It’s Friday, and I’m ready for the weekend. At least I think it’s Friday. Don’t the days just run together? 🍸 I love to sit by the water and enjoy a frozen margarita on the weekend. I recently finished the last one from my freezer. Yes, I like to make a batch and then freeze for any occasion. 🍸 Sometimes, though, you want to avoid the alcohol because it stops you from burning fat. Are you struggling with getting rid of that #quarantine15? . This is a picture from last May. I pulled out a pair of shorts from a few years earlier. They fit when I bought them. They were too tight a year later. I kept them thinking I'd lose weight, and I'd wear them again. Who doesn't have a closet of clothes you think you'll fit into later? . As you can see they still don't fit. In a good way! . Two summers ago I took a chance on a program called the FASTer Way to Fat Loss. I’d read good things about it, only I wasn’t so sure it was going to work for me. I started second-guessing whether I should do it or not. I finally decided to stop my self-sabotage. I took the plunge and signed up. What did I have to lose - the fat or the money? This was one of the best decision I’ve made. I’m so glad I did! As you can see I did lose weight and I lost inches and several sizes. . For me the non-scale victories were even bigger. . I no longer have joint pain and don’t need ibuprofen to get through my day. I have more energy. I increased my confidence up a notch. I have lean muscle. I feel stronger, and I am stronger. It was those victories that were significant to me. . And, it wasn’t a diet. I know people say that about lots of so-called lifestyle/diets. I didn’t restrict what I was eating. I enjoy all types of food - carbs, fats, proteins. In fact, I now eat at least 500-700 more calories a day than I did before I started the program. And it is doable long-term. I've been doing this nearly two years. . How did you break your fast today? I had a turkey wrap on a new to me wrap. BFree Quinoa and Chia Seed Wraps. What I order at the grocery wasn’t available and my Instacart shopper suggested these. Decided today is a cooking day. I have fallen into the habit of making two meats , in this case a full chicken and 3lbs of pork chops, up and then using them for meals throughout the next week. Seems foolish to heat up the oven every day and just make a meals worth. So the pork chops have been breaded (heavy on the rosemary and minced onion) and a tray of sweet potatoes, zucchini and a vidalia onion have been chopped, oiled and spiced and are in the oven also. The chicken is prepped and will follow. And several yellow potatoes are boiling for making homemade hashbrowns for a week of breakfasts. Once the potatoes cool I will slice them. Add a diced purple onion, sliced peppers and chopped up breakfast sausage for my hash browns. Look at me. Dinner tonight is one of my go-to quick and easy comfort food. Chicken sautéd with s&p, garlic and basil in olive oil, toss in a large container of small tomatoes1/2 to 1 cup of chicken stock, cover and simmer till tomatoes pop. Cook pasta about half cooking time because you want to finish in pan with chicken and tomatoes, add pasta water if you need more liquid. Enjoy #quilterswhocook

It was Feast Day in the FASTer Way today. This month we are switching up our carb cycling. . Feast day means eating 25% more. I love food and am a big eater, and this is actually difficult. . Today I broke my fast with a huge stack of pancakes topped with raspberries and maple syrup. I added some chicken breakfast sausage. . Lots of good carbs in that meal. Are you a carb fan?
