🌛Tropical Mango & Raspberry Smoothie Bowl🌜 For both bowls I used frozen bananas( 1 1/2 for each) - so make sure you freeze them the night before or about 4 hours before you make the bowl(s). In order to prevent any difficulties with blending the bananas I cut them into chunks before I freeze them. ✨mango smoothie bowl✨: -1 and 1/2 frozen bananas - 150g frozen mango - 1 orange (or orange juice but I prefer squeezing out the juice of a fresh orange) - coconut drink from alpro( full fat coconut milk would taste differently - I think coconut water would be better if you want a similar result and can't find the drink) (- 1/2 teaspoon of maca powder) The toppings I chose: -coconut chips -chia seeds - almonds and walnuts -mulberries - and some sweet soy crunch ,I believe 🤔 Into a blender( I absolutely love my vitamix) put : 1)first the frozen banana and mango 2)then squeeze in the juice of an orange (I squeezed the orange by hand so if you use a kitchen tool use a little less juice.) 3)add a small amount of the coconut drink and start blending. Keep adding the drink until you reach your desired consistency. (Keep in mind that the "smoothie" has to have a thick consistency so that you can add toppings.) The first breakfast cereal was invented In 1863 by James Caleb Jackson, a religiously conservative vegetarian as a digestive aid. However, most supermarket cereals now are nothing more than a sugary snack fortified with synthetic chemical additives. My advice for getting healthy is to ditch the breakfast cereals unless homemade such as granola and prepare from scratch a meal of protein, omega-3 and other healthy brain-essential nutrients. Preparation for this is 5 minutes. Cooking time around 7 minutes. So a healthy and delicious breakfast meal in around 12 minutes which will stabilise blood sugar levels and keep you alert, focused and happy until lunchtime. Try to use, organic, cage-free eggs from local farms as opposed to supermarkets. This plant is a super star in the edible garden. The magenta and green leaves are nutrient rich! Magenta Spreen – Chenopodium giganteum This is a beautiful plant to grow with it’s soft green goosefoot shaped leaves that have a splash of magenta-pink on the newest leaves of each stem. It is an annual, meaning it grows for one season, and then dies down.  Looking at the photo one would never suspect this plant can reach over two metres, appearing like a small tree, and as such is also known as Tree spinach.  It is much easier to grow than regular spinach though and more productive.  Magenta spreen is also called lamb’s quarters.  It is sown in the spring and quickly grows during summer producing side shoots that can be picked for your smoothies, for steaming like spinach or silver beet or turning into patties (recipe below). Just one plant can produce a huge amount of food.  I heard a story of a farmer in America telling his son that if it wasn’t for magenta spreen they would have starved during the depression. So take advantage of the many tender young pink leaves which look very decorative in a salad.  Once you have a plant of Magenta spreen and you let it go to seed, it will pop up in your garden in unexpected places. Magenta spreen is a highly nutritious plant, rich in Vitamins C and E, essential fatty acids, iron, calcium, minerals and antioxidants which are good for dealing with free radicals.  The underside of the leaves and top of the new leaves are covered in a fine pink dust. Resist the temptation to wash it off as it is full of calcium and protein.  It contains even more protein than kale, which contains more than the recommended daily intake of protein.  Just put the tender shoots and leaves (removed from the tough stems) in your blender and you’ll get all the benefits the plant has to offer.  Magenta spreen does contain some oxalic acid like spinach and swiss chard or silver beet : juliasedibleweeds. ________________🌿_________________ We'll have this superfood seedling at the Featherston Market on Saturday.

I feel like I hit a wall tonight. Not sure if I’m catching something, or what. I have a headache, lungs are a bit tight and wheezy if I cough, normal temp and exhausted. I can’t tell if I have aches from today’s workout, getting sick or both. So for dinner I made a quick soup by thawing some chicken bone broth, tossed in some garlic, celery, zucchini, chicken breast and some salsa verde for flavor. Then I made a Kale Shake with a half cup of frozen berries, water, liquid stevia and ice. I’m going to blast what ever this is will real food nutrition. The kale shake is ugly as 💩, but berries and kale will do that. Goodnight all, 6:30pm and already in bed. This is the simplest warm veggie bowl or side dish to whip up. Just toss your greens in the sauté pan with a bit of oil and salt until they start to wilt. This maybe took me 5 min? Toss in some dried fruit, add your protein and you’re good to go. . . . The easiest way for me to eat veggies in is to have them ready to go right from the fridge. Organic Cold-Pressed Turmeric Juice. I posted a photo of this to my story the other day and got sooooo many questions. So here's the run down: I bought this from the company I work for (@villagejuicery). It's not available in store, you have to custom order it. I'm taking it to help with a protocol I'm doing to balance my hormones. Turmeric is probably most known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Reducing inflammation is always important when treating a hormonal imbalance (or any unbalance really). It is also a great liver decongestant and detoxifier. Since hormones are processed through the liver anytime I work on hormones I support the liver in one way or another. Currently taking 1/2oz with black pepper or coconut oil (they help with absorption) 3 x daily, on an empty stomach. 🔥

Protein Loaf Ingredients: 4 eggs 150g plain yogurt/curd 50g ground flaxseeds 50g ground hazelnuts 1 Tbsp flour(a little bit more if you use yogurt) 1/2 sachet baking powder 1/4 tsp salt Mix eggs and yogurt with eggwhisk. Add flaxseeds, hazelnuts, flour, baking powder and salt to the egg mixture. Mix everything. Pour dough into baking dish and bake at 175 °C(top and bottom heat) for 50-60min. Just finished eating this amazing pizza slice for lunch from @planetorganic (in truth I had two!) ... Wasn’t sure if I’d like it but loved it! 😍 - All organic ingredients with activated charcoal added to the sourdough base hence the colour ... plus avocado on top! 🖤🥑 - For those that don’t know, activated charcoal is a potent natural treatment used to trap toxins and chemicals in the body, allowing them to be flushed out so the body doesn’t reabsorb them. So for example I’ll take activated charcoal capsules after or the morning after having alcohol. I also take charcoal on a pretty regular basis because we come into contact with chemicals all day from cosmetics, cleaning products, air pollution etc. even if we try to be as natural as possible with these ... So I like to think I’m helping my body get rid of anything toxic more easily. HOME MADE KIMCHI 🌶🌶 I’ve made sauerkraut many times before, but this is a first for something a bit different. Firstly soak together grated carrots, sliced pointed cabbage and radishes in some brine overnight. Drain the brine but keep to add to your sterilised jar. I added lots of #antiinflammatory foods like garlic, ginger, red chillies and spring onions. All ingredients mixed together (don’t forget to wear gloves!! )😳🌶🌶 Finally add all the ingredients into your sterilised jar and press down and top up with the brine. Let the fermentation process begin! 💥💥 I will leave this jar in a dark warm place to ferment for a week. Watch out when you open up the jar as it will fizz⚠️ Enjoy this #guthealing #immuneboosting fermented #kimchi with any meal. If you are new to fermented foods start slowly with 1 teaspoon a day and gradually increase so you don’t overwhelm your digestive system. 👉🏾Kimchi is known to be one of the world’s healthiest foods, loaded with vitamins A, B, and C, but its biggest benefit may be in its #healthybacteria called lactobacilli, found in fermented foods like kimchi and yogurt. Crispy Onions. Not fried, raw and dehydrated. For some crunch in soups or salads. Just thinly sliced onions, salt, pepper and turmeric. Dehydrated at 130 degrees overnight. Learned the fun lesson that dehydrating onions has a similar effect to slicing onions. Last night my house was filled with the smell and my eyes wouldn't stop watering until I went to sleep. Attempt at your own risk. 😭
