Quick beach workout. Everything is harder in sand so make sure to focus on form and controlled movements. Repeat below set 4-6 times. Reps: Go until failure your first set (while keeping proper form) then try to get to that repetition for the remaining sets. 1. Lunges (curtsy or regular forward/backward) 2. Jump squats 3. Some strength and plyometric work before playing 18 yesterday. Banded hex bar deadlifts with 275 and 33 inch box jumps 5 rounds followed by clean and jerks with broad jumps. PART 3⏺️ Pull-Push Pull-ups are arguably the greatest indicator of relative strength. If you want to do Pull-ups you must practice them often! You cannot expect to get a Pull-up if you are not strength training or never get on a pull-up bar. Pull-ups are quite the intimidating exercise, but like Optimus Prime has taught us, we can make small changes and improvements over time that will result in the ultimate goal: One. Freaking. Pull Up. It will take a combination of two things to get your chin up over that bar: ⏺️Decreasing body fat so you have less weight to pick up! ⏺️Increasing strength to pick up your bodyweight and move above the bar! Glad I stopped doing these isolated “shoulder mobility” drills that are “industry standard”. All they ever did was exacerbate my existing injuries and they always felt wrong. I blindly did all sorts of exercises for the sake of "mobility". As you can see, all I was doing was ripping my scapulae away from my ribcage and grinding them against each other. I thought I was feeling restricted because I needed more shoulder mobility, but what I really needed was for my shoulder movements to connect to the rest of my body. . Training for mobility in isolation only leads to isolating that body part in movement . Second video is me today. Still more work needs to be done to fix the damage I did to myself but I'm getting there. I'm feeling and looking more connected than ever. . #repost by @functionalpatterns “If the body has the capability of performing 10s of thousands of variations of integrated motions with ballistic myofascial force transmissions, what happens when you create 100 isolated mobilizations that do the exact opposite? . . Meaning that for every tissue you stretch, your body lays down a cast of fascia somewhere to adjust.
