Sautéed chopped fire roasted sweet potatoes from @cascadianfarm in @goldnuggetghee (You can buy sweet potatoes and chop them but if you’re busy and exhausted, it’s one less step to deal with) Seasoned with just sea salt, pepper, garlic, and a little oregano. Before & after easy chia pudding recipe! 😋 . Need a quick, delicious and easy healthy breakfast idea? Then this chia seed pudding recipes is right you your alley! It’s the perfect no-cook, grab’n’go breakfast — This awesome recipe is by my fit foodie friend, @livevitae. More info below: — The night before takes 5 minutes to prepare. Add all ingredients (except berries and kiwis) into a jar, shake and mix well leave to set in the fridge. Prepare the seasonal fruit either in evening or morning and presto! — Serves 1 458 calories P 30 C 44 fibre 20 F 18 — Ingredients: • 4 tbsp chia seeds • 1.5 cups dairy free milk (I use canned full coconut milk diluted with water so much cheaper then diluted store bought alternatives with pathetic coconut %s and extra non essential ingredients) • 1/4 tsp salt • 1 scoop vanilla protein (I used a quality plant based pea protein) • a few drops of liquid stevia or 1 tsp raw honey • mix selection of berries • kiwi with skin on 😉 — Recipe: 1. In a glass jar with secure lid. Add all ingredients except fruit. 2. Mix well by shaking or with a fork. 3. Leave to set in a fridge for a few hours or overnight. 4. Remove to a bowl. Add the berries to the base then layer the chia seed pudding then add another layer of fruit then more chia seed pudding on top. — Optional to add coconut milk yogurt or nut butter or nuts or more seasonal fruit etc. There’s no rules. — This is one of my go to ways to prep breakfast. I love eggs 🍳 for the fact that they can be eaten at anytime of the day not only for breakfast. They can be eaten for lunch, dinner or even as a snack. . — . I will include veggies 🌶🥦 with every single meal I have. That is my main focus. Vegetables are so important as part of a healthy diet and provide a source of many nutrients, including potassium, fibre, folate (folic acid) and vitamins A, E and C. . — . Here is a simple breakfast that you can whip up in around 10 minutes. . — . What you will need: . ◆3 whisked eggs 🍳 ◆1 pepper I used ½ red and ½ green 🌶 ◆Sliced mushrooms around 1 cup 🍄 ◆1 spanish onion or red onion ◆½ Avocado sliced 🥑 ∙Salt and pepper to taste ∙Oil - I used olive oil spray as it helps me control how much oil I use. — Method: 1️⃣ Heat a skillet over medium heat and spray with oil. Add the onions and peppers and sauté for 4-5 mins until the veggies are soft and remove. 2️⃣ Add mushrooms and sauté for 2-3 mins and remove. 3️⃣ Spray some more oil wait for it to heat up and add the eggs. Let the eggs cook for about 1 minute until they begin to set. Push the eggs towards the centre of the pan and gently fold over tilt pan slightly to allow the the liquids to cook through. And one of the things I look forward to the most when I get home, is ALL the home cooked, simple, back to the basics food I get to make in my own kitchen. 😍 . . This is close to an OG @nomnompaleo recipe that I haven't read the actual recipe for in probably two years. Google 'nom nom paleo instant pot chicken and gravy.' One of my favorite hot sauces is Chili-Garlic Sauce that you find at most Asian restaurants! I recreated this classic condiment with only 5 ingredients (or 4 if you are doing #whole30)! For the recipe, search "chili garlic" on my blog!

The whole family loves zoodles. A few years ago I tried this combo: organic beet noodles and organic zoodles. It turned out super yummy. The beets add a slight sweetness to it. My daughter really liked it. I made these using a spiralizer. I sautéed them using @drbronner coconut oil until tender (about 15-20 minutes on medium low) and added previously cooked organic ground turkey 🦃 after about 10 minutes in and a generous amount of real sea salt. # Veggies are great noodle 🍜 replacements!!!! GOOD FATS VS. BAD FATS 🔥 — Nature doesn't make unhealthy fats, humans do. 👊🏼 — What makes a GOOD fat ➡️ Chemical stability, minimal processing, the presence of beneficial compounds other than fat. — ✅ Good fat examples: extra-virgin olive oil, avocado oil, avocados, the fat in fatty fish (wild salmon, sardines, mackerel), grass-fed beef, omega-3 or pasture raised eggs, coconut oil, MCT oil. — What makes a BAD fat ➡️ Chemical instability, trans fats, skewed omega-6 to omega-3 ratios, heat and chemical extraction, refining, bleaching, deodorization. — ❌ Bad fat examples: canola oil, grapeseed oil, corn oil, soy oil, "vegetable oil," sunflower oil, safflower oil, rapeseed oil, commercial salad dressings. — These fats are all highly processed and all contain significant levels of trans fats (up to 5%). The dose makes the poison. If you are consuming micro quantities, you are fine. BAD FATS 🔥 — Nature doesn't make unhealthy fats, humans do. 👊🏼 — What makes a GOOD fat ➡️ Chemical stability, minimal processing, the presence of beneficial compounds other than fat. — ✅ Good fat examples: extra-virgin olive oil, avocado oil, avocados, the fat in fatty fish (wild salmon, sardines, mackerel), grass-fed beef, omega-3 or pasture raised eggs, coconut oil, MCT oil. — What makes a BAD fat ➡️ Chemical instability, trans fats, skewed omega-6 to omega-3 ratios, heat and chemical extraction, refining, bleaching, deodorization. — ❌ Bad fat examples: canola oil, grapeseed oil, corn oil, soy oil, "vegetable oil," sunflower oil, safflower oil, rapeseed oil, commercial salad dressings. — These fats are all highly processed and all contain significant levels of trans fats (up to 5%). I discuss this in my book Genius Foods, but if you'd like a back-up reference, here's an article written by Harvard professor of nutrition, Dr. Guy Crosby: https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/2015/04/13/ask-the-expert-concerns-about-canola-oil/. In regards to canola oil, from the article, "canola oil does contain very low levels of trans-fat, as do all oils that have been deodorized. Deodorization is the final step in refining ALL vegetable oils." Trans fat consumption is linked to early death and worse memory function. — 👉🏼 There’s also the issue of dose. The dose makes the poison. If you are consuming micro quantities, you are fine. 先日行った横浪修さんの『PRIMAL』という写真展が、ものすごくよかった。 2〜3歳の男の子や女の子が フルーツを肩や首に受け入れるその表情が個々に違って、違いすぎて愛しくてニヤニヤしながら見ていたほど。 やんちゃな目、疑う目、肝の座った目、不安な目、柔軟な目、前を見つめる目、ちょける目、助けを求める目、攻撃的な目。 生まれてきてたった2〜3年。 でもそれぞれにこんなにも個性を持った立派な人間。 友人のこどもが見たこともない表情でこちらを見据えているのにすごくシビれた。 自分のこどものこと、 もっとたくさんみよう。 もっとたくさん写真に撮ろう。 3階で流れていた写真とメイキングで構成された動画も音楽と相まって素晴らしいので是非。 そして帰宅後に突然細菌性胃腸炎で高熱に襲われるとは思わなんだ。 BOOK AND [email protected]学芸大学 6/23(日)迄 12時-19時 ※水曜定休 #PRIMAL #横浪修 #BOOKANDSONS

Birthday dinner @scalesrestaurantportland was amazing! This is the summer steak entree (yes, it’s a seafood restaurant and yes I love seafood but I just haven’t perfected this level of sear on steak yet and it is so good) and it comes with grilled lettuce which was 💣. The lettuce was as good or better than the steak. Am I vegan now? Psssssssh, only kidding.

For some strange reason, I do my best running on rainy days. I had a PB today by finishing 5k in under 40 minutes. I always think the rain cools me off until I get home. It takes about 15 minutes to cool off and stop sweating like crazy. 🤷🏾‍♀️ I always drink 30 ounces of water mixed with Pink Himalayan salt & Nu Salt for potassium and magnesium.

With that, only in the last 15 months have I realized I have always been productively busy without any thought to what and how I ate. . Then I asked myself this question..."If I knew I was that big, why did it take me so long to change and transform my way of thinking and eating?" . QUITE FRANKLY! I WAS...ALWAYS WILL BE ...A CARB ADDICT!!! It was NEVER the amount of food that I ate, but WHAT I ate. . In the past fifteen months, I have learned and continue to learn that like any addict, I have to stay away from the very drug that made me sick. Besides, I have had to remind myself that I would never willingly take "harmful" drugs, so why would I want to consume one of the most lethal drugs known to humankind; carbohydrates!? . Then they take collagen and elastin supplements for their joints and bones and buy expensive skin care creams for their wrinkles. It is better to get your collagen, glycine, and elastin from whole foods. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We need to relearn how to appreciate the whole animal. I personally love eating the crispy silverskin with my ribs. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Many people find these connective tissues undesirable and therefore remove them before cooking. Then they take collagen and elastin supplements for their joints and bones and buy expensive skin care creams for their wrinkles. It is better to get your collagen, glycine, and elastin from whole foods. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We need to relearn how to appreciate the whole animal. If you butcher an animal down to only its muscle meat and discard the organs, skin, connective tissues, and bones, you are missing out on essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids.
