What is it about this miraculous practice? I love it so much I want to marry it some days. When I’m feeling most emotionally tumultuous is when I am most resistant to it. And yet, because I know I need it the most, I allow myself to sit, eyes closed, in all my ego-based defiance, with monkey mind criticizing the uselessness of it all, telling me what I should make for dinner, telling me to *go* make dinner. These were the thoughts in my head @ a beautiful #ecstaticdance class last night. Was pumped beforehand, got there, tried to move my body, and my mind went mental on me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I used to hear these thoughts all the time when I danced in the presence of other people. I thought I’d conquered them...I guess not! The thing is, beyond these thoughts, beyond the resistance and awkwardness, lies the magic. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I stayed with the resistance and put up with the thoughts. They didn’t go away entirely this time, but the more I entertained and embraced them (rather than fighting them) the quieter the thoughts became. Beyond the negative mind-shit lies the freedom. Not as easy as it sounds though is it? . I work hard on myself, and I try to take a moment before reacting. Most of the time I can brush it off. . Most of the time I can see it's not about me at all, it's other people's shit. . Sometimes I get triggered and blow before I get a chance to breathe through it. . That's annoying as balls because then I'll go over and over and give myself a hard time for being suckered into someone else's shit. . And the worst thing is I can still be mithering about it a week later. . However, we are all a work in progress, so I'll just blame this past couple of weeks on some kind of Retrograde BS and move the fuck on. . Anyone else been triggered by everything this last week or so?

🌼Die Erlaubnis zu sein🌼 . Heute morgen habe ich meine Morgenroutine über den Haufen geworfen und bin erst mit dem Fahrrad unterwegs gewesen, habe dann einen ausgiebigen Spaziergang im Park gemacht und weil's so schön war, bin ich noch in mein Lieblingscafé zum späten Frühstück. . . Bloß so richtig genießen konnte ich es die meiste Zeit leider nicht. Die ganze Zeit lief in meinem Hinterkopf ein ganz bestimmter Film in verschiedenen Varianten von: "Du müsstet eigentlich arbeiten." 🗨️ . Was letztendlich zu einem richtig dicken Brummschädel geführt hat. Nicht sehr angenehm, aber immer habe ich dann gemerkt, dass ich nicht mehr so ganz im Flow bin. 😉 Blöd, wenn man sich seine Auszeiten selber vermiest, indem man den eigenen Affen im Kopf verrückt spielen lässt. 🐒 . Hach, also erstmal erden, tief in den Bauch atmen und ab jetzt: das machen, worauf ich Lust habe UND genießen! 💚 Weniger Kopf, mehr Herz! ❤️ Weniger müssen, mehr sein! 💛 at Hamburg, Germany

Well if FEAR is involved it’s your mean girl, coming straight from your head. am able to level my shoulders a little more and stay afloat for longer, so here’s what i’m gonna do next: i’m gonna forget about it for couple days. i’m gonna trust that i can leave my obsessions alone for a few days and the world will still spin on its axis. i’m gonna be a human being and socialize lol. i’m gonna trust that rest and restoration is part of the practice. i’m gonna make music and write and clean the whole house and cross off things on other lists. i’m gonna do everything except asana. i’m gonna trust that i will come back to it afresh when i do, and that nothing is “lost” by resting. yeheyy #babystepsisyourfriend #cheerstothebabysteppers #duyanyoga #ekapadabakasana #flyingcrowpose #monkeymind

No matter where you live or what you may choose as your life path there are always situations, people and inner mechanisms of the mind that can disturb the balance. The last few months have been such a roller coaster on so many levels and for so many different reasons. However no matter how crazy the chaos gets in my head the space I am in physically forces me on a daily basis to simply open my eyes and see....see the abundance, see the beauty, see the creation of all things around me to turn down and silence the crazy chatter in my head that gets caught up in everything else.
