Do you notice the pull towards foods that you restrict becoming stronger the more you ignore them? ⁠ ⁠ You are not a bad person for having a craving and honoring it! That stinks.⠀ ⠀ But, you have options!!⠀ ⠀ It seriously used to be that the “healthier” choice meant tasteless or unappealing. That is just not the case anymore.⠀ ⠀ There are so many healthier alternatives to the older sugar-packed, fat-laden recipes now.You probably will actually PREFER some of the healthier recipes - they are THAT good!!!⠀ ⠀ I’m telling ya I have a bunch of delicious healthier desserts. They are SO good that I can’t make them often because I will eat them all! ⠀ ⠀ Don’t believe me? How about a recipe to try for yourself?? I can gauge which one to send you with a couple quick questions! ⠀ ⠀ Like this one! Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Banana Quesadilla It’s only 300 calories, provides seven grams of protein and three grams of fiber per serving. Salads are seriously one of my most satisfying meals, likely because I find them the easiest to make and I feel nourished & energized after eating! This crowd pleasing salad was made by simply dumping handfuls of ingredients, into the biggest bowl you can find, in under 5 minutes. If a salad wasn't on your menu tonight but you have nuts, veg and greens that you can toss together, be sure to do so. Use up that brocolli you are forgetting about in the fridge and add to your meal some vibrant nourishment from a simple salad!! Spinach | Arugula | Broccoli | Goats Milk Feta | Hemp Hearts | Chia Seeds | Pepitas | Pecans | Almonds | Blueberries | + a few rounds of Olive Oil & Balsamic Vinegar to top.

This is inspired from the works of John Bradshaw who was one of the first to coin the phrase " #toxicshame “ ‍ Im not a big fan of the word "Toxic" any word that creates a nice neat black and white label is too convenient. ‍ But in this case, it might just apply. Shame, like anger...feeds on itself. When we feel shame we may feel we have done something wrong, and it’s representative of who we are as a person so we cover that with more shame. ‍ Bradshaw says there are 5 key characteristics of toxic Shame.. 1) It feeds your core identity that you are flawed 2) You hide your inner feelings 3) Youre on constant guard from being exposed 4) Inner tormet of the mind and soul 5) You wont admit shame ‍ My sixth one is that it is then contributes to disconnection from others on a real and deep level, and that in itself may feed into your #attachmentissues. A #dismissiveavoidant becomes even more shut down, an #anxiousattachment peep projects outwardly even more. ‍ So what do we do? We need to Claim our Shame. Firstly, we need to extricate ourself from the FEELING of shame from our OVER-IDENTIFICATION of shame: we are not what we feel. Then we need to express it. There is a power in expressing that shame in that it releases the energy/the charge associated with it. 🧘‍♀️You can start practicing mindfulness right away. ❤️You do not need a formal meditation practice or special instructions. * Each action that you take in your daily life may become your mindfulness practice. For example, mindful eating, mindful speaking, and mindful listening are great points to start mindfulness practice. * When you eat the next time, chew the food thoroughly, paying attention to texture, taste, and temperature of food. * When you speak to somebody, watch how your mind forms sentences and what actually comes out of your mouth. A lot of times we say what we didn’t mean. Pay attention to your voice, pauses in your speech, and specific words you use. Don’t judge or question your practice, simply observe. * Same goes for the listening. Pay particular attention to the sound of another person’s voice, pauses in their speech, as well as body language. Does your partner say what he or she means?
