Some actually have twice the glycemic index than sugar does! —swipe for all sugar alcohols and the glycemic index to them— Now if you see the second picture you can see the glycemic index of sugar is 60, right? Okay now look at the GI for maltitol, it’s just over 30 right? So what does that mean exactly? It means that not all the “sugar alcohols” can be fully deducted from the carbs. Only half can be! I tried sautéed apples with cinnamon and cottage cheese and then instead of salsa I tried thyme and rosemary for an Italian touch on my eggs. Both were good! How do you eat cottage cheese or eggs? Ummm, to everyone who lives in cold climates, hats off to you. It is a very wet 27° in Houston and I have turned into a burrito. I have on my thickest pants, a long sleeve shirt, short sleeve shirt, sweat shirt and am wrapped in a blanket with the heating pad on my feet. I have always wanted to live in a place which has sustained cold weather, this doesn't change that it just helps me understand that if I did live somewhere cold I would have a very different wardrobe. I can't even convince myself to get something out of my garage, much less go to the gym. On Tuesdays we transform! Happy #transformationtuesday everyone! Some days show me just how much I don't know about my body and how it processes. Yesterday I stepped on the scale and was up 3 lbs. I told myself that I would do really good food-wise. I was doing okay till my training hit a lull and the candy on the table started taunting me. I caved :( and then it snowballed into what felt like an all out chocolatefest!!! When I stepped on the scale this morning I was fully expecting another jump in the numbers and they did back down to 212. I am starting my reset today and the goal is to stay with it till Saturday and then to reintoduce soft foods back. I want to have a light at the end of the tunnel or a reward for completing my reset but I am out of ideas. So on the left is from a few months ago when I was an 18 but able to fit into a strangely large 14W at Macy's. The right is today in a designer(small) 14, it is tight like super tight but I got it on and zipped. My goal is to have a 14 look good on me by April 21st when one of my best friends @k_mae_pan is getting married. I wish I could do it by the next wedding I am going to which is my other favorite person I met in Houston @debbijr but February 10 is just too close. I have always told myself that if I could just be a 14 I would be satisfied. Like I have said before I passed most of the teens in clothes as I grew larger. I skipped right to 20. I have struggled since the holidays to get back on track with everything,food,exercise and mindset. So I have decided to reset my small stomach by doing just liquids for 4 days. Wish me luck. My prime example is IHOP omelettes! They actually fluff them with the buttermilk pancake batter! Ask for a cracked egg omelette! Always always always ask questions and for the nutritional menu as well! A couple others to be careful of McDonald’s, Taco Bell, Starbucks, and Dunkin’ Donuts! (There will be a separate post for Starbucks) 😉 the best thing I can tell you for an actual restaurant is ask for the nutritional menu! OMG, this was definitely THE BEST healthy (read: low-carb) burger alternative ever!!!! It's a burger wrap: The wrap itself consists of low-fat quark (unfortunately, a dairy product virtually unknown in the US), low-fat grated cheese and eggs. For the filling, I used ground beef, pickles, cherry tomatoes, diced onions and a sauce made of low-fat greek yoghurt, mustard, tomato paste and some lemon juice. It's AMAZING, seriously!!! #ketotipsandtricks Day11! Meal planning Vs meal prepping. Do I have to? Will I fail if I don’t? So I know this has been a touchy subject here on Instagram lately. So if you do something different and it works, that’s all that matters. I personally do a bit of mental meal planning so that I know I can get my protein in and so that I know what to thaw out for dinner! Lol. However when I first started out I was meal prepping 3 days out. The only problem I had with my meal prep was, sometimes when it came to the 3rd day I had no appetite for what I had prepped and would have to scramble to find something. So meal prepping just doesn’t work for me! Now if you can wing it on the spot, kudus! You WILL NOT FAIL if you don’t meal prep or even plan. So dinner tonight was a chicken quesadilla on a low carb tortilla with chicken leg meat from meal prep and pepper jack cheese. Dunked it in organic salsa from #TraderJoes . this was exactly the meal I needed tonight. I didn't have ANY carbs all day so I felt like I needed some. I do try and stay low carb but I feel like NO carb is just so unattainable and not healthy. Went to see the greatest showman again with one of my good friends. I have an unhealthy love of musicals and this one has been on repeat on Spotify for about two weeks. This is not to offend anyone, or say you’re doing it wrong, these tips are mainly to help out newbies and if you learn something along the way, then even better* Tortillas, low carb tortillas...99% of them have grains. Even though they’re only 6g net carbs, grains can and will through you out of ketosis. There are a couple out there that are made with keto friendly ingredients(haven’t tried them personally but I’ve seen them around). Stay away as much as possible. And if you’re prone to binge eating (like myself) they are even more of a no! Ummm, so in the spirit of full disclosure I am pretty peeved this morning. I am 2 lbs up on the scale today and am not sure why. Happy 10 month surgiversary!!!! This last month has been a struggle with almost no scale movement because I wasn't doing what I was supposed to foodwise. Hit my first goal of 2018 though 1 week with no added sugar. And it has been a struggle at times but I just have told myself no or had apple and peanut butter instead. Trying to get back in the workout game too, fell behind during our super cold Christmas. Hoping to hit that 200 goal in the next month or so. Another goal is to be a 14 in pants by April when I am heading to San Diego for a wedding.Haven't taken measurements in a while so I might do that this week.
