Looking at these photos frustrates me but in a good way as I’m frustrated that these body parts lack so much but that frustration is what I will use to push and drive me in my training. In the first one I’m in the middle, in the purple trunks. 2 to my left is the guy that came first and two to the right is the guy that came second. Look at their lats ha ha amazing! While my back my look good, it lacks that width. This will be my motivation to push myself and grow these wings. Second photo is the same deal, same two guys but look at how my chest fails in comparison to theirs. I have 3 things I need to work on and improve for my next show: 1. Chest 2. Back 3. Conditioning

Let’s talk...R E C O V E R Y The recovery period following your workout is just as important as the workout itself. That’s because your body needs ample time to rest in order to repair muscles, replenish energy, and reduce post-workout soreness. There is no point in doing a great session, working hard but then not being able to do anything for 3 days because you are too sore. Your recovery starts as soon as your session is finished, heres my quick 3 tips for muscle recovery to get back to you next session strong! 1) KEEP MOVING: Active recovery is any gentle movement that you use to aid recovery, like walking, stretching or performing exercise at a very low intensity. Its primary use is to help facilitate the movement of lactate that builds up in your muscles during intense exercise.. If you sit at a desk during the day, try to work with the 20:20 rule, for every 20 minutes you sit get up and move around for 20 seconds. 2) WATER WATER WATER - Drink Up! 💦 💦 Drinking plenty of water and staying hydrated. Studies have shown staying hydrated can decrease the severity of DOMS (post-workout soreness) as well as assist with muscle repair and growth. 3) FOAM ROLLER OR SELF MASSAGE (or con your partner/friend into giving you a massage 😜) Using either a foam roller or massage ball, give yourself a gentle massage. Spend at least 30-60 seconds rolling your sore muscle groups when you wake up, before bed, and any time you can spare during the day. Only the beginning - I have the privilege of training this gentlemen for the last five weeks where we have focused solely on getting his body moving better (some shoulder issues as well as lower back) and his health in check - working crazy hours and being a dad. Now fast forward to now he has lost 20mm of fat (3.3% body fat down) and is eating more then before! And we haven't even begun his fat loss phase yet 💪🏼💪🏼😜 at Surge Health And Fitness

The STRONGEST factor for success is SELF ESTEEM: Believing you can do it; Believing you deserve it; and Believing you will get it! . At 3 weeks out from my next comp I can confidently say I am a much healthier & happier person this time around, compared to last season! . My training's been much the same as last prep & I reached poverty macro status once again, but what's different this time around is my MINDSET and self belief. . I worked really hard on that whole #selflove thing & boosting my self-esteem during my off season. My reverse didn't go so well & I reached a weight I'd not seen since long before I first lifted a dumbbell. . I had to fight some inner demons to convince myself that my identity & worth came from more than just fitness, or the way I looked. Overtime I can hand on heart ♥️ say I learned the value of self acceptance, completely shifting my mindset, and the way I act and feel towards myself. . My biggest fear starting prep again was losing that positive headspace & becoming brainwashed by the appearance of abs & shredded delts as I leaned down. . I made a promise to stay grounded & remind myself I am MORE than a number, or my appearance. . Last prep I stood in front of the mirror and picked myself apart over every skeric of BF hanging on. This year I've liked the person staring back at me EVERY TIME I've looked in the mirror. . Each week, regardless of my 'statistical' progress, my feelings towards myself, my body image & my esteem haven't waivered. . So regardless of the outcome in 3 weeks time, I'm going into this competition proud. Proud of the positive shift I made in my mind, which has positively flowed into all aspects of my life ✌🏼🌻 . Happiness is an inside job! All you need to do is believe 😊♥️ . #rensrambles #mindsetgains

Here is a dowel/stick drill that might help you make your kettlebell swings better. When you patterned your hip hinge well, you will surely have a better time with the swings. Here is what you will do: 👇👇👇 ✔Grab a long stick and have it on the front of the hips ✔Fold at the hips so the stick can get sucked into the fold. ✔Look ahead and see if you can make the stick stay in the hips as seen in the video ✔Drive your hips forward against the stick Once you got the hang of it, test your swings. Make sure you know how to swing first before you test your swings.
