Barley paella 🌾 this was so flavorful with essentially no guilt!!! I LOVE paella but I’m also trying to be a bit healthier so I can’t always justify a ton of rice.. If you’re in the same boat, give my recipe a try! 💜 know anyone in search of a diet friendly recipe? Tag them below 🤗 - Prepping the veggies: • Roasted red and yellow bell peppers whole on the bbq • Let them get cool enough to touch, peel off the charred skin, discard the seeds (some stragglers are fine!) and chop them up • Asparagus were trimmed, tossed with olive oil, salt, and pepper, and put on a sheet on the bbq • Once cooked, chop up the asparagus too • Slice red onion dials, place a toothpick through them to keep all layers in place, spray with olive oil, and grill ▫️Barley • Bring water with garlic powder, cayenne, smoked paprika, and salt to a boil • Pour in barley with some butter and cover for 10-15 minutes • Reserve some of the juice while draining it ▫️ Sauce • Melt butter and add in olive oil, cayenne, a few thin slices of red onion, and lemon juice • Once all melted, add in some of that remaining broth • Pour over the barley - Toss it all together, and enjoy!! Beccatevi la preparazione nella foto successiva 👉🏼questo petto di pollo è tutto tranne che light ma ultimamente sperimento nuove ricette per il locale e questa sarà senz'altro da riproporre! Passare il petto di pollo prima nell'uovo e poi nelle briciole delle patatine in sacchetto, ricoprire di Emmenthal grattugiato e infornare con un filo d'olio evo per circa 20 min in forno caldo a 220 gradi😋😋Io l'ho accompagnato a delle semplici zucchine in padella vista già la grande 🐷🐷🐷😂😂😂😂Buon appetito! Najbardziej czekam na reakcje mojej córki i męża ❤️uwielbiam patrzeć na uśmiech i radosne oczy mojej córki, oraz zaskoczenie męża, bo mimo, że ciężko trafić w jego gust, to Mikolaj stara się ze wszystkich sił znaleźć prezent, który mu się spodoba 😍I choć w tym roku nie będzie wspólnego wieczornego odpakowywania, bo córki nie będzie z nami na Wigilii, to i tak nie mogę się doczekać. A córka rozpakuje prezenty w pierwszy dzień świat już w górach. Ehh przebieram już nogami i odliczam dni jak dziecko 😂 a Wy co lubicie w świętach? A jeśli nie lubicie świat, to czemu? . . Getting enough nutrient-dense calories in our athletes can be tough, but by eating consistently, our nutrition can keep energy stabilized and provide the body with what it needs to thrive for your workouts/games etc. . If you find yourself to be the one who usually skips breakfast or grabs a pop tart out the door… then maybe has a sandwich and cookie for lunch, trains after school pretty hard, goes to another practice, gets home around 7pm and eats about 70+ % of calories at dinner time.. you are likely in the bucket of NEEDING NUTRIENT DENSE SNACKS to pack for school/work etc. to help wth your energy balance and getting the most out of your performance where it counts. Tips to keep in mind: . 1. Build your own: To save $$ and make for a more nutritious snack, pack your own mix of dried fruit, nuts, raisins, seeds, popcorn and even a sprinkle of some chocolate chips! Also, checkout our previous posts for some “protein bars/ball” to make for on the go. 2. Prep Ahead: Portion up some snack food items so you can “grab and go” out the door. Grapes, Strawberries, Chopped up carrots, cherry tomatoes, or even just leftovers or hey how about our “overnight oats”?! 3. Make it a combo “or PAIRING”: Always aim for protein source and a fiber rich food like fruits/whole grain crackers or veggies. Yogurt + Berries, Banana + PB, Turkey + Whole Grain Pita are great starting points! 4. Have some veggies: Using bell peppers or carrots with hummus makes for a tasty and nutrient dense snack. Add in some guacamole, or yogurt dip to spice things up! 5. Snacking on the go: Banana/Fruit is your “fast food” option that doesn’t take much preparing ahead of time.
