During the fat loss journey, don't be afraid of the scale! 😱📈 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Your weight will fluctuate up and down, however don't be worried that it's actual "fat" gain! 📉 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Most of the time the weight gain on the scale is due to the food and water you have eaten during the day, waste produced and maybe some fat (but nothing major). 👍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Your weight is also dependent on the time of day you weigh yourself. You're lighter in the morning (and after you go to the toilet), and obviously heavier after you've eaten. Unrealistic serving sizes. A case in point. . . 🥥 CoYo is a popular coconut “yogurt alternative” it’s sold in 250g pots with 2.5 servings per pot. Does anyone actually eat yogurt like this?? . 🇬🇷 In comparison a Total full fat Greek yogurt like is sold in a 170g pot with 1 serving per pot. . . 🤔 So what’s the problem? Let’s look at the nutritional profile of the two yogurts . 🇬🇷 yogurt contains 158 calories per pot and per 100g ➡️ 5g fat/4g saturated fat ➡️ 3g sugar ➡️ 9g protein . 🥥 milk yogurt contains 595kcal per pot and per 100g ➡️ 23g fat/20g saturated fat ➡️ 3.3g sugar ➡️ 1g protein . The 🥥 yogurt has a smaller serving size as its nutritional profile is in between single and double cream. These products generally have serving sizes of just 30g though. . . As it’s marketed as a yogurt you generally eat a larger quantity than you would cream. . It was captioned saying that ‘his and hers’ meal pictures are crap because you don’t have to eat less just because you’re a girl... # What a load of shit. 💩 # Of course you don’t have to eat less than your partner JUST because you’re a girl! There’s more to it than gender! # Simply being female doesn’t mean you’re automatically not-entitled to eat as much as a man. However, more often than not this is the case! Here’s why... # 👉The following things (there are other, smaller factors) make the most difference to how many calories you should intake: # 1️⃣ Total body weight- women are usually (not always!) smaller and lighter than men. If the woman is larger and more active, they will require more. # 2️⃣ NEAT- Non-exercise activity thermogenesis. Everything that burns calories other than exercise # 3️⃣ Calories burned during exercise. # 👉It’s about science, not gender. My his/hers posts have NOTHING to do with sexism. # My posts simply highlight the difference between two meals from two people who vary in all three of the above points (I’m nearly 40kg heavier than my partner). # It just so happens that I’m male and [email protected] is female. Todays meat haul. There was 20% discount on everything I got and I was so happy that Coles had red meat discounted rather than chicken. It’s my least favorite job portioning out the meat but it definitely worth the time and effort. I tidied out the freezer and put everything in date order so we use up the meat we got a while back first. Home from work! 👩🏻‍🔬👏🏼 it was a pretty good day just sooooo smokey 💨😭 - On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the most high risk) health Canada has the air quality set at 10+ 😟 - When I get home from my shift I’m usually starving lol thank goodness for portion control containers 🙏🏼 because this meal was already planned out and I find when I’m ravenous.... everything goes out the window if I don’t have a plan 😂 anyone else??? 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️ - Dinner is 1 💛, 1 💚 1.5 ❤️, 1 💙 and 1 🧡!! #eattherainbow 😉 - A double decker egg open faced Sammy with 2 eggs chicken breast cheese and broccoli and dip - DAILY TIP: drink at least 1 cup of water before each meal. This isn’t to trick yourself but rather to hydrate your body appropriately. Chances are you haven’t drank quite enough water during the day and some of your hunger is just thirst! If you make it a rule, you’re less likely to over eat unnecessarily 💦 - While I was keto.. I cut out bread completely, yet I could eat 500 calories a meal 😑 when I counted macros, it took me so long to weigh my food I was savage beast by the time it was tracked. - Following my containers.. I just fill em up or tap a container color in my app and boom, done. Love pasta but worried it leads to weight gain? 🍝😯 That’s total BS. 🙄 It’s all about the portions. You can have pasta (or anything, really) as often as you want, just keep the portion to a handful or so per meal (more if you’re really active). ✅That amount will look pretty sad in your bowl, so bulk it up by serving with tons of veggies!!! Tonight I did plenty of yellow summer squash, zucchini and cremini mushrooms 🍄 in crushed tomatoes 🍅 with garlic, oregano and basil 🌿. Don’t forget to add some protein whether its ground turkey, chicken, shrimp or tofu. You can also use whole grain pasta for fiber or lentil pasta for some extra protein too. 💪 And I gotta have some fresh parm 🧀 - - - ⁉️Is pasta on your menu? Why or why not? at Chicago, Illinois

Some days a little bit goes a long way! It has been 20 months Post Bariatric Surgery and I still cannot eat rice or more than a teaspoon- 10grams. I am comfortable with that 98% of the time! Today I felt like chicken Kiev and rice so made it happen. The first photo is the normal serving size! The second photo is what is left, after I reach feeling full! I enjoyed what I ate! It filled my craving and it will be a long time before I have it again! Let’s talk #portioncontrol ✨ What you #eat and #howmuch you eat #matters . The problem with obesity and unhealthy eating habits epidemic is not only related to what we feed our bodies, but also to the portion sizes. We simply overeat, filling our bodies with too much food all at once. Restaurant portion sizes are outrageous, so are take out meals and fast food meals. We grab an entire bag of chips, cookies and popcorn 🍿 to watch our favorite tv 📺 show instead of actual serving size or one cookie 🍪. We often do the same to our children. ☹️🙁 The domino effect continues and so does the obesity and high medical costs epidemic. Yes, EPIDEMIC! It’s not something I came up with, it’s a FACT! #truth #statistics ✨ Next time you visit a restaurant or order take out, pay attention to how much you have on your plate and how much of the food you should actually consume. Share it with your spouse, a coworker or leave half of it for later. Next time you pick a bag of popcorn 🍿, put some in a zip lock baggie or bowl instead of grabbing the whole bag before sitting in front of tv 📺. Next Time you bake cookies 🍪, have one or two and put the rest in a container for the next day. Do your children a favor by teaching them the same healthy habits and portion control knowledge. They will thank you as they grow up. Let them have that cookie, that gummy bear baggie, that pop corn, that french fry 🍟 or pizza, but teach them to balance it with a veggie, a fruit bowl, a cup of water 💦, a good source of fiber and protein and healthy fat. ✨ Life is not about depriving yourself or your children from certain foods. Life is about living in balance, taking care of your body, your health, your mind and teaching these same habits to your loved ones. Dinner tonight was: Chicken bacon rice bowls👍👍 I got this recipe from @paleomg website and it was so easy to make!! It works perfectly with my meal plan. For dinner, I need to eat ❤️💚🧡 So, this recipe has protein, veggies, and no oil except from the turkey bacon which was not a lot at all. 🤤 ᑕOᑌᔕᑕOᑌᔕ ᔕᗩᒪᗰOᑎ ᖇEᑕIᑭE 🤤 . . . Thank you for the positive vibes about sharing the recipe. Here it comes 🤗 ᔕEᖇᐯEᔕ 4 IᑎGᖇEᗪIEᑎTᔕ 🍴150g dry couscous (300ml boiling water) 🍴3 red bell peppers 🍴1 Aubergine 🍴2 courgettes 🍴3 red onions 🍴4 salmon fillets 🍴olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, nutmeg, dry coriander ______________________________________ ᗰETᕼOᗪOᒪOGY: 🔥chop all veggies into approximately 2cm squares (onion included) while you heat up the oven on 180degrees Celsius 🔥place veggies on tray and drizzle with olive oil and some black pepper and low-sodium salt 🔥boil water for the couscous and measure out 150g dry couscous and place in a deep dish. When water has boiled measure the 300ml and add into the heat proof deep dish with the dry couscous and cover with a thick towel after you stirred it all. Tip: add some turmeric and make your couscous look bright yellow. 💛 🔥 when veggies are ready according to your preferences take them out of the oven and place the 4 salmon fillets on a tray with paprika, salt, dry coriander and a bit of black pepper and then place into oven for not longer than 12 minutes 🤓 🔥while salmon is cooking take the towel off the couscous , stir and start adding all the veggies and mix it all together - add any extra salt if you need it ☺️ or add some lemon juice for that enhancing flavour. 🔥 place on a plate and when salmon is ready add it on top. 🔥Ready to eat now ! Zucchini pesto roll ups This recipe is from @paleomg and the pesto sauce is from #fixatecookingshow This combination of ingredients was fantastic!! Every bite was so juicy and flavorful 😋 The wrap is cooked zucchini that was thin sliced. Inside I put, on each slice, 1/2 tsp of fixate pesto sauce and rolled the home made chicken hot dog. You should try it!!!👍👍
