. 💪🏻DUMBBELL ONLY BICEP WORKOUT💪🏻 This is quick but very effective bicep workout and all you need is just a pair of dumbbells. So grab them up and fill your sleeves 😉💪🏻 Swipe left for exercises👉🏻 . 💥FIRST EXERCISE: Alternating bicep curls with a little twist. Do 5 reps and then leave your hand up as a rest pause. This allows you to have consistant tension in your bicep. Do this 3-4 sets so you get 15-20 reps in total with your both hands. . 💥SECOND EXERCISE: Hammer curls. This attacks more to the long head of the bicep and also hits the forearm. This will make the thickness to your biceps. 3-4 sets of 10-12 reps. Once you come close to failure, keep going with alternating curls. . 💥THIRD EXERCISE: These are called Zottman curls. At the top, twist your wrist and go down with reverse grip. You don’t have to go heavy on these. This really burns the forearms. Again, once you come close to failure, finish off with reverse grip curls to really kill them forearms. . Battle Bites - carrot cake - 8.5/10 Taste: after the disappointment of the red velvet flavour I didn’t have high hopes for these, but I was pleasantly surprised. They taste very like an actual carrot cake would, with a great balance of cinnamon / spices. The white chocolate adds that creamyness you’d get from the frosting and is a good addition. If you like carrot cake, give these a go! ———————————————————————— Texture: on the whole I found the texture pretty good, they’re more moist than a lot of the other battle bites bars, the caramel section was a bit more molten than on some of the others. Wasn’t a huge fan of the sprinkles on the outside, stuff like this is always just very messy and doesn’t add much to the overall bar. Super exited to finally be able to begin my new routine using @myproteinuk products! I have been researching for quite awhile now as to which #proteinpowders would suit me the best and I think I’ve found them!... I decided to go with #wheyprotein vanilla and #wheyprotein choc mint - Although just to be sure I like them I have bought some samples. But if all goes well I will definitely be investing in a bigger bag! As you can see I also bought some #vitafiber as I sometimes find it difficult to get my daily portion of fiber into my diet, so this powder will definitely help me achieve to get this important part of a balanced diet in! I also invested in some @myproteinuk Granola as I LOVE granola but most are super high in sugars and fat but this granola is low in sugars and fat but super high in #protein ! Nothing too special here. Reps got sloppy at the end but when it feels good a little swing really isn’t going to make much of a difference, especially when my back off sets and isolation work is executed with good form and technique. Always handy filming your sets to see if you’re performing an exercise correctly and se it there’s any points to work on. Top set of bent over rows here at 100kg (10kg bar with 90kg of plates). Very happy with this movement at the moment, awaiting more plates so that I can get deadlifts back on the programme as this currently is too light to make any sort of progression for me personally. Apologies for the angle too 🍑😂 just didn’t want the facials in this as I was gassed out by the last rep! Adjusting to home training has been rough but have been excited to see lifts progress nicely in this training phase. Here’s another couple ways to increase the effectiveness of your pushups. 1. Don’t just think about pushing the ground away from you, also think about trying to force your hands together. If we think about the roles of the pectoral muscles, one of their roles is to horizontally adduct our arms. Think chest flies, this is horizontal adduction. By thinking about pushing our hands together we can increase the engagement of our pecs during the exercise. Try it out for yourself. Do one rep thinking only about pushing yourself up and then a second rep thinking about pushing yourself up PLUS pulling your hands together. You’ll feel the difference immediately. 2. Hold the bottom of the rep for a couple seconds. In the second half of the video you can see I hold the bottom of the rep for a couple seconds. This serves two purposes. It both increases time under tension, but also prevents us from using the elastic property of our muscles to simply bounce ourselves back up. It requires greater strength to push up from a dead stop than to simply bounce through the rep. Hope that these tips help. After a few days of taking it easy and just generally enjoying myself I’m excited to get back to working out again! Today I ran a 5k and did my normal ab workout! ❗️LETS TALK GOALS ❗️ I think it’s so important to set goals for yourself. Not just any goals but small realistic ones. Don’t get me wrong having an end goal that you want to achieve is good but just having that one goal isn’t going to help you get there as it will seem like such a long leap. ▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️ Setting goals helps you realise and remember why you started in the first place. If you only get one main goal it will feel as if your not progressing, your not getting anywhere and it will feel like it’s all a waste as your not getting to your goal quick enough. ▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️ Set short term goals that build up to a big result it means you can stay motivated through your journey and feel accomplished why you achieve your small goals. ▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️ Write yourself up the goals you are going to achieve that week. If not evevry week do it in the evening for the next day.
