📢📢YALL VOTED TO KEEP POSTING MY RECOVERY📢📢 🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹 Squats felt better yesterday, only my left heel was rising up mostly, reaching depth felt more comfortable on my flexors & there was less forward leaning 💪💪 I've been mostly focusing on FLEXING THE GLUTES because it's the one thing I kept ignoring. Crazy the difference you see when you engage the cheeks 😅 🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹 Deadlifts also went better. To help me actually feel comfort reaching depth during set up, I didn't wear my belt & also just because its super lightweight & form focused. But why is setting up hard with lighter weight?!? As you can see me pulling 145(2nd vid) the bar starts to rise before I pull. The only thing I would say about my deads was the hand & foot placement were off. Because the bar knocking your knees is never cute, especially if you gon move heavy weight. Oh and my shins weren't parallel to the bar. But these are just lil mistakes that will go away once im comfortable again. Felt GOOD to deadlift though ouf I miss it 👅👅👅 🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹 #powerlifting #powerliftingjourney #powerliftingwomen #powerliftingchicks #form #girlswhopowerlift #girlswholift #sistersofpowerlifting #squat #squats #skwaats #skwaat #deads #Deadlift #deadlifts #weightloss #weightlossjourney #thickandfit #thickfit

[Knee Valgus and Hip Shift Squat Fix]⁣ ⁣ Rae has been absolutely putting in the work and is getting stronger, but she hasn’t been able to shake this right knee collapse she’s been getting in her squats. ⁣ ⁣ 1) comparison of before and after⁣ ⁣ 2) before squat. Note the large amount of femoral internal rotation⁣ ⁣ 3) 9090 right iliacus inhibition with AF and FA external rotation to open her right hip back up. Working on keeping her left hamstrings on as the support muscle instead of pushing too much with the quads. ⁣ ⁣ 4) after the intervention (5 minutes later). Still a little bit of wiggle at the knee and hip but you can see how big the difference is and she can hold a relatively externally rotated hip and femur position on the right side now! ⁣ ⁣ Nice work Rae! ⁣ ⁣ For online or in person coaching inquiries, send me an email at [email protected] or via DM⁣ ⁣ at StrongerYou Personal Training

Do your pull ups look like this? • Here’s a simple change you can make to maximise how much you use your lats. Video 1 i lose scapula retraction at the top. Lots of people aim to get chin to bar. This done with an overhand grip means you’ll end up protracting your shoulder blades at the top. Not the strongest position to be in when doing a pulling movement. • Video 2 I don’t go as high but lift my chest towards the bar not my head. This enables me to fully retract my shoulder blades (squeeze back) and fully use my lats. Don’t go for height just aim to push the chest out and you’ll see it’s much harder. • Give this a go and expect a few less reps than usual but all of the back gains 💪🏻. • #greaterlondonpowerlifting #sbd #skwot #skwaat #skwaats #benchpress #binch #benchpress #deadlift #didlift #pullups #calisthenics #barbellsandbodyweight #strengthcoach #strengthtraining at Duo Chelsea

Pre-Peaking Phase Week 1 Day 3. Deadlift Day. 1. 3RM Attempt 245kg. Not the result I wanted. 1st attempt at it grip slipped at lockout but the rep itself felt great. Re-grouped, squeezed the shit out of the bar and went again. Grip held no problem this time but I think the fatigue from first attempt got to me a bit. Rep 1 felt OK still but went to shit from there. Failed on 3rd rep. Still, a double on 245kg is the heaviest double I've done so I'll take that. 2. Block Pull 4x5 170kg. These felt great for what it's worth. Huge thanks to @divinemacabre, @quad_dammit_neha and David for everything today. Here's hoping I can redeem myself yet. at Physical Culture Gymnasium

[Deadlift Cue]⁣ ⁣ Dylan demonstrating an awesome on how to drive from the hips on hip hinge movements like the Romanian deadlifts and conventional deadlifts. ⁣Please also note that the deeper into the chorus the song gets, the harder he thrusts the hips though 😜 ⁣ Instead of just pulling back to stand up, he focuses on driving the hips THROUGH the bar which keeps the hamstrings and glutes on while preventing a late firing of the glutes which makes you lock out with your low back. ⁣ ⁣ For online or in person coaching inquiries, send me an email at [email protected] or via DM

One of the most interesting things about powerlifting are the different personalities and characteristics/archetypes of the different lifters. There are a lot of different personalities, amongst a small pool of lifters that can call themselves some of the strongest human beings out there. You can’t be the best version of someone else though, and can only be the best version of yourself. It’s good to have lifters you look up to, but it is definitely worth keeping in mind to not try to be the next Larry Wheels or the next Ed Coan, but instead strive to be the first you. The more years I lift, I find that while I do change and grow as a person, my inner character strengths, weaknesses, tendencies, inclinations remain the same in many ways. Different friends of mine have different strengths and weaknesses, but it’s about just bringing the best you that you can bring each day to training, and to the platform come meet day. I admire some friends of mine for how hard working they are with training, or how strict they are with diet, or how meticulous and flawless they are with exercise form. The key I believe is to embrace your strengths and know your weaknesses, really know your own unique personality and traits and tendencies and then build on all of it to progress towards the goals you set. Lifted A and Lifter B may hit the same total.. but what it took each of them respectively to hit that total, what their process was, methods were, or story was or personal journey was can be quite different. It’s about becoming the best version of yourself (2 different things for 2 different people) and not just about what total or numbers you hit. 🦁👊💪 Pic is Arnold, Franco, and third bodybuilder, outside muscle beach in Venice, CA

415x2.5 In this video I’m pulling with form that is horribly wrong and just incorrect. I should point toes out much more, open hips more, and be locking out my deadlift by pushing out hips. Instead, in this video, I’m locking out by hinging my lower back... which is wrong form, bad form, and high injury risk. I had to watch some YouTube videos on super basic form and make changes ... I should have the strength to do this weight for 5+ reps .. but bad form can limit me, hold me back and be deadly .... workin on it lol.

1
@thestrongest_ever

I think that strength and muscle can be built together, and that you only really need to specialize more towards one or the other, towards the end of a training block, if you are planning on competing. If you were competing for powerlifting or for any other sport, your exercises would get more specific towards the end very close to competition. This would mean doing as close to a heavy one rep squat/bench press/deadlift , and little to nothing else during that time (so that come competition day, your body is used to doing that and only that). Powerlifting and bodybuilding training can be similar and go hand in hand, but would differ only towards the end of the training cycle the most. At that point bodybuilders would be dieting to be ready to look good and lean on stage, and would not be lifting their heaviest weights. They would be focused on looks primarily and likely lifting lighter weights and maintaining a muscular look.... and powerlifters would be lifting the big 3 lifts only, doing them heavier and be focused on lifting as much as possible come competition day. Besides nearing competition, for most of your training you would probably not be pushing towards any extremes, and could for the most part be building muscle and building strength at the same time then ...🏋️‍♂️👌

My friend Kelvin is someone who I really look up to a lot, for a lot of different reasons But one of the main reasons is that he’s a guy of strong character and virtues. Kelvin was always the strongest guy in the gym I’d seen, but he would always be kind and humble to everyone and always willing to share knowledge and tips and help out. I learned from him that you can become the strongest guy at your gym but still be a regular guy, be kind, and humble and not a dick to other people lol. I also learned that it matters more how your character develops and the person you become on the inside and the kind of person you are with others (more than how your lifts or strength progresses; some people get stronger but are still bad and rude to others...) Here’s Kelvin squatting 500 lbs x 7 reps!! Go give him a follow, one of the strongest and coolest friends I know !! alphasaurus74 at LA Fitness - ALHAMBRA/FREMONT

Really proud of this 255 1st set of 5 of 2 Proud of this not cause it’s the heaviest I’ve gone but more because I was scared as f but went for it and still hit it ok. Powerlifting is pretty damn hard, I really think so ... and you’ve never made it; it’s always pretty crazy hard and never gets easier.. but I enjoy it for that reason. It forces you to grow and have courage and face your fears metaphorically each time you go to lift. As long as you can be careful enough to not get injured, it’s a challenging but very fulfilling game. One which I hope I get to play for a really long time. 💪😁 at LA Fitness West Covina - E. 445 deadlift, weighing 10 lbs heavier, a little over a year ago. Look at how arrogant, cocky, and lazy, and sloppy I was hahaha. A year later, I’m a completely different person and different lifter. I lift really quietly now, am calm, and focused, am thoughtful, deliberate, precise, and more serious. I’m more careful about my form and much more focused on being effective with technique and with each rep. I’m not necessarily better as a person than I was last year, perhaps just different. But it’s interesting to see how I’ve changed in the last year. And I hope that I’m different the year after this one too. Maybe even better in some sort of way too, we’ll see 😉🙃💪

@thestrongest_ever

In my opinion: the best training program is one that is very very simple, that you just stick to and do consistently.. and see through to completion. The more years I’ve trained the simpler I’ve tried to make it. Always have aimed to simplify, and focus on the fundamentals of good form, quality technique and sets and reps, being mindful of my training sessions, being balanced and getting the work on paper done effectively each training day. Then go home and eat my food and sleep and let the recovery process begin.🦁☀️🔁

So much of life is based on just perception, and how you look at things. Your problems aren’t as bad or as extreme as they seem.. you’ll probably survive or be ok, and someone always has it much worse.... if you think of it, your best day ever and worst day ever may not be that different. Yes what happens matters .. but a lot of life is how we choose to react and how we choose to see things. So why not choose to see things in a more positive or more constructive light? 😎😎👌
