There’s some new Humble art towering in @larkbozeman’s new expansion 😍😍 I’m beyond grateful to be included with the talented group of artists that are represented throughout this new space, and grateful for the guidance from @hoffmanartworks and company! An honor to have my illustrations so boldly presented in a place that’s so near and dear to my heart—Bozeman, Montana. Featured here is the grand Douglas Fir with its very identifiable little pine cone. 🌲🦔 . . . #makersgonnamake #makersmovement #lifegoals #homesweethome #montana #montanamoment #wanderlust #mountainlife #lifestyle #thehappynow #thatsdarling #abmlifeiscolorful #abmhappylife #getaway #lovewhereyoulive #graphicdesign #bozeman #monfuckintana #handmade #handdrawn #illustration #travelbug #designinspiration #homedecor

This gentleman—a metal sculptor, I believe—struck me as so quietly dignified and elegant, subtly Western, and timeless. I didn’t catch his name or learn his story, but the image of him still in the shade on a hot day made me somehow more at ease with the notion of old age. at Veteran's Park

Day 2 (July 15, 2018): The Sun was shining bright in Glacier NP in Montana for our last day in the park. Grinnel Lake was on the agenda, a 7 mile out and back to the crystal clear waters of the glacier fed lake. The trail began along the banks of Swiftcurrent Lake and took us next door to the shores of Lake Josephine. These 2 glacier fed lakes were just a warm up for what’s to come. Once we lost the lakes we hiked through thick forest, the elevation gaining and falling several times along the way. Eventually we started seeing teal waters peak through the thick trees. We made it to the icy cold waters of Grinnel Lake, a product of the Grinnel Glacier. We striped off our socks and boots and waded in. The cold water hits you hard once you finally start to feel it’s icy grips. Despite the initial uncomfortable feeling, icing our feet started to feel rejuvenated. Our return hike was quick. We all worked up appetites and local diner, Two Sisters Café was calling our names. We enjoyed our last meal in the US and set our sights for the border. The next 4 hours we drove through Alberta, Canada until we reached Calgary, our home for the next 2 nights. at Glacier National Park

I turn 28 at the end of this month. For some reason, that feels like a big number, a remarkable birthday. When I was younger, 28 felt like the age when young women really had their lives together- a “normal” fulfilling career, ~meaningful~ hobbies, a long term partner & a dog, maybe. I think we can all blame TV for those assumptions. My life doesn’t look like all of those things right now, but it often looks like this; lungs pushing my legs up mountainsides, the sun beating on my shoulders, good friends on either side of me in the trail, the wilderness stretching out in front of me. It looks like long days at a job I love, going home to my sleeping bag stretched out under the Milky Way, watching the birds settle into their nests for the night. It looks like traveling often, trying to watch the sunset every day & reminding myself to SLOW DOWN sometimes. We are all on our own path on this earth journey. Grateful for the gift of living into the fullness of life, however that looks this in this season. at Jewel Basin - Montana

I couldn't help but stop and take a picture of this bubbling stream as we hiked past because it brought back memories of another time when I was hiking with my mom and her friends on the same trail. This stream is near the end of the hike and we stopped to soak our tired feet. Afterwards I had the hardest time getting my feet back into my shoes, but it was 100% worth it for the cool down. Along the same hike there's an extra off-shoot trail about 1 mile long to one of the most scenic overlooks I've ever seen. Since my mom's group wasn't going there, I decided to take off after lunch and run ahead. It was my first time on the scenic Highline Trail in Glacier National Park and I couldn't help but keep looking at the views. This is usually fine when you're hiking, but when you're trail running you really need to pay attention. At some point I was gawking at the view at just the wrong time, and I tripped over a rock. Then I went for one of the biggest spills of my life. Luckily I was carrying a bear spray which saved my right hand, but my left wasn't so lucky. When I had pulled myself back up with all sorts of scrapes, I saw that my left hand had been banged up pretty bad - I had tore a hole in the palm of my hand about 1"x1" that took weeks to heal. But being in my early 20's I just shook it off and took off running again, this time keeping a better eye on the trail. I'm pretty sure if I took the same kind of fall now, I wouldn't be shaking it off the same way! But in any case I made it to the overlook, and I'll never forget the way it felt to come up to the ridge and look down into the Many Glacier valley to see Grinnell Glacier. It was so stunning, it's hard to describe, and even the photos on the blog where I wrote about that hike don't do it any kind of justice. After I had lingered as long as I thought I could without loosing the group, I headed back down and started running to catch up with them. Unbeknownst to me, they were actually behind me on the trail, so of course I ran and I ran never catching up to them. Finally I knew I had to turn around and go back. Of course I found them, and so the soak in the river was ever that much better after so much effort!
