Me & the boys have survived nearly 2 weeks of lockdown. Not going to say its been easy. Sometimes its been a laugh. We’ve done loads together. Its been nice. Others, my God, the tantrums! Glad I got myself out for half an hour walking. Didn’t feel up to it really, my head was all over the place last night and was feeling pretty low and I did this morning too, but forced myself to go for a walk and felt better within 10 seconds of being outside 👍🏼 can’t stress enough how important it is to keep your mind as positive as possible in this tough time. It’s so easy to let yourself go to a dark place! The fundamental importance of exercise for both our physical and mental health is, thankfully, something that has been recognised and protected at this difficult time. Today I went out on my bike for my daily exercise and I think there were more bikes than cars on the roads, plus I have never seen so many women cyclists out! Support to prepare for birth is more important than ever right now, as many women are feeling scared about embarking on their birth and postpartum journeys during Covid-19. Indeed we find ourselves in an unprecedented time, yet babies will not stop coming and we can still welcome them from a place of joy and love. I posted yesterday about becoming attuned to our bodies and how slowing down has been really good for my mental health. But dare I say, and I don’t have anything really to back this up... I believe this forced slow down could be very good for my fertility. ⁣Hear me out.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ My husband and I are preparing for baby #2. He or she could come biologically or through adoption, it doesn’t matter to us. But I do feel the intense urge to at least try biologically for a period of time first. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ My heart cries out to carry a child. It yearns to have the opportunity to bond with my child before meeting him or her in person and my heart aches to offer my body as nourishment to the tiny human. I want to be a biological mother so much. We have to at least give it another big try. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ And here’s the kicker: as much as I ache to carry my next child, I am feeling a bit fearful of starting that journey all over again. The journey that brought me to tears most months, just for the day I found out I’m not pregnant. The journey that was hard for my husband to watch me go through. The journey which included endless NOs to the question we kept asking and then the journey that slammed us into the most precious, incredible, heart splitting miracle of our lives. That miracle who sleeps in the room down the hall from me as I type this and who may have a future sibling that I almost can’t bear the thought of sharing my heart with (because surely as much as I love my son there just won’t be enough for another child). ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ And God gives us this forced slow down. Always smack dab in the middle of our plans.⁣ ⁣⁣ And so I slow myself. I collect my supplements and my variety of seeds (look up “seed cycling”) and my doctors appts and oils, and my lists of other things I plan to try this round. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I’m listening to my breath. To my tension. To my God. I’m ready to begin a new journey and equally scared of where it will lead. But I do know that the kindest thing I can do now is pay attention to my body, feed it with good things, and give it what it’s crying out for. ⁣⁣ ⁣ Where is God meeting you?⁣ I’d love to hear your story, and I’ll keep you updated on mine.

Morning folks - we’re just heading into our fourth week of staying at home. Last weekend we decided to make the weekends different, by starting our Scrabble League to replace the Saturday football and a game of chess on Sunday. Today I’ve decided to go a step further. I know this isn’t for everyone, but it helps me and it might help someone else. I need lists. I have an ongoing todo list with sections for work, home, me etc. Thing is, as soon as we were aware we’d been staying at home I went through the list to see what I could get done - pretty much everything on the list! In practice I’ve found myself methodically working through the list prioritising as I go. All good? Not quite. Ticking the things off is rewarding yes, but one thing we have is time, no need to rush. So from today I’ve made a weekend list, no work, household stuff yes, but I’ve picked things I can enjoy at the weekend without reading the other things, the ‘weekday to do list’ is put away now until Monday. I've received my donor card in the post and while it's great, it's also a weird feeling to think about ahead in case you pass away. But it is utterly important to think and talk about it with your family and your partner. I had a in-depth chat with both my partner and my mum to let them know about my decision. I've realised this is an opportunity for me to make a choice. Get fat or Get fit. How many of you have considered this? If you are at home and you can choose what you do, which would be your choice? If I don't move and burn some energy I know it will be bad for my mental and physical health. I'm lucky I'm a person that is quite happy with people or by myself but I cannot spend 6 months or more sitting on my butt. This is not a reflection on anyone else just some food for thought. 💜

Routines are a great thing, until they’re not. When I’ve had my tumbling tower moments - when old foundations, beliefs, ways of doing things or relationships/friendships come crashing down - getting some sort of order into my life was very important. It’s got me back on my feet and helped me get focused again. But I’ve learned that hard way that the key to routines is being flexible. My routine became to steadfast, running at 150 mile a hour organising, doing, planning, going. Saying no to things I should have said yes to, saying yes to things I should have said no to. I nearly needed two of me to keep up. It wasn’t until I went to a reader and she told me - your routine is too rigid, it’s like you’re on the treadmill. You’re having no fun. BAM she’d hit the nail on the head, she was bloody right. I wasn’t having fun and worse of all was deep down I knew it. I had sucked the life and fun out of my routine. Wake up call. So I stripped back and lighted up said yes to more fun things and it was great. I now had a new more flexible routine. Then, the corona virus hit and has turned everything on its head. This week reality has hit home. OMG this is my life for 3, to possibly 6 months. 🙈🙈🙈. So I created a new routine and of course I’ve crammed the mornings so packed I started to panic and stress about timings 🙄🙄. The good thing is this time I caught myself on sooner. Yesterday, I asked myself what does it matter? What does it actually matter if I’m slightly late at doing or finishing something. I concluded it doesn’t. Not one bit. 😂😂 It’s is important to recognise when things are getting stressful. To understand why and what needs to change. This time it was my attitude. If I hadn’t I would be setting the alarm for 5am to pack it all in. I’m bloody going nowhere lol. I just needed to lighten up. After waking up feeling proper fed up with how abnormal things are right now; missing the gym and all those little things we take for granted - I can honestly say I feel 100 times better after an amazing amount of exercise, an impromptu socially distant visit from my Mum, car singalongs, naughty desserts and plenty of fresh air.
