Last week all of my 2020 planners arrived... Yes, there were multiple 🙊 One for the Cranston household and one for Pure. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I, of course, got my trusty @emmakateco planner again this year. These planners are the prettiest you'll find on the market (well I think so anyway 💕), and there is so much space in them to write down all of our family schedules, to-do lists and even meal plans. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I also got my hands on the @saintbelford 2020 Curation, as my designated Pure planner. Curation is a little different to your typical diary, with a focus on helping you live better everyday. Not only is there plenty of space to write all my appointments and to-do's but there are self-care prompts to make sure I take time out of my busy day to look after me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So yep, you could say I am sorted and 2020 I am ready for you! I was so blown away by this random act of kindness I experienced last month...🤗🤗🤗⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ I was trying to pay for parking and the card reader wasn't working. Long story short, the woman behind me dropped $6 in my hand and smiled. ⁠🙌⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ That same afternoon as I drove back home, still smiling ear to ear that this kind woman had paid for my parking, I made a wrong turn and found myself a little lost. I'd only recently moved to Geelong so I wasn't overly familiar with the streets. 🙈⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ My phone had died, so I couldn't turn maps on. Instead of getting frustrated, I just accepted it and thought wouldn't it be awesome if I could get back home without maps? HEY! 👋 For those who are new here, we’re Tom and Alex—the couple behind Saint Belford!⁠⠀⁠⠀ ⁠⠀⁠⠀ We’re just two twenty-eight year olds living in Geelong, making 2020 planners for a living and helping you keep self-care on top of your to-do list.⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Why?⁠⠀ ⁠⠀⁠⠀ Because back in 2017, I couldn’t find a planner that was MORE than just a to-do list. The most last-minute decision we made that paid off big time...⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Did you know Sage Green (AKA the most loved colour in our collection this year) was a spontaneous last minute decision?⁠ 😆⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ We were in China, preparing to meet with our suppliers for the first time to walk through the factory, learn about the processes, explain our criteria and confirm the materials/colours we wanted to proceed with for our 2020 collection. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ 🤗WE WERE SO EXCITED!⁠🤗⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ I was going through my binder of swatches and I had already made up my mind on the Royal Blue, Signature Black and... Emerald Green. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ The next morning, I woke up and I looked at the same swatches again and thought, I'm feeling the Sage Green—a colour Tom and I had not previously debated AT ALL. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ It was a gut instinct and I followed it. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ The lesson here is to trust your gut. 📣Are you asking for help when you need it most?⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ I know that sometimes my pride/fear of being "too needy" can get in the way of asking for help. I'm sure you feel it too, right?⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ What we need to remember when our pride/fear steps in is that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. It means you're wise enough to admit you don't have all the answers and that's OKAY. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ And you know what else? It brings us closer together. It reminds us that we're not alone in whatever we're going through.⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ In whatever shape or form you might be struggling, give yourself permission to ask for help.
