At home workouts you can literally do right off of your couch. Here are some core workouts you can try out that target it entirely! Remember to keep an open chest and no arching. You want to activate your core so hold it tight and no slouching. Place your butt right at the very edge of your coach and have a slight lean back without touching your back cushions. Give them a try. 4 rounds 45 seconds each. I had planned to post a picture like this yesterday with a big smile saying I passed. Never really thought I'd fail my test. Expecially by ONE point. But decides I'd still post a picture of my failure because failure is part of success and I think it's just as important to share our failures as it is our success. We get a distorted idea of what success is because we only see people post their success. I was really upset yesterday which I allowed myself to feel those feelings then today I've picked myself back up and starting over. I believe this will make me a better personal trainer and has put me exactly where I'm suppose to be even though I'm not sure where that is yet. We need to stop blaming sources for our dilemmas: carbs, sweets, alcohol etx! Our obesity epidemic is due to the fact that no one holds us accountable for our actions- WE EAT TOO MUCH. Once we recognize the GIANT elephant 🐘 in the room, we can begin to educate and learn better habits. Alcohol isn't good for us, but it's not the reason why we're fat. First picture is when I lost my first 50 pounds 5 months after having my second child. Second picture is 3 yrs afterwards. Today's my first day of furlough and it felt a bit weird. Every day I've got up and gone into work as normal, so I've had structure in my day, today I didn't and it did throw me. So I made a plan! I've started my @21dayfix again and even managed to crack out the 5kgs! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ It was upper fix today and it felt good to be back exercising! Later I went on a walk, I managed about 3 miles but it was a struggle. My lungs have been left with some scarring after having bronchitis and I'm still trying to get over my latest chest infection, so any activity leaves my lungs quite tight and I end up coughing a lot. But the coughing means no one comes anywhere near me πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚! I've also done a plan for my @futurefittraining studying. It's helped to organise everything and I feel like I have more of a structure now, so hopefully tomorrow I won't feel so lost. But I did notice people are still flaunting the rules in the nature reserve! Guys please pay attention to them! Over 6000 people have died from this, with probably many more to come. We aren't being asked to do anything that is hard and the sooner we do it, the sooner we can get on top of it and the sooner we can get our lives back! Now I'm gonna tell you off here, not in a β€˜this isn't good enough kind of way,’ but more in a β€˜we need to do better kind of way.’ . A big part of selling is understanding your market place and anticipating their needs. . There's some really useful information on the NHS website, it said that we spend on average 9 hours a day seated; this includes children doing their homework, adults working at the computer, people playing video games, eating, watching TV, and as you may know as a fitness professional, being inactive is linked to being overweight, obesity, diabetes, early death, even in some cases. . Now since this lockdown, that 9 hours of inactivity and being seated is highly likely to have gone up, which means it's an even bigger problem. . If you were talking to the market place you'd know that lower back problems are on the rise, because of muscle wastage basically, you know, β€˜if you don’t use it you lose it.’ . But do you know what to LπŸ‘€K for? I've seen it tons of times, learners (and qualified FitPros) moving around to view the client from another angle, take a quick flash with their eyes and then go back to where they were standing. They haven't taken time to REALLY look at their client and they dont know WHAT they are looking for This is something we teach on our Level 3 PT course and describe it as the πŸ’€Human X-Ray machineπŸ’€ Kinda like an X-Ray machine you can take clear snap shots of your client, really analysing the shape their body is making in space and making comparisons. There are many deep layers to effectively analysing your client, however here's the first step to go and practice: TASK: Move to the back of your client and look fat key joints, analysing differences between the Left and Right side: - Does one foot turn out more? - Does one knee bend more? - Are the hips level? - Does the spine rotate more to the left? - Does the Right arm splay out? - Does the shoulder elevate? Note down the differences and then start to talk to your client, asking if they have had any injuries or tightness. This will build up a detailed picture of your client's alignment and technique A picture that is just as detailed as an X-RAYπŸ’€ Build on this picture by observing how they move in all exercises and looking for trends. This often relates to muscles that are tight or weak in the body and can easily be rectified with stretching and activation exercises. Therefore when observation is done properly (and in detail) you can use this data to influence your planning an improve client performance. Will you have a go at this task? URGENT NUTRITION ADVICE PEOPLE NEED😑 . Right now people's eating habits are undergoing change, they're overeating out of boredom or to feed their emotions, or the fact with so much loss of control in their life, what they eat is one of very few areas remaining where an element of control can still be exerted. . Who can blame them...these uncertain times have created new fears around family health and job security. . A good solution to offer people right now is to increase their protein intake or if it doesn't need increasing to at least keep it constant. . No, not to make gains silly, but because it is satiating. . By keeping people full longer they're less likely to snack on foods that aren't serving them best. . It would also be helpful for them to ensure they have some low calorie options available should the urge to snack arise. . If people get out of this period of lockdown being more overweight, then we as fitness professionals charged with guarding against that will have to take some responsibility, so let's make a joint effort to not let it happen on our watch.✌🏼 . . . . . . . . . .
