With such a huge part of our world currently under some kind of lock down measure, many of us have been staying at home, and probably making plenty of adjustments to our current lifestyles. . To be honest, I think the whole COVID19 pandemic has certainly presented each of us with an opportunity to reflect and think about the way that we have been living so far. Personally, I've always considered myself to be a night owl 🦉. I genuinely ❤️ the idea of working late at nights 🌃 or gaming till 4am 🎮. I felt that night times are usually the most peaceful. . But here's the thing, I've been living this way for so long, it has just became a new normal for me. And it hasn't been doing my body and health any favors. By sleeping really late at nights, it has somehow affected my immune system (over time). And that is definitely a cause for concern now during this time. . Which is why I've been making an effort to rest earlier every night and to get up earlier in the day. The key is to make sure I get enough sleep. And in the time that I'm awake, I'll do my best to be more productive. . I do foresee, that in the near future, there will still be times when I may need to work late again. But I cannot allow it to become a lifestyle. . This is honestly going to be quite an adjustment. So far, I'm still struggling quite abit during the day. Here are some great tips from @who on home care for people with suspected or confirmed COVID19: ✅ If you are ill with fever and cough you should clean hands 🙌 frequently with soap and water or with alcohol-based hand rub. ✅ Stay at home; do not attend work, school or public places. Rest 🛌, drink plenty of fluids and eat nutritious food. ✅ Stay in separate room from other family members, but if not possible wear a medical mask 😷 and keep a distance of at least 1 meter (3 feet) from other people. Keep the room well-ventilated and if possible use a dedicated bathroom. ✅ When coughing or sneezing, cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or use disposable tissue 🤧 and discard after use. Checking in guys! How do you start off or end your days? I like to start and end my days with self reflection! It encourages me to bring myself into a positive and optimistic mindset...even when I’m not feeling my best. I do a lot of self-talk (aka an excuse to talk to myself). . . It goes a little something like this: “Hey Chidinma (I also talk in third person 😂), how are you feeling? What are you grateful for today, big or small? What is something that you’d you be happy to get done today? Just remember, you have the power to create positive change in your life! Don’t let one mistake define you! You are strong! You are worth it! You can accomplish your goals! Just trust God and put in the work!” . . Self-talk is an awesome psychological tool help process your emotions and can have a positive affect on your perspective. Try it sometime!
