To really understand what climate change entails, we need to see the big picture. To do so, we need to have a look at the past, and consider when&how fossil fuels were produced. This is the fourth and last “lesson from the past” blackboard. By digging and burning fossil fuels we are releasing the CO2 that was “locked” inside the Earth 🌏. We do this to create energy for moving our cars 🚗, planes ✈️ , producing our food, moving all the machines that made our life the way we know it. Even reading this post on your phone was allowed by fossil fuels. The CO2 released is he ones that plants and green bacteria turned into biomass millions of years ago! We are now burning these resources so fast that the CO2 in the atmosphere is piling up, and this never happened before. Why should we care? Stay tuned for the next series of blackboards! We’ll talk about the reasons why Earth’s temperature is increasing & the reason why we should worry about that. #artofvisuals #biology #biotechnologists #cervelli #draghetti #extintionrebellion #fantastic_earth #gogreen #naturediversity #instanaturelover #iphoneography #naturwissenschaften #earth_deluxe #oneearth #padovasocial #pintofscience2019 #savetheworld #science  #whateverittakes #scubadivers #sub #subacquei #flight #carbonextraction #bigtrucks #snorkeling #snorkeling🐠

I had the privilege to visit 10 beautiful Alpine lakes while in Banff National Park. There is something objectively beautiful about their clarity and grandeur that leaves a mark on those who stand in their midst. The topic of objective beauty has always interested me. Different cultures disagree on beauty standards when it comes to the human body, but it's almost always the case that we find beauty in nature. This is Moraine Lake, the first lake I visited on my first morning inside the Park. We woke up at dawn to get there before the parking lot filled up with cars of eager travelers. I couldn't save the best for last in this case, Moraine was just too stunning. I remember seeing pictures of Moraine before visiting and thinking the water color must be Photoshopped. While there are some basic light adjustments in my edits to adjust RAW files, there is no color augmentations in the water. Something called rock flour is responsible for the distinct blue color of Moraine. As glaciers grind rocks to a powder, the lakes take on a new color when the powder makes its way into their reserves. In an attempt to reduce the amount of post for Banff, I decided to post some galleries of each lake. I've never experimented with this before, please let me know what you think! . . . . . . . . . . #morainelake #banff #canada #travelphotography #landscapephotography #fantastic_earth #landscape_captures #ig_exquisite #nature_wizards #nature_shooters #naturediversity #landscapelovers #nature_prefection #nature_brilliance #gottalove_a_ #allnatureshots #EarthVisuals #welivetoexplore #explorecanada #canadaswonderland #igerscanada #gf_canada #ohcanada #unlimitedcanada
