Because life is all about learning how to love, God wants us to value relationships and make the effort to maintain them instead of discarding them whenever there is a rift, a hurt, or a conflict. 7 Biblical steps to Restoring Fellowship: 1) Talk to God before Talking to the Person: Discuss the problem with God. Pray about the conflict first instead of gossiping to a friend, you will discover that either God changes your heart or he changes the other person without your help. 2) Always take the Initiative: It doesn't matter whether you are the offender or the offended, God expects you to make the first move. Don't wait for the other party, go to them first. 3) Sympathize with their feelings: Use your ears more than your mouth. Before attempting to solve any disagreement you must first listen to people's feelings. 4) Confess Your Part of the Conflict: If you are serious about restoring a relationship, you should begin with admitting your own mistakes or sin. 5) Attack the Problem, Not the Person: You cannot fix the problem if you're consumed with fixing the blame. You must choose between the two. In resolving conflict, HOW YOU say it is as important as WHAT YOU say. 6) Cooperate as Much as Possible: For the sake of fellowship, do your best to compromise, adjust to others, and show preference to what they need. 7) Emphasize Reconciliation, not Resolution: It is unrealistic to expect everyone to agree about everything. Reconciliation focuses on the relationship, while resolution focuses on the problem-@pastorrickwarren DAY 20: THINKING ABOUT MY PURPOSE Point to Ponder: Relationships are always worth restoring. #Repost @readershome (@get_repost) ・・・ EXPERIENCING LIFE TOGETHER Life is meant to be shared. God intends for us to experience life together. The Bible calls this shared experience fellowship. True fellowship is so much more than just showing up at church services and more than the beautiful faces we put up. It's in unselfish loving, honest sharing, practical serving, sacrificial giving, sympathetic comforting, and all the other "one another" commands found in the New Testament. We need to understand that we all have different functions and we need to discover our purpose. What we're meant to do has been known before we were born, we just need to discover it. In our bodies we have different parts with different functions. It's sweet to know that the most important portions are the ones embedded in our bodies. Some parts are seen and some are hidden. The most important thing is that you understand your role. IN REAL FELLOWSHIP PEOPLE EXPERIENCE AUTHENTICITY: Authentic fellowship is not superficial, surface-level chit-chat. It is genuine, heart-to-heart, sometimes gut-level, sharing. It happens when people get honest about who they are and what is happening in their lives. IN REAL FELLOWSHIP PEOPLE EXPERIENCE MUTUALITY: Mutuality is the art of giving and receiving, It's depending on each other. We are more consistent in our faith when others walk with us and encourage us. IN REAL FELLOWSHIP PEOPLE EXPERIENCE SYMPATHY: Sympathy is not giving advice or offering quick, cosmetic help; sympathy is entering in and sharing the pain of others. IN REAL FELLOWSHIP PEOPLE EXPERIENCE MERCY. Every time you understand and affirm someone's feelings, you build fellowship- @pastorrickwarren DAY 18: THINKING ABOUT MY PURPOSE Point to Ponder: I need others in my life. Verse to Remember: "Share each other's troubles and problems, and in this way obey the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2(NLT) Question to Consider: What one step can I take today to connect with another believer at a more genuine, heart-to-heart level? #follow us for #more #lifequotes #life #purpose #40dayschallenge #day18 #readershome #bookclub #rickwarren #thepurposedrivenlife #readingchallenge #proudlynigeria

#Repost @readershome (@get_repost) ・・・ WHAT MATTERS MOST Life is all about love. God is love, therefore the most important lesson to learn on earth is how to love. Learning to love unselfishly is not an easy task. It runs counter to our self-centered nature. That why God us the lifetime to learn it, God wants us to love everyone he is concerned about our love for other believers. Because God wants his family to be known for it's love more than anything. THE BEST USE OF LIFE IS LOVE: Love should be your top priority, primary objective, and greatest ambition. Love is not a good part of your life; it's the most important part. LIFE WITHOUT LOVE IS REALLY WORTHLESS: Often we act as if relationships are something to be squeezed into our schedule. We struggle to make out time for our children or people in our lives. But God says relationships are what life is all about, all the Ten commandments talks about relationships. LOVE WILL LAST FOREVER: Second reason God tells us to make love our top priority is that it is eternal. WE WILL BE EVALUATED ON OUR LOVE: Third reason to make learning to love the goal of your life is, we will be evaluated by it in eternity. One of the ways God measures spiritual maturity is by the quality of your relationships. It is not enough just to say relationships are important; we must prove it by investing time in them. Words alone are worthless- @pastorrickwarren DAY 16: THINKING ABOUT MY PURPOSE Point to Ponder: Life is all about love Verse to Remember: "The entire law is summed up in a single command: Love Your Neighbor as yourself." #Repost @readershome (@get_repost) ・・・ FORMED FOR GOD'S FAMILY You were formed for God's family. God wants a family, and he created you to be a part of it. This is God's second purpose for your life, which he planned before you were born. Every human being was created by God, but not everyone is a child of God. The only way to get into God's family is by being born again into it. The invitation to be part of God's family is universal, but there is one condition: Faith in Jesus. Your spiritual family is even more important than your physical family because it will last forever. BENEFITS OF BEING IN GOD'S FAMILY: The moment you were spiritually born into God's family, you were given some astounding gifts and inheritances. Our inheritance includes- 1) we will get to be with God forever. 2) we will be completely changed to be like Christ. 3) we will be freed from all pain, death, and suffering. 4) we will be rewarded and reassigned positions of service. 5) we will get to share in Christ's glory. BAPTISM: IDENTIFYING WITH GOD'S FAMILY: Baptism is not an optional ritual, to be delayed or postponed. It signifies your inclusion in God's family. It publicly announces to the world, "I am not ashamed to be a part of God's family." Why is baptism so important? Because it symbolizes God's second purpose for your life: participating in the fellowship of God's eternal family. Baptism doesn't make you a member of God's family; only Faith in Christ does that. LIFE'S GREATEST PRIVILEGE: Being included in God's family is the highest honor and the greatest privilege you will ever receive- @pastorrickwarren DAY 15: THINKING ABOUT MY PURPOSE Point to Ponder: I was formed for God's family. Do you wish you read more books? This year I became so frustrated with the stack of unfinished books beside my bed I decided to try an experiment: take the same approach to reading that I take to the other challenges of being a working parent i.e. - set a lofty goal - make a commitment - hold myself accountable So at the start of July I set myself a target of reading one book a week until the end of the year. I'm so excited by the results so far I just had to share them with you. 18 books in just over 3 months - that's more than double the number of books I read last year! This isn't just about reading more books (although that on its own is awesome enough!). It's about taking something you think is impossible (like... I don't know, having it all, for example) and proving to yourself that, with the right strategy, commitment and approach, you can do it. So if you love to read and you're up for a challenge, join me in the Babyproof Book Challenge - a book a week until the end of the year. The busier you are, the more I challenge you. Crazy? Impossible? Click the link in the bio and I'll show you how. #babyproofbookchallenge #bookchallenge #booklover #readingchallenge #haveitall #babyproof #babyproofblog #worklifebalance

#Repost @readershome (@get_repost) ・・・ WORSHIP THAT PLEASES GOD God wants all of you, he doesn't want a part of your life. He asks ALL your heart, ALL your soul, ALL your mind and ALL your strength. He desires your full devotion, not little bits of your life. The kind of worship pleases God has four characteristics: 1) When our worship is Accurate: We cannot create our own comfortable or politically correct image of God and worship it. That is idolatry. Worship must be based on the truth of the scripture, not our opinions about God. To "worship in truth" means means to worship God as he is truly revealed in the Bible. 2) When our worship is Authentic: When Jesus said you must "worship in spirit," he wasn't referring to the Holy Spirit, but to your spirit. Worship is your spirit responding to God's Spirit. He doesn't want showmanship or pretense or phoniness in worship. He wants your honest, real love. We can worship God imperfectly, but we cannot worship him insincerely. God pleasing worship is deeply emotional and deeply doctrinal. We use both our hearts and our heads. 3) When our worship is Thoughtful: If worship is mindless, it is meaningless. You must engage your mind. The best style of worship is the one that most authentically represents your love for God. 4) When our Worship is Practical: Real worship is rooted in the word, In worship we are to "offer our bodies as living sacrifices." One thing worship costs us is our self-centeredness. You cannot exalt God and yourself at the same time. -@pastorrickwarren DAY 13: THINKING ABOUT MY PURPOSE Point To Ponder: God wants all of me Verse to Remember: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." Finished my first -and probably last- James Patterson novel a few days ago! I’ve always known his name and the fact that he’s super famous and has lots of published books but I was never really attracted to them? For some reason he just didn’t seem to be /my/ style. I found a copy of 1st to die at my local book exchange place and decided to give it a try just to cross him of my list, and it wasn’t BAD but i think I was right and he just isn’t my style haha. I don’t know if maybe this book was particularly dated, but gosh his female characters are so incredibly hollow and even though the main 4-5 characters are female it just reads like a book written by a man 🙄🤷🏻‍♀️ The plot ~twist was predictable and although he did maintain a bit of suspense for a while, it just got old and tiring, and the romance was just not something I cared for on a murder mystery novel. And there’s ANOTHER plot twist right at the end (I hated it!) but I was checked out by then so, whatever I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️

77. Fer-de-Lance by Rex Stout. One of my November crime novels, and high up on my favourites so far. Nero Wolfe is a kind of American 1930s Sherlock Holmes, if Sherlock was rather corpulent and didn’t leave the house. 76. Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. While I enjoyed the writing, the characters are the most insufferable I have struggled through. Cathy is an entitled princess and Heathcliff is abusive. Now that I have half my Christmas shopping done I’m treating myself to some macarons and spending some time with November’s #classicsbuddyread . Work changes + childcare changes have been challenging, and of course coincided with the entire family being sick, including me, and not being able to stay home to rest 🤒 I’ve been too busy or too tired to read much this month, and I’ve never read Little Women, but I’m familiar with the story, which makes me less likely to pick it up when I’m tired. I do like the structure, where each chapter is kind of it’s own anecdote - it’s much easier to read just a chapter or two and not lose the story. . Anyway, the Little is going through a phase where she comes into our room what feels like every hour all night long and I’m exhausted and just rambling at this point 😂😂😂 . I’m curious what other people’s thoughts are on Little Women, it seem like a beloved classic, but I wonder how much of that is from growing up with the March sisters. . . . #currentlyreading #bibliophile #booklover #bookworm #widn #readingchallenge #readinglist #tbr #readwhatyouown #momlife at Washington, District of Columbia

This book counts for Ireland 🇮🇪 in my Ancestry DNA reading challenge. My dna results show that I’m 32% Irish. I get the Irish from my Mom and unfortunately I associate it with less-than-pleasant things like impatience, short tempers, alcoholism and the Catholic Church. I don’t personally identify closely with my Irish side, definitely not the way many other Americans of Irish descent do. I didn’t even really feel it when I visited Ireland briefly in 2016. I do drink tea and eat oatmeal though. I hope my Mom will not haunt me for writing this (crossing myself for good measure). This book was sad, heartening, funny and very creepy and unsettling all at the same time. I loved it. The main character sees saints like the way others see ghosts (at least in books). There were a few too many spiders for my liking. #ancestrydna #ancestrydnareadingchallenge #bookstagram #readersofinstagram #bibliophile #bookworm #irishamerican #irishwriters #bookshelf #irishbooks #readingchallenge

The Uncommon Reader Hi everybody, The #borrowathon has ended and this is one of books I read for that readathon. I love The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett. This one counts for the challenge: read a book about libraries. This short read is filled with the love for reading. It has so many great quotes. I love the atmosphere of the story and it made me laugh quite a bit. QOTD: what book about reading or books can you recommend me? . . Book 134/150 for 2018 Unhinged: Blood Bond Saga Part 4 @authorhelenhardt 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Part 4 of the Blood Bond Saga gives you more details about what could be going on with Dante and Erin. Dante finally fed on Erin. She wasn't sure what was happening and when it finally clicked, she wasn't sure how she felt about her boyfriend being a vampire or if she could even accept it at all. But their connection is so strong and she knows she can't fight it. “A blood bond. Now more than ever, Erin Hamilton was mine. Mine to love. Mine to protect. Mine to take nourishment from. Mine to give back to. And I would give Erin everything, everything within my power." The more Dante thinks about his past, the more he think he was let go on purpose but he has not idea what that purpose is. Once Bonded, Never Broken. You will understand this quote as you read the story. Then you have drama with Erin and her baby and when she is going to tell the baby's dad. Why does Jay have bite marks on his neck? What is going on with Dr. Bonneville? Why are people with B positive blood going missing? Very sexy scenes. Helen knows how to write a sexy scene like no one else does. I’m visiting New Zealand for a couple of weeks, so couldn’t not pop into my old kindergarten to read them a couple of stories! So fun, and so nice to be back there! ° ° ° ° ° #readbook #childrensliterature #booksforkids #readingnook #kidstime #loveread #homelibrary #storytellingphotography #bookweek #childrensparty #literaturelover #childrensliterature #teachersofinsta #readingchallenge #booksforever #bookcollector #earlyliteracy #kindergartenteachers at Ngaio, New Zealand

Ok, I had to do it this month. A #readalong with @fiercereads. I liked this book, just as much as I liked the other book by @lbardugo The Six of Crows. I'll have to follow this readalong for the next couple of months to finish the trilogy, and get ready for a new read by the author that comes out in 2019. I know!!! 2019 is soo close now, it's scary. 7 weeks if I'm not mistaken. Anyways, this was my book 51 for the year. Not part of my reading challenge, but I'm glad I jumped on this one. Fantasy reads sometimes clear your pallets for what's next. And next I have a very serious read on cancer 😓 #goodreads #popsugarreadingchallenge2018 #readingchallenge #reader #read #readalot #readallthebooks #book #books #booksofinstagram #booksofig #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookish #booklove #booklover #bookworm #bookaddict #booknerd #givemeallthebooks #neverendingreadinglist #bibliophile #instareads #shadowandbone #shadowandbonetrilogy #shadowandbonetrilogyreadalong #grishaverse #leighbardugo #fiercereads

This book is SO intriguing! It is written out as if you are reading a podcast script which is so unique and reminds me of Serial podcast. If you use your imagination, you could almost hear a podcast in your mind while you read the words. Absolutely fascinating. I just started this book for my #thenerdynest #bookclub so feel free to hop into it with me! This is the #november book and I thought a quick, enticing read would be best for this busy pre-holiday month. #sadie #courtneysummers #podcast #booktoread #readingchallenge #challenge2018 #bookrecommendations #bookreview #currentlyreading

. . . 📖 #bookishfeatures #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #goodreads #readingchallenge #booksofinstagram  #bookporn #glasses #read #booknerd #bookworm #reading #november

Nerd Alert! 🤓 I did it! I have read at least a book a month this year! 12 down and still 2 months to go! I have previously said how i usually don't even read one book a year so this has been a massive change for me but it has been SO rewarding! I have found a love of reading again and spent less time pointlessly scrolling and giving myself a headache from looking at screens all evening! I highly recommend everyone to read at least once a week (you'll do it more when u find a book you enjoy anyway!) Nothing beats the feeling of getting lost in a great story or even learning something new with some non-fiction! 📚 . . . . . . . . . . . #nerd #bookworm #nerdalert #booklover #readingchallenge #bookamonth #proud

I have been thinking about my reading plan for 2019. This year has been my best and most exciting book year. Although my original idea for 2018 was to catch up on some big Western classics, I got derailed and I ended up reading books I would have not picked up differently. I have also read more non-fiction (for fun) than ever before, what was a surprise even for me. 😃 But besides continuing with non- fiction books and diverse classics, I am planning to re-read some of my all-timr favorite books. It might sound very unambitious but you need to know that I almost never re-read anything. I used to read the same books over and over again back in my teens, but then life happened. Now, I feel slightly guilty to spend time on a book which I have read already, so I think my only re-read in the last four years was the Less Than Zero last year. However, I feel it is time to revisit some old friends and see if I still feel the same way or experience them differently after all this time. So some of the books I am adding to the list (not definite yet): . 📗Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell . 📘American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis . 📙Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson . 📗Paradise Lost by John Milton . 📘The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway . 📙Lord of the Flies by William Golding . Q: Have you read any if them? Do you tend to read the same book multiple times? (Harry Potter doesn't count, you Potterheads out there! 😜) . . . #bookishmonday #reading_time #readingplan #booklover #bibliophile #huntersthompson #igreads #readersofig #bookwormproblems #diverseclassics #readeveryday #readeverything #booksandcoffee #coffeeandbooks #goodreadschallenge #bookishfeature #gonzo #bookstagrammer #readingchallenge #womenwhoread #toreadlist #tbr #novemberreads #booksanddrinks #booksarelife #bookcover #bookrecommendation #diversifybookstagram #readersgonnaread

Okay, while I do feel like a cheated a bit by reading an incredibly simple children’s book for this category, in my defense, this category was crazy hard to fill. And this book is adorable. My kids love this series and I enjoy reading it to them. Monday seems a good day to explore a few of the challenging reads on my TBR. I have real feelings on the subject of hard books. They’re like staring up at the stars and confronting my insignificance. When I see the dense sentences with hundreds of years’ allusions interwoven, I feel like I, not the novel, am the invented one, living on fresh pages without historical context. I’ll have some thoughts on reading approach and goals down the line. For now? Awe is enough—and tea. Lots of it. What are your favorite difficult books? Why? #bookstagram #igbooks #books #amreading #readingchallenge #challengingbooks #classicbooks #intimidatingbooks at Oceanside, California

My father’s family came over to the US from Lucca, Italy in the early part of last century. I’ve never been there but have always wanted to visit (and probably will when my kids are a little bigger). So I was pretty excited to read this book, being that a) my family is from the area and b) they made a movie out of this book, so it was probably good, right? Maybe it’s just me but I found it so incredibly boring that I actually cheered when I was finished. I know it was a memoir but my god, there was no plot whatsoever. It was just an incredibly privileged woman walking around town, fixing up her (second) home (in freaking Italy) and eating. Exciting stuff guys. #readingchallenge #readersofinstagram #popsugarreadingchallenge2018 #bookclub #bookstagram #booksofinsta #bookinspired #ilovereading #popsugarreadingchallenge #bookworm #bibliofile #instareads #booktiedtoyourancestry #UndertheTuscanSun

The prompt for today’s Thankful for Books reading challenge is Non-Fiction. Do you have a favorite non-fiction book? One that I really like and have read multiple times is Tuesdays with Morrie by @mitchalbom. I love how it is written-so engaging and such a tender story. #readingchallenge #TFBRC #nonfiction #books #reading

Hi guys! I read Letters to the lost few months ago and it was so amazing. I can't wait to know what happened in Rev life and why he acted the way he did. Finally I found the sequel and I feel so freaking happy!!! . "A test implies that you alone are being challenged. But that's impossible when you're surrounded by others whose actions affect your decision. If there's any test here, it's one you've created for yourself" . Rev life was really heart breaking before he got adopted to a nice couple. His father tortured him physically and mentally at young age. It's been few years but he still can't forget what his father did. It got worst when he got a letter from his father. . Emma. I don't like Emma that much coz she is so bitter and rude towards her best friend. But I think I understand her coz she struggled with her mom who never supported her and dad who always busy with his work. . Matthew! I want to know what happen to him too! I hope there is a book bout him soon! Please include Rev too 😁 I can't get enough of him hehehe . 🌟🌟🌟🌟.8 . #bookchallenge #readingchallenge #girlwholovestoread #englishnovel #bibliophile #bibliophilemy #booknerd #ebook #bookreview #bookcommunity #bookworm #booklovers #bookloversmy #bookaddict #bookaholic #booknerd #igreads #booksuggestions #ya #youngadult #fiction #bookstagram #readingchallenge #ixxreadinglist #morethanwecantell #brigidkemmerer

You guys should read this book!! . Juliet and Declan start writing anonymous letters and they understand each other grief. Everyone judging Declan for what he did but they never care why he did that. I feel sad for him phewww . Btw I like the friendship between Declan and Rev. . I found out there is a sequel and I can't wait to read it omg!! From what I read people said the sequel is about Rev's life. I wanted to know more bout him coz Declan did mention something bad happened to him. . 🌟🌟🌟🌟.8 . #bookchallenge #readingchallenge #girlwholovestoread #englishnovel #bibliophile #bibliophilemy #booknerd #ebook #bookreview #bookcommunity #bookworm #booklovers #bookloversmy #bookaddict #bookaholic #booknerd #igreads #booksuggestions #ya #youngadult #fiction #bookstagram #readingchallenge #ixxreadinglist #letterstothelost #brigidkemmerer

Hello everyone! Have you read this book? Yes? No? I wanted to talk bout The way you make me feel by Maurene Goo! Omg I feel sooooo excited 😁 . Clara live with her dad since her mom left them to live her dream life. I like their daughter-dad relationship. They are super cool and cute lol . Clara is a prankster but one day her prank went too far so she got sentenced to work on her dad's food truck. That wasn't one of her summer plans. Working with her nemesis, Rose is the worst nightmare. But the good thing is she found Hamlet, the guy who have crush on her. Soooo cute xD . This is my first book from Maurene Goo and I enjoy it. Hope you guys enjoy it too😉 . 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5 . #bookchallenge #readingchallenge #girlwholovestoread #englishnovel #bibliophile #bibliophilemy #booknerd #ebook #bookreview #bookcommunity #bookworm #booklovers #bookloversmy #bookaddict #bookaholic #booknerd #igreads #booksuggestions #ya #youngadult #fiction #bookstagram #readingchallenge #ixxreadinglist #thewayyoumakemefeel #maurenegoo
