Hamstring and lower back stretch. Personally this is my favourite stretch to lengthen out these to areas of the body. Post exercise try and hold this position unilaterally for 1-3 mins. Focus on deep controlled breathing and ease into the stretch. When stretching the hamstring you should feel it in the ipsilateral side of the Quadratus Lumborum (lower back)

With the increased popularity of certain diet fads and fat burning supplements, we are forgetting that primarily, an energy deficit and increased protein intake is the backbone of improvements in body composition when combined with a resistance training intervention. Just because something is β€œketogenic” or β€œpaleo” doesn’t mean it is superior to another diet that facilitates a more favourable physique. Looking beyond the aesthetic component of dieting and achieving a leaner physique, individuals who are not overweight tend to have better blood lipid profiles, less chance of diet related diseases and have a lower risk of developing metabolic syndrome. Not to mention resistance training improves our strength, resistance to injury in some cases and even improves our bone mineral density. These behaviours combined build a strong, confident and robust individual. Discover consistent behaviour changes you are able to stick to for the longest time with regards to your diet and practice them often. If consuming a more β€œpaleo” diet happens to be something you enjoy doing that aids in your goals than continue to practice these behaviour changes, but understand that in no way does it magically alter your physiology so that you’re superior at burning fat to us regular folk who eat grains. at Marmina Exercise and Nutrition

HEALTHY BANANA AND ZUCCHINI LOAF 🍌 INGREDIENTS * 2 cups whole wheat or gluten-free flour nut meal flour alternatives * 1 tsp baking powder * ½ tsp baking soda * 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon * ¼ tsp ground nutmeg * ¼ tsp Himalayan salt * 1 tbls Turmeric blend @_goldengrind_ * ½ tbsp coconut oil, melted * 2 large eggs * 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract * ¼ cup Coconut yoghurt or Greek yogurt * 2 medium mashed banana * 2 tbsp Honey or rice Malt Syrup * ¼ cup nut milk * 2 Zucchinis (160g) grated, patted dry * 2 pitted medjool dates (or soaked dates) METHOD 1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line a baking pan with foil, and lightly coat with nonstick cooking spray. 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, Turmeric blend, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. 3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the coconut oil, eggs, and vanilla. Mix in the yogurt, stirring until no lumps remain. 4. I used a food processor to combine the remaining wet ingredients to get an even consistency. Add mashed banana, honey/rice Malt, dates and added the flour and pre mixed egg mixture. 5. Pulse or process on low-medium until combined. Alternatively, just gradually combine all ingredients into a mixing bowl and finely chop the dates. 6. Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Top with any extras like shredded coconut, Banana, Nuts and Turmeric blend. Bake at 180°F for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before carefully lifting out the loaf. 7. Once cooled, slice and enjoy this tasty breakfast or snack loaf! I like to toast it and add some @byronbaypeanutbutter and honey or yoghurt on top! 8. Store in and air tight container for up to a week. ENJOY!

I whipped up this Chia choc-mint afternoon delight incorporating a few of my faves! πŸ’š@musclematcha @du_chocolat @pranaon INGREDIENTS CHIA PUDDING: * ΒΌ cup chia seeds * 1 cup almond milk * Β½ tsp peppermint essential oil (food grade) * 1 tbsp @musclematcha * Β½ tbsp maple syrup or Rice Malt Syrup TOP LAYER: * Β½ cup yogurt of choice * 2 small bananas * 2 tbsp @du_chocolat * Β½ cup almond milk * 1 scoop of @pranaon INSTRUCTIONS 1. Mix your chia seeds, almond milk, peppermint oil, matcha powder, and maple syrup in a bowl, and whisk until everything is incorporated. 2. Plate in a container in the fridge for 30mins- 1 hour. 3. Once ready, remove from fridge and whisk again to make sure there are no clumps. If you pudding is too thick, at a bit more almond milk. 4. In a blender, add your banana, @du_chocolat , almond milk, and pulse until smooth. 5. Layer your chia pudding, yogurt, and chocolate smoothie into a glass jar to-go and enjoy!
