Chase progress⁣ ⁣ If fat loss is your goal, building muscle, feeling more confident, looking better in your clothes (or with them off) then you should still be aiming to make progress with your performance ⁣ ⁣ This could mean building bodyweight strength in the form of push ups, pull ups etc ⁣ ⁣ This could be increasing your aerobic capacity and being able to run faster/ further or simply not be out of breath at the top of the stairs⁣ ⁣ In my case here it’s improving my squat strength, control and quality of movement⁣ ⁣ In the past, back squats have always been something I’ve struggled with; injuries, setbacks and just bad habits from back in the meathead days ⁣ ⁣ Now most of them issues have been solved it’s game on. They’re tough as f*ck but you know when you’re at the bottom and get right back up there’s a very good feeling about it at the top 😅⁣ ⁣ I have a goal this year to get a double bodyweight back squat so assuming things can keep going as they are, then that should be achievable 🤞🏻⁣ ⁣ There’s only so far winging it will get ya. *REDUCE THE APPEARANCE OF CELLULITE* Cellulite is a common complaint among women and is NOT a bad thing in my opinion. You can't necessarily get rid of cellulite, but we can help reduce the appearance of it by drinking plenty of water, eating foods that are anti-inflammatory, and doing workouts to target the area (You can't spot reduce fat, but you definitely work on "toning" the muscle). . ✔Cable pull-throughs: you wanna always focus on keeping your back straight. Keep your chin tucked and drive up with the glutes. Superset with the second exercise. . ✔Elevated cable deadlifts: same as the pull throughs, except the cable is in front of you, and you're elevated on a step to get a bigger stretch through your glutes and hammies. . ✔Single leg deadlifts: I use the bench to keep the focus and tension on my glutes. Some may disagree with this method, but IT WORKS FOR ME. Superset with next exercise. . ✔Dumbbell stiffleg deadlifts: 1 and one half = 1 rep! L.I.I.T Longer Interval Intensity Training I always get asked what cardio I do an I actually love running. You don’t need to run to burn fat, you need to find something you like doing and just keep doing it. Lots. The way I see the biggest changes in my body is when I combine weights with cardio and the protocol I use for cardio is ‘LIIT.’ Give it a go with any exercise of your choice but if you’re up for a challenge get this done on the treadmill: - 6 minutes @16kmph, incline 1.5 - 2 minutes walking recovery @3kmph Repeat 4 times. Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. At the end of last year I was forced to slow down, life literally put me on my butt and forced me to evaluate everything I was doing on a daily basis. Friday will be 8 weeks since my sledding accident and my surgery. It’s been a difficult road, but everyday I get more and more excited about the beautiful future ahead...and being able to walk without my crutches. I’m visualizing this day and can’t wait for it to come! Until I’m back on my feet doing squats and lunges, here’s another upper body and ab blaster for you to conquer! 3 rounds, 16-20 reps of each movement (8-10 reps per arm before switching).
