La Meditación en la práctica de Mindfulness se trata de enfocarse en la respiración, no porque haya algo especial en ella, sino porque la sensación física de la respiración siempre está ahí (no podemos olvidarla en casa o dejarla perdida ‘por ahí’) y podemos usarla como un ancla para el momento presente ya que ésta, si o si, siempre nos regresa a nuestra cuerpo y nuestro cuerpo únicamente existe en el momento presente, no en el pasado, no en el futuro.. Become conscious of your breath during today’s 60 second therapy tip! When difficult or overwhelming emotions like anger, anxiety, or sadness arrive one of the best things you can do is to bring your attention to your breath. Noticing your breath brings you into the present moment and grounds you in your body. When you are able to consciously breathe, you can activate your parasympathetic nervous system. This is the part of your body that needs to be “turned on” in order to feel safe, be calm, and problem solve. The magic of conscious breath is that you can take it anywhere. You can consciously breathe at work in a meeting or during a presentation, while commuting by car, bus, or bike, around your family at home... I’ve yet to find a time or place where it doesn’t come in handy! Want more on conscious breathing?
