Dairy - a controversial food group. Ya either love it, hate it, hate to love it, get gassy from it, are “DF”, or don’t care. - In our journey figuring out our own health, we’ve spent periods of time using dairy for growth (good ol’ chocolate milk days), avoiding dairy, consuming low fat dairy… Never truly understanding the history or role of dairy, nor the different types. - Should we even be eating dairy? The main arguments against consuming dairy can be seen on the image. - 1. We didn’t evolve eating dairy 2. Milk should only be consumed by infants, to promote growth - RE: 2 —> Milk contains a sugar called lactose, which requires the enzyme lactase to break it down to galactose & glucose for absorption. Babies make lactase to digest the lactose in their mother’s milk. But after early childhood, humans (for most of our evolution) lost this ability to make lactase. And without lactase, we can’t properly digest lactose in milk. - So… again… should we consume dairy? Perhaps it’s not an easy ‘yes’ or ‘no’… *insert the dairy series* - Stay tuned for an abundance of posts, starting with the history of dairy, detailing all the different times, and concluding with our newfound opinions on the matter based on our research and experience.

Here is an article about an investigation looking into how researchers hid data of a clinical trial on stents vs. bypass surgery. The article focuses on how the researchers had ties to stent making companies and so in thier study they neglected to include the data that those patients in the trial who recieved a stent had 80% more heart attacks than those with open heart surgery. Aside from the corruption here, I also want to point out that this data suggests that going after the blockage with a stent is not the best approach because they do not drive heart attacks. The third picture is from a study by Baroldi showing that in only 15% of the autopsied heart attack victims were they able to find a blockage. A more likely cause of many heart attacks is described in my blog post called, "It's Not Blockages, So What Really Causes Heart Attacks".

We must be smart consumers of media! This first picture is the headline for an article that summarizes a recently published research article. The second picture is the actual research article. The study is epidemiology, so it suffers from all the usual epidemiology pitfalls like relying on people to accurately recall information, association not causation, and healthy user bias. But also in the article they use the word assume (or derivatives of it) 14 times and they use the word estimate (or derivatives of it) 19 times. This is how much data they have to assume or estimate to come to the conclusions they do in this paper. In no way should any recommendations be made based on these types of studies, but unfortuantely that happens all the time. Also, they looked at "non-HDL cholesterol" which includes triglycerides, a marker of carbohydrate consumption, and Lp(a), a marker of inflammation. Lumping those in with LDL is not really fair to LDL.

Firstly lamb fat is amazing soft Secondly finally back! Got done with finals been focusing on what I need to to get back on track it's been awesome the past few days have been OMAD and really trying to focus on high quality foods. So only grass fed from here on out it is a bit restrictive but learning more and more I just dont see why not. Grain fed used to not exist up until the 1950s after world war II and with that everything pretty much went to sh*t. Meal today is Raw lamb fat (did not eat whole container lol) Sirloin roast with butter, raw cheese and 3 egg yolks my stomach doesnt feel too good with egg white as I've noticed. Making some bone broth tonight as well! Day 183🥩 Smallish late dinner for my disturbed stomach. Not complaining anymore... feels a lot better than it was but still growling and "fermenting"🙄...Scrambled yolks with shredded brisket and 2 slices of cold beef liver...not sure why it looks greenish in the pic🤣My guy ate the other 3 chicken thighs I've boiled in the soup (surprisingly they were really good) and I had the soup instead of water to hydrate a bit .... Unfortunately I still run to the 🚽 too often 🤫. It’s cold and flu season so I’m all about using immune boosting and vitamin rich spices as preventive medicine in my food. I wasn’t sure how this was gonna come out but combining #ginger #garlic #freshtumeric #onions with my African spice blend in my #collardgreens and simmered in #bonebroth and #ghee.
