ARMS! From day 1 my arms have sucked. I have never been genetically gifted with huge guns. I’ve done heavy weights, light weights, high reps, low reps, trained them every day you name it, I’ve done it to bring them up and nothing made a huge difference. I’ve now found a training plan I enjoy with arms thrown in at the end of a Push and Pull routine. I hate having an ‘arm day’ - tried it and again nothing changed. So how did they grow? What did I do? Nothing... I train heavy every single session on each body part and throw them in at the end because I feel like it. I stopped obsessing over a single body part. Eventually they grew as I made progress with every other body part. PATIENCE! It took me years to make a difference but I was consistent and patient and eventually it paid off. @testosteronenation nation ran this poll the other day and I had to crack up at the results...because it’s TRUE!! Honestly, 90% of personal trainers SUCK! It’s hard to find a good trainer! Working as a trainer for years I’ve met all the shitty kinds! You got the 1- fit person who “likes” working out but doesn’t love it (probably have done a bikini show 5 years ago and still talk about getting back on stage again “someday” 😂) and the only reason they’re a trainer is to make money so they have no passion for their clients 2- the book smart person who has the kinesiology degree, 3 different certifications, but has absolutely no people skills and no clue how to motivate anyone 3- the perky peppy trainer, who has great people skills, knows how to keep people engaged, but doesn’t actually know that much about building programs or the science behind it and there for their clients never see any real results 4- the fake “hardcore” trainer, the one who yells at their clients, tells them no days off, no excuses, but yet they’re the first person you’ll see skip a workout because their “sore” I’ve been around the game for a long time, and seen all different kinds of trainers, and trust me it’s HARD to find a good trainer! Gym’s treat trainers like cogs in a machine because honestly most of them are EXTREMELY replaceable! And the ones that aren’t replaceable usually realize they can do better on their own or at a smaller club than they can at a big box gym!(good luck finding a good trainer at lifetime, la, or anytime 🤷🏼‍♂️) Personally, I pride myself on being the rare good trainer! That means putting in the hours outside of work, learning new things, talking to other trainers, just constantly evolving and going the extra mile! I don’t view what I do as “work” because it’s my passion and I love doing it! I’m not telling you to ditch your trainer for me, but I am telling you to be careful who you give your money to, and who you trust as your trainer, cuz if you find the rare 10% of us that are good not only will you reach your goals but you’ll learn to love that process! Learn to spot the good from the bad!

So here is months of hard work for my client @____missgee____ I will post the measurements & weight difference at a later date but the pictures speak for themselves. Georgina has not been starved or deprived of food groups. Yes she has done cardio as well as 5 PT sessions a week BUT she has not exhausted herself and there are no negative impacts on her health at all, only positive ones. . She is healthy & full of energy every day. . The weight loss has been slow and gradual but the weight will stay off! . I may be a hypocrite for saying this as I have competed for 5 years but to me this is what the health and fitness industry should be about. Real people, living real lives who simply want to be a better be a better version of themselves and achieving real sustainable results 👌 . Well done girl!

This is a REALLY hard post for me that I’ve been contemplating for awhile and I’m anxious just typing this. BUT I know no one wants to talk about mental health and it’s so important. As I started to question my “why” for competing again- I remembered how I felt texting my mom that night (swipe). . . Although to some, competing may seem crazy and some may do it for followers, likes attention and all that but for me... it freakin lights me up. I jump out of bed excited every morning. The gym has truly helped me mentally SO much more than physically and competing? It’s just fun to go fight my anxiety and fear head on and no matter the outcome I get stronger. That’s a win! . . Always here to talk if anyone’s struggling- what lights you up?? Find it and go after it! Thanks for not judging me and letting me share; as we all have struggles and no ones alone!
