~LEG DAY 2MROW~ As I continue to make goals for this week I look back and compare to where I was at a month ago around this time. I haven’t made huge jumps in weight or increased in size dramatically BUT I feel stronger and just different. It’s amazing that you can feel and see just a little bit of difference and it motivate you to push that much harder. What's important when you're tired and broken down is to dig deep within yourself and find the strength. That had to be done tonight. Still toasted from deadlifts I had 365 lbs for 5 sets of 2. This was my max not even a year ago. As I moved through my sets I could feel myself fading but I knew it had to be done. This is my last set and definitely one of the hardest of the night. Weight is moving just keeping my eyes forward and putting the work in getting better every single day! #bealegend at PEAK Performance Fitness

Happy Hump Day! 🐪🐪🐪. . . Everyone knows you’ve got to train legs on Wednesday! These accessory leg exercises not only have great carryover to benefit your squat and deadlift performance, but they are also great for overall leg muscle strengthening. 🍑🍑🍑. . . 1️⃣ Banded Hip Trusts. Did @Bretcontreras1 hip thrust pyramid with two bands on each side of the barbell (15x235 lbs, 10x285 lbs, 5x305 lbs, and 20x195lbs). (Thank you @bretcontreras1! 😅😅😅). Depicted here is me absolutely grinding through the top set of 5. Begin this plan by choosing a weight that would allow you to do the desired number of reps, and attempt this hip trust set once a week and try to increase the total number of reps each time. 🐫🐫🐫. . 2️⃣ Hamstring Curl Negatives. (4x10). The negative part means you should decrease your speed as you elongate your leg to increase the time your hammies are spending under tension. 🐷🐷🐷. . 3️⃣ Goblet Squats. (5x6). Holding the kettlebell in front of your neck with your elbows out or the sides tests your core integrity and helps force you to keep your chest up and your core braces throughout the movement. Pausing at the bottom or slowing down your descent will augment this effect and further challenge your core integrity. 💪💪💪. . 4️⃣ Leg Press. (2x25). Thanks to @j_rock_86 I know how to use leg press to correct my squat form. To start, place your feet on the leg press machine in squat position. By keeping your knees stacked over your ankles at all times, you will avoid unwanted knee pain. Strengthening the quads reduces tension on the patellar tendon, which helps keep your knees stable and strong during a squat. 🏋️‍♀️🏋️‍♀️🏋️‍♀️. . . “What’s the best rep range to build muscle?” . Man do I get asked that question almost on a daily basis. . Well the truth is, there is no ‘best’ rep range to build muscle. The key is phasing your workouts properly where you lift in all different rep ranges at certain parts of your program. Because all rep ranges have the potential to build muscle, not just 8-12 reps. . We have to understand that our bodies ADAPT very quickly. If you’re always in that 8-12 rep range, your body will adapt and get used to that. . If you’ve been training in that 8-12 rep range for weeks, months or maybe years on end, there’s a really good chance that your body has adapted. . Start experimenting in the lower rep ranges. 1-3 reps or 3-5 reps. Focus on execution and getting stronger. Take long rest periods. Today was overall just a really bad day.. didn’t have the best day at work, Im having some issues with my health, I feel like a sack of mashed potatoes, and then, the gym was so packed I had to wait damn near 40 minutes just for a squat rack where my lifts were weak at best. 🤦🏽‍♀️ but it’s okay. 205lb x 4.75 reps 😫➡️195lb x 6 reps ➡️ low bar squats x 3... . . . . Wow today was brutal. Did 4 sets of 6 at 185lbs for sumos before attempting those higher numbers, then was too exhausted for my squats.
