I love people a lot more than i show. What scares me is what they'll do once they know.

Fountain Of Wealth This is called 'The Fountain Of Wealth'. When I was setting up for this shot, there were suddenly 15 kids jumping between the lit waterjets. Inside I was yelling, nooooo, please, it's not the moment. I had to take about 20 pics to blend the different parts together. It has been a hell of a job, removing the kids and matching the shifting colors of the jets. ---------- This image was created with: Haida 150mm filterholder Haida CPOL / Haida 3 stops ND / Haida Clear Night @haidafilters, @haidabelgium, @haidaindonesia, @haida Are you using Haida filters ? Post your shots on #haidabelgium ------------ Nikon D850 / Nikon 14-24mm ------------⁣ Find me on: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/alec.lux 500px: https://500px.com/aleclux1 Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/aleclux/ ------------ #longexposure#lazyshutters#longexposurephotography#longexpoelite#haidafilter#haidaindonesia#longexposure_shots#longexpo#longexposureoftheday#longexpohunter#amazing_longexpo#ig_shotz_le#longexpo_addiction#bluehour#bluehourphotography#nightshot#atnight#night#nightlights#citylights#cityatnight#nightsky#nightscape#singaporelife#singaporetrip#singapore⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ #singaporeinsta⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ #ig_singapore#sgarchitecture

Taken at The Palette, Pasir Ris Grove. One of the most prominent facility here is the pool, which stretches through the condo.

From arrival it's not hard to notice Singapore’s dedication towards re-establishing connections between nature and the built environment 🍃 The impressive Jewel designed by legendary Moshe Safdies, "weaves together an experience of nature and the marketplace, dramatically asserting the idea of the airport as an uplifting and vibrant urban center, engaging travelers, visitors and residents, and echoing Singapore’s reputation as ‘The City in the Garden’." . . @JewelChangiAirport #JewelThroughMyEyes #ChangiArchitecture #JewelChangiAirport #SGArchitecture #archi_unlimited #architect #archdaily #architecture #architectureporn #architecture #architecturelovers #archilovers #singaporeairport #indoorwaterfall #rainvortex #jewelsingapore #chasingwaterfalls #wheninsingapore #nature #biodiversity #visualsofearth #travelphotography #travelsingapore #visitsingapore #discoveringsingapore #singaporeairlines #discoversingapore #wanderlust

In researching all of the HDB's flat types and the blocks which contain them, the most confusing typology to find information on must be the HDB Maisonette. This is really because there were not one, not two but three categories of maisonettes. For starters, HDB maisonettes came in two flavours - the 5-Room maisonette at 135 sqm and the executive maisonette at 148 sqm in size. In fact the first HDB maisonettes to be conceived and built were not HDB maisonettes, yes I typed that right. This was because of the existence of the now defunct Housing and Urban Development Company (HUDC) which was created by the HDB in the early 1970s to cater for the growing affluent middle class. Thus, the first maisonettes built by the HDB were for the HUDC and were located at the now demolished Amberville (what is today's Silversea condo) and they were completed in two phases - the first being in 1978. The very first high-rise HDB 5-room maisonettes to be announced by the HDB were the ones in this image I made - at Block 60 Dakota Crescent. They were scheduled for completion in end 1981 and were most certainly completed by 1983 as they have an official lease start date of October 1983. They were however mentioned significantly in newspaper reports in 1981, so they were either delayed or were not handed over to residents immediately after completion. In any case, block 60 Dakota Crescent is a HUGE block that is roughly U-shaped and consists of 134 5-room maisonettes and oddly, 28 4-room flats. When they were first sold to the public, the flats cost SGD 112,800. These days, they transact for close to a 1 million dollars, with every single unit for sale at over SGD 900,000 on the resale market. . . . #publichousing #sgarchitecture #singaporearchitecture #vernacular #vernaculararchitecture #archdaily #archivingsg #architecture #architecturesg #architecturelovers #architecturephotography #architectureporn #sglandscape #sgcityscape #cityscape #landscape #landscapesg #landscapephotography #sonya7riii #sonyalpha #sonyalphaprofessionals #fullframefullon #guardiancities #bealpha

《Look far》 Sometimes in life we get so short sighted and get caught up in the things around us that we fail to see the beautiful things outside of our circle.

The Heart & Soul of Chinatown A nice view of People’s Park from 335A Smith Street during the evening golden hour. . On the left we have People’s Park Complex that was completed in 1973. It was at that time the largest shopping complex in Singapore and featuring Singapore’s first atrium in a shopping centre. The development’s principal architect Design Partnership (now DP Architects Pte Ltd) was led by William Lim, together with Koh Seow Chuan and Tay Kheng Soon. Along with Golden Mile Complex and Golden Mile Tower, it was part of the Government's first Land Sales Programme beginning in 1967 where land parcels were offered for sale with a leasehold of 99 years. . On the right, just beside the new State Courts Towers that will soon be complete, we have People’s Park Centre that was completed in 1976, also another mixed-use development which is made up of residential units, shops and offices. . On the far right, behind People’s Park Centre, we can just make out Furama City Centre (previously known as Furama Hotel) that was completed in 1987. . The point I'm trying to make is this – I believe that the old can coexist with the new. As we sell and demolish many of the old to make way for the new, we run the real risk of losing the stories and histories within the walls that would be really hard to resurrect from the grave once the buildings are gone. I do not wish to see a Singapore devoid of buildings from an important era only just because they are not conserved and easily demolished. . . "Architecture is the very mirror of life. You only have to cast your eyes on buildings to feel the presence of the past, the spirit of a place; they are the reflection of society." - I.M. Pei

A #throwback to spotting "Sky Mirror" (2010) by Anish Kapoor in the beautiful lotus pond at the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. It reflects the lotus flower shaped architecture of the ArtScience Museum by Moshe Safdie, which is sometimes referred to as "The Welcoming Hand of Singapore". Just stunning to see! ______________________________ #AnishKapoor #singapore #painterlyaccents
