This evening was filled with a lot heart pumping exercises. I worked up a really good sweat especially since I kept my hoodie from @myfitchow on the entire evening. Went from 25 min on Stair Climber to 15 min on Elliptical and then did lots of fun jumping & spinning around. My ♡ was pounding! I loved it! When performing the Plank exercise, we should be aware of this characteristic mistake which is Anterior pelvic tilt (APT), usually as a result of weakness in the abdominal muscles. There are more mistakes when performing the Plank (not only ATP) one of them is Hyperextension of the hip that causes lumbar hyperextension. Why is it preferable to maintain a straight back/ body alignment? Straight back or body alignment refers to a neutral position of the spine, which we have when our posture is ideal and the spine maintains its normative curves. In this condition, the core muscles are coordinated neurologically and have maximal ability to stabilize the spine and respond to even the smallest movement. DAY 14 & DAY 10 - 4 workouts in a day #adventcalendarchallenge with @valelasfida28 . Today I woke feeling like Super Woman. I was in the gym very early and ready to.work up a sweat. Yesterday my food choices were on point. For the first time in ages I ate 3 meals, all full of nutritional goodness, grains, spices, fruit and veggies. We need to see food as feeding our bodies not simply to fill it. Today was proof that what we put into our bodies gives us the fuel we need. . Today I did 4 workouts. Yep, doing the #decadechallenge ✨ SWIPE for the body composition 💪 change over the last decade. Don't get me wrong, I'm far from where I want to be, but good things take TIME. My body has changed dramatically, but yo girl has had to BUST A** to get there. Day after day, week after week, month after month, and yes, year after year. It is hard as f*ck for my body to put on muscle. It's taken more than a few months or a year to get where I am, and it will take more than a few months or a year to get to where I want to be. That's the beauty of growth, we have endless opportunity to become our best selves. I'm taking the opportunity to shout out @fyt_fitness for coming up with creative exercises to keep my upper body working when I broke my hand (and I was panicking I'd go back to being a wet noodle with no strength or muscle), and @themegatron_ who has greatly educated me on proper nutrition for a vegetarian athlete and built the foundation for the most dramatic change to my body composition I've seen in the last decade. Saying thank you to both of you is an understatement. We're coming up on the end of a decade. Look back on what your goals were ten years ago, look back on who you were ten years ago, and look at how far you've come, how much you've accomplished, and how much you've grown, then go ahead and clap for your damn self. Because whether or not you're where you wanted to be by now, you've learned, you've grown, and you've changed. That's worth some recognition. Here's to the next decade of life, love, dreams, goals, and growth. 🍾🥂
