Somewhere its Legs day for someone!⁠ ⁠ Barbell Back Squat video 📹 I made before the lock down happened.⁠ ⁠ ❌The biggest mistake I see when people Back Squat is they make it a point to keep their torso upright throughout the entire movement. ⁠ ⁠ Keeping your torso too upright creates a over extended back which results in lower back pain felt at the bottom of the squat.⁠ ⁠ ❌Another common mistake is starting the squat by pushing your knees forward instead of starting by pushing your hips back.⁠ ⁠ Hope this gives you all a bit more confidence and knowledge in your future Back Squats.⁠ ⁠ Please comment below if this helped you 😀

BBM PBII W3D1 (C10W3D1) Vid 1: Comp squat, 140 kgx6, 5 of 5 Vid 2: Bulgarian split squat (right leg), 20 kgx12, 4 of 4 Vid 3: " (left leg), 20 kgx12, 4 of 4 First real challenging squat session in 9 weeks. Made a 20 kg jump from last week's work sets as DOMS have pretty much become non-existant from last week's bout. Amongst all the lifts, squat takes the most time for me to build confidence and momentum with. Deadlift and bench press are much nearer to baseline so will need to get to buy in mentally with squat so it can catch up. Squat felt heavy on the shoulders but moved well enough. Feeling pretty optimistic that I'll be able to ramp up more next week.

Not much more to say then the hard work is definitely (finally lol) paying off! I have found over the last couple of months that exercise is my one thing I can control- when everything else seems to be all jumbled up! I know if I can just workout for 45mins no mater what I face in the day I’ll be able to face it head on...It’s not bloody easy!!!!- My days start between 4 and 4.30am so that I can fit in going to the gym before work! Today's workout felt amazing and it was really nice to really get into my vibe and absolutely crush it. . . I switched up my gym playlist and it really really helped me, I'd always appreciate more songs to help me. . . This morning I woke up and really wanted to go straight back to sleep, it was rainy and dark this morning and I felt warm and cozy in my bed. But I pushed through that feeling and felt better as soon as I got up and had breakfast. It's a lot harder to get that motivation to get up when it's dark and cold in the morning but I always feel better when I do my workout. And today really showed that cause my workout felt AMAZING. . . Do you guys have any songs that really help you crush a workout? So good to be back at the gym this week! 3x pole classes and 4x gym sessions has definitely left me sore though. I’ve your feeling sore after your first week getting back into things here are some tips to help. 💪 Get enough sleep and take active rest days (walking only). 💪 have a bath with Epsom salts. 💪make sure you’re getting enough protein and magnesium in. Cannot wait to get shooting again folks! Shortly after we transitioned to Level 2 fate decided I needed a back injury done right, so all plans have had a two week slide put on them, so far. 🌟Real Clothes🌟 Since the call of reality is coming back next week, I thought it best to put on real clothes today! 🤣 To my happiness, I was also pleasantly surprised at how my clothes fit, or rather, that they didn’t, in a good way! 🙌🏼 I keep looking in the mirror and thinking I’m seeing small changes but it’s hard to know on a day to day basis. So it was really exciting to see how my consistency has really started to reap the rewards!! While I am actually terrified about how next week will work out, I’m excited for the challenge!! 💥 Who else is going back to work and/or dreading having to wear real clothes 🙊?

Meal prepping went down today! Lamb satay and butter chicken - both frozen in 1 serve containers with some cauliflower rice. All I need to do is select , heat and add some greens 🥬 . I love being sorted like this - especially with the age Flint is, and being a single Mum, it just gives me a little more time in the evenings (and mornings when need a packed lunch) and ensures I can sit down and eat with him (as opposed to after he’s bathed and asleep). What are some of your favourite meal prepping ideas/dishes? 🍝 Oh - and I cooked my parents a lasagna.... talk about being a #kitchenbitch today!! 😁

This weekend I had the pleasure of having private one-on-one nutrition chats with some incredible people. I applaud those people for their vulnerability and courage. It is certainly not easy or enjoyable to share why we use food to harm or comfort ourselves. The message was the same at the end of all these chats - YES YOU CAN!! It really hit home how low our self-belief can be and how it affects everything we do with our one life. We don’t give up because we are useless; we give up because we don’t believe in ourselves enough.
