STAYING ON TRACK DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON -Jacob Nowak- This time of year is full of family, good times, and loads of food. With all the parties, food, drinks, and time obligations for family events, it can be really difficult to stay on track with training and dieting during the holiday season. In this video, I’ll be going over three simple tips to help you to not totally derail from your plan, while still being able to enjoy everything that the holidays have to offer. 1) INCREASE YOUR WORKOUT INTENSITY/CONDITIONING WORK: This is probably the easiest of the three tips to do. The way that I would suggest to increase your workout intensity is to start supersetting three of your lifts together with about 60s of rest between sets instead of doing each exercise separately. This will keep you breathing heavily and your heart rate up. It also has the bonus effect of getting you in and out of the gym much faster, something that will be important for you to spend more time with loved ones. As for adding in more conditioning, add in some (8-10) bike, sled, or rower sprints to the start of your workout as a bit of your warm up. This shouldn’t take up too much time and will definitely get your blood pumping for the rest of your training. 2) DON’T STARVE YOURSELF FOR A BIG MEAL: We’ve all done this. We think that by not eating until the big meal ahead, we have allowed ourselves to gorge ourselves guilt free because we have a day's worth of calories to eat. This often backfires and we eat way more than we should and feel like total crap afterward. Instead try to have a couple of smaller meals during the day before your big meal. This way you won’t be as likely to binge hard later and over do yourself. (Continued in comments)...

If that’s doesn’t convince you to try it maybe these benefits will: ✅helps with weight loss - body learns to burn brown fat = increase calorie burn ✅helps regulate blood sugar ✅helps improve sleep quality ✅builds immunity ✅enhances detox pathways ✅reduces pain ✅improves bone health related to loss of brown fat as we age ✅improves your will power (not scientifically supported *yet) but reported by many people who have taken cold showers before bed or when they wake up. So, if you’re not interested in walking barefoot in the snow maybe a cold shower will do. Seriously, though I found this easier than taking cold showers 🚿
