I have been hesitant to share this part of myself, and I think I want to now. All this witch talk of late has me compelled, and I feel like I have a right to speak on the subject. I am a direct descendant of one of the Salem Families. The only reason the Davis side of the family is here is because the Blessing-Townes-Nurse Family's youngest daughter Abigail was not killed with the rest of the family. Whether or not these people were really witches is just incorrect semantics and distorted religious brainwashing. The jury missed the point by 9000 miles. And whether or not they were guilty of witchcraft (sigh...) the whole witch subject is strongly imprinted on my dna, and I have always felt a lot of emotions in regards to the subject. It's actually triggering for me. If you really don't believe me I can fetch the papers from my grandma. Anyways I just want to say that *everyone* is channeling universal creative and intuitive power. Some are more connected than others, sure. But we are all powerful and magical fractal projections of that god/energy/source/consciousness thing so many speak of. It makes me happy to see people owning their witchy awesomeness. This tells me people are getting closer to their nature and feeling more empowered. And on that note my desire is not to set myself apart or above as a witch, But to encourage and empower people to own their power, magic, intuition, their unique essence and skills, creativity, and connection to nature. Which is what all that witchy stuff is really about. Seeing and valuing the life in everything and creating alchemical change out of any situation. Your own power and intuition are what will stand when everything else falls down on you. Own it. And don't let anyone make you think *they have it and you don't*. Literally everyone is pure magic embodied. We've just been brainwashed by religion for a long-ass time. Ps however I do strongly discourage superiority mindsets in regards to magic because it is inaccurate and can even be dangerous, leading to tampering with or invading others' free will which is actually black magic.... ..... ..... ..... ..... And leads to majorly shooting oneself in the foot...

My German translation of Richard Baxter's "The Certainty of the Worlds of Spirits: fully evinced by unquestionable histories of apparitions and witchcrafts, operations, voices, &c" Richard Baxter was a famous English Puritan who lived from 1615-1691. December 9th is his day of remembrance in the protestant calendar. His late work "The Certainty of the Worlds of Spirits" published in his year of death in London contains a big number of reports about ghost sightings, poltergeist experiences and evidences of witchcraft. Baxter wanted to prove that there is an invisible world that is inhabited by good and evil spirits. His conclusion: Because there is satan doing his disgraceful work there must be also god and his angels. Already in the foreword Baxter criticises the lack of faith of his contemporaries who only believe what they can see with their own eyes. "The Certainty of the Worlds of Spirits" was used as a work of reference during the Salem Witch Trials. . #antiquarianbook #oldbooks #oldbook #antiquebooks #antiquebook #rarebooks #rarebook #vintagebooks #vintagebook #bookstagram #instabooks #antiques #woodcut #engraving #SalemWitchTrials #RichardBaxter #witchcraft #witchhunt #ghosts #satan #devil #geister #Hexen #Hexenverfolgung

Salem, 1692 : The dateline is as recognisable as any in American history. Fourteen women and five men, convicted of witchcraft, were hanged, and one more, a man who refused to plead, was crushed to death, a day’s ride from Boston, in a lesser county of a marginal British colony — the periphery of the periphery, from the perspective of London, let alone of Paris or Canton. “The population of New England in 1692 would fit into Yankee Stadium today,” Stacy Schiff writes. And yet the plague of witches that besieged Salem and its environs that year has spawned more than 500 books, nearly 1,000 dissertations and twice as many scholarly articles (written in at least 10 languages, including Korean, Turkish and Mandarin), to say nothing of the novels, plays, ballets and movies based more or less loosely on that more or less true story. By almost any measure, Salem’s crisis is more gripping than it was important. “The Witches,” Schiff’s glib, compendious and often maddening account of the events of that fateful year, does a great deal to punch up the story, but little to explore and still less to understand its significance. An acclaimed biographer of subjects as diverse as Cleopatra and Véra Nabokov, Schiff here broadens her lens, like an artist turning from portraits to teeming allegories: Rembrandt taking up the work of Bosch. But a crowded canvas does not a probing history make, as “The Witches” powerfully demonstrates. #book #bookstagram #booklover #salem #salemmassachusetts #salemwitchtrials #witches #witchesofinstagram #witchesofinstagram🔮🌙 #witchessociety #hedgewitch #greenwitch #cunningfolks #wiseman #wisewoman

Ok, so one of my long time hobbies is computer games. It started way back when I was a kid with things like Age of Empires, The Sims, and of course... Nancy Drew mysteries! They still make these games. There's 33 I believe in total, spanning back to my childhood. In it you play as Nancy, trying to solve a mystery. They usually have a theme, and have educational elements. Yesterday, The Babe came across the newest release while browsing Steam and promptly bought it for me because of the title, not even knowing I used to play those games. This newest release, is "Midnight in Salem", and is in regards to a (fictional) arson attempt against the Hathorne House. Real life #salemmassachusetts locations are used as models for the game, and the real names of the accused are featured in a museum you visit. So far, I'm enjoying the game and the included history. I think it's awesome to make games that include real educational history. I haven't finished it yet, there's so far been a #ghost, an #herbalist , and it takes place during #halloween🎃 ! #witchesofig #salemwitchtrials #salemwitch #samhain #nancydrew #hedgewitchery #historyofwitchcraft
