Had such a good workout the other day! Do you ever have one of those workouts where everything just seems to fall into place? The right atmosphere, the right music, and the right mindset? That was yesterday! This workout absolutely DESTROYED my glutes!!!! I am so sore today. I didn't have anyone to film this workout for me (I should probably invest in a phone tripod) but I still wanted to share it with you guys. This workout is meant to be a HIT glute workout so really push yourself and try not rest between sets. I took a photo of the workout since the instructions were too long to type on here. Unless you're super crazy. 😜 use heavy duty bands, drive through heels, tension outwards on knees, keep chin tucked and Spine straight. ------------------------------- 10 reps full motion, 10 second hold, 10 babypulses, 10x hold & abductors at top, 10x abductors seated. Every. Day. Counts. 💦 Update: Strong/ healthy/ eating lots of delicious balanced food/ fit and Positive! ----------------------- I've given this prep (starting in February) everything I've had. I have a completely different output on myself, my health and well being. 🙏🏻Not long now and I'm still giving 110% everyday. Despite a few things that have definitely tested me I've stayed as focus as i can and continued my journey. Life happens for us and NOT to us. ------------------------- I'm proud of myself for the amount of time/energy/sacrifice I've put towards this. I didn't think I could do things sometimes but holy shit I've surprised myself and learned that I should NEVER doubt my capabilities. Or anyone for that matter. If we want something, we will work and grind, we won't let anything stop us or get in the way. ✨👊 ---------------------------. I've outdone my efforts towards any training goal I've ever set. Surprisingly is just now a habit, my new lifestyle. I love everything about how this prep has changed my mind & body. I have to thanks my awesome coach @ifbbjudgedre 🙌😇 works magic in all ways. ---------------------------- Our minds, body work as one. Our headspace is most important to control our performance and happiness in life. Do what makes you HAPPY, even if that requires sacrifice and letting anything negative out of your life (people/situations). What did you guys train today?? 🤔 Here I'm doing DB "dumbbell" stiff legged dead lifts. 15x 4 rounds. Great movement to hit your posterior chain. PRIMARILY Glutes & Hamstrings. Secondary Lower back extensor muscles. . . . Ensure to keep your legs SOFTLY bent. Poke your bum back and keep your legs stiff, DO NOT LOCK YOUR KNEES OUT. Feel the stretch in your hamstrings as you go down, drive up, chest up and squeeze you butt HARD at the top through our glutes. - keep heals down, lightly lift toes for more intensity of that stretch. - add a little swing at the bottom (away) from your legs for again added tension to your hamstrings. ✨Meal prep✨ Its something that everyone should do. Weather you're into fitness/ health or not. It's simply keeping you organised, on track, HEALTHY, balanced and not skipping meals nor over eating each day which is a very common issue we endeavour everyday. It's beneficial because when you're utterly tired, you don't want to have to even think about preparing a meal, let alone a healthy meal because "it takes longer". It's much easier to chose a simple option such as take away/ packaged food/ or skip a meal. The meals are already there in your fridge/ freezer ready to be heated up. You can literally prep for months in advance. There's no excuse to not be on track with this sort of organisation. No one lives a on cruise 🚢 lifestyle. We all find our selfs busy, tired, making excuses. -------------------------- ⭕️This took me a few hours: but the hours it's saving me from preparing lunch and dinner everyday is no comparison. ❌MEAL PREP SAVES YOU TIME AND ENERGY & MONEY❌ ---------------------------- On average I'll spend $6-7 per day on 6 meals when I do a bulk buy of food and cook it up/prep it. VS if I brought food as I went each day, spending around $30+ on food for a day. Jesus Christ people you'll spend $4.50/$5 on a coffee everyday. ♨️🤦‍♂️ ---------------------------- Be organised, prepare your meals and be accountable for your health. 3 stages of prep: ☝️✨ . . . These progress shots show not only how far I've come since 2 years ago, But also the phases of prep. ---------------------------- So many people assume that competitions automatically make you lean and beautiful all year round. When reality is you maintain your peak body for only a few short weeks and spend all the rest of the time "building" and have some extra fluff. ------------------------------- All of the photos shown are 1.2.3 prep 1/ 7.8.9 prep 2. &a the middle photos were my "attempted 2nd prep" that I didn't go through with. I started leaner/ got bigger in the middle and then cut down towards comp. You can't expect change over night, remember that it's ok to sacrifice months to change your calories and physic which results in a bit extra fluff. . . . . . In both my preps I put on weight. Muscle and fat, in order to gain some muscle you also need to sacrifice some fat. It's the natural process! I spent around 3-4 months in both my first and current prep "building" which meant looking fluffier. Some days you just got it. ✨💦🤔 Honestly, today I felt so low in energy I met @emilijachristie And said I can tell this is going to be a shit session. 😂 - nek minute. 😲 - smashed sprints too 💦🤘 👌This is why you never give up on days you CBF. We all get them, but people who train and push through them are people who truly want to achieve their goals. You'll surprise yourself! --------------------- Energy levels are dropping towards training. Although I still get really good sessions in, I'm less "looking forward to them" as such. --------------------- Lifting heavier then I ever have in my life, sitting weeks out from comp. 👊 ------------------------ 120kg Hip Thrusts x10 reps/ 2 rounds. To build skills, get fitter, get themselves prepared. (PRE PREP) - Games. They win some, they lose some but they never give up. Speed bumps along the way, injury, players get sick, they lose some games, they win some. (PREP) - Grand final: Everything they have worked for has come to this day. All the failure, success, blood, sweat and consistency through hard times. (GOALS) ----------------------------- A. . . . I started my pre prep in February this year. #64kg ------------------------ Why is it important to do a pre prep? - Typically people assume that they can just go from point B to point C not realising that they have not started point A. Point A (pre preps) not just for competition but for general goals are probably THE MOST ESSENTIAL PART TO ANY GOAL. ------------------------------ ✨It is SO important to asses your goals, know what it takes to get there and set your body physically up to the most optimal starting point it possibly can be at. - Intake UP, - Metabolism UP, - Room to move with training, - consistency UP, - Knowledge on your bodies response towards carbs/fats/protein/calories/training methods factored in.✨ --------------------------- B. . . . . Prep stage: Prepare your body to start cutting fat. After you have built up your muscle mass for a few months. ✨Shoutout to @nicole_paterson ✨ Smashing training and eating this week & since day 1. She was really anxious to take on everything when I sent the info out to her but she was eager then ever to get started. . . . After a few weeks Nicole's metabolism is slowly speeding up. Training confidence and technique is UP. Knowledge and understanding is there towards her goals. When Nicole came to me she was Keto (high fat & low carb diet) eating around 1000/1200 calories or even less a day. Training literally everyday with high intensity cardio training. Fast forward 6 weeks down the track: 1950 calories/ 4/5 days a week WEIGHTS and some HIIT 1 day a week. Eating all the carbs and enjoying food! . . . . Re setting a metabolism and body functions to take carbs back on and re adjust your body to different training takes time and consistency. It's the hardest thing as a person to do (coming from experience) because ideally you don't want to have to spend months re setting your intakes and training to put yourself in an optimal position before you focus on fat loss. But time is showing small changes and things WILL change if you stick to it and trust the process. Putting your trust and almost to some extent your biggest fears in someone's hands can be absolutely frightening and hard. But this is something that I can always help with if you truly want the help. Progress takes time and years to perfect your body. Not only physically but mentally/ from the inside out. Let's talk rib cages (❓🤔❓) I know, strange topic opener...but just bare with me (although they aren't that prominent in this photo). Not necessarily within the fitness community but in our wider circles, people are very quick to tell others off for fat shaming. It is completely socially "unacceptable" to fat shame someone as they should be able to feel comfortable in their own skin. I know people will have opposing views on this topic, however society are also very quick to judge - verbally might I add- people that appear "underweight/too skinny". Why is it that people/society think it's okay to name call people "anorexic" but they would never call someone obese to their face? Is it because deep down they want to be that skinny? Or they themselves desire that body figure? I know this may seem completely irrelevant to some, and some of you may not be able to relate- that's okay. But when I was in school I was always called "anorexic" in the girls changing rooms and it was somehow supposed to be some hidden compliment?? 🤔🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ My reply was always that anorexia is a mental illness- it's not just diagnosed and based on your physical appearance. It was very insulting to hear as I've always been healthy and taken care of myself and I've always had a healthy relationship with food. I then started to become very self conscious of any bones you could see in my body, my rib cage, my hip bones etc. Even though health wise I was doing nothing wrong, it was just to do with my genes and the fact I've never carried that much body fat. If I hadn't had quite a healthy body image this could have had quite a lasting impact on me and I'm sure it has on other people. Although I can understand why people make these comments (because they are ill informed) it is still something we need to change. Just because "stereotypically" the anorexic body type is closer to the "desired body image" does not mean it is okay to throw names and insults at people who appear "too skinny". It is just as insulting and degrading as calling someone out for being fat. So please please please, think before you make any kind of remark about someone's body type !
