585 for a single on squat today. Did a double and then a single at 545 after. Then a 2x4 on bench at 410. Still very very fatigued from the weekend. Honestly I was super frustrated today. I want to train hard and it's felt like every week I have more and more responsibilities that conflict with training. I feel frustrated that I can't train as hard and heavy as I want. Some squat action! Today I focused more on smaller weight and higher reps. However, I felt good about my previous sets and decided to shoot for a quick pause rep at 315. 415x3 wide stance with a pause 520x65 ft 620x65 ft I did the same set/rep/weight with a close stance and my Olympic shoes before all of this. Pauses are a lot harder without a belt or even when you aren't bottomed out. I forgot my shoes to go a carrying with so I was in socks. It felt fast but my feet got a good workout from trying to grip the ground. It's one of the reasons that I didn't belt up and go heavier. Hello deadlifts my old friend. The hype was real for this lift. Successfully pulled an easy 335kg for an easy 5kg PB. Here is me dropping 350kg at the top because I have terrible grip. Meet Recap! This was my first time competing at @usapowerlifting Raw Nationals. I got a 427.5 kg (939.4 lbs) total which is the highest USAPL total I have had during a meet. Out of 46 girls I got 8th in my flight and 18th overall in the 84kg weight class. The support of everyone in the federation and the powerlifting community is the reason why I lift 鈥 they are encouraging, inclusive and positive. Last day at GKK. Hypertrophy Phase Week 3 Day 1. 1&2 - High Bar Squat 5x5 165kg. Some felt better than others here but overall happy with it. Heaviest I've gone on high bar, I think. 3&4 - 3ct Pause Bench 5x5 115kg. This actually makes me really happy because they moved with decent speed. Heels down setup seems to be working so far. Still maintaining somewhat of an arch and what I've lost in it I feel I've more than made up for with leg drive. Omg what a day I had yesterday competing in my first powerlifting competition! 馃榾馃帀馃挭 Some folk might not get it but powerlifting means alot to me. I can now happily say that I am officially a powerlifter 馃挭 I managed to achieve all my goals and more on the day. I got my 120kg squat, 50kg bench and 135kg deadlift which was a new PB! Giving me a total of 305kg!! 馃榾馃帀馃帀馃帀馃帀馃帀 This meant I placed 2nd 馃槺馃槺馃槺 and got myself a medal 馃馃帀馃帀 still can't believe it! Never in my life did I think I would place! I am so proud of myself 馃榾 The day meant so much to me and would like to thank Scottish Powerlifting for holding such a great event. I did a LOT of vertical pressing and horizontal/vertical pulling which left my lats pretty smoked. . The idea here is pulling the lats into a position of inhibition and allowing for good mediastinum expansion which will let you not robot walk after you finish your meatheadery. Why is this important? If your lats are locking you into extension, your hips will stay stuck too. Using the breath and abs to open this up is HUGE . Hands down one of the most brutal ab exercises I鈥檝e ever done AND I left the gym feeling pretty darn good and not cranked into extension. . 馃攽keep your pelvis tucked, ribs down, and scaps protracted 馃攽push your exhale as hard as possible and inhale through the nose into your mid back to increase your curvature. 馃攽3 reps of 3 breaths and you鈥檙e set. . Knock these out at the end of your workouts for a week. Worst case, you can breathe better and feel your abs work. Hey, you might even get more efficient/stronger too 馃槈 . 445 deadlift, weighing 10 lbs heavier, a little over a year ago. Look at how arrogant, cocky, and lazy, and sloppy I was hahaha. A year later, I鈥檓 a completely different person and different lifter. I lift really quietly now, am calm, and focused, am thoughtful, deliberate, precise, and more serious. I鈥檓 more careful about my form and much more focused on being effective with technique and with each rep. I鈥檓 not necessarily better as a person than I was last year, perhaps just different. But it鈥檚 interesting to see how I鈥檝e changed in the last year. And I hope that I鈥檓 different the year after this one too. Maybe even better in some sort of way too, we鈥檒l see 馃槈馃檭馃挭

One of the oldest and strongest deadlifters of back in the day. Bob Peoples deadlifted 725 lb. at 181 lb. body weight, on his small farm, in the 1940s. Some of the strength numbers of back in the day were really crazy and as good if not better than today. 馃憣馃弸锔忊嶁檪锔忦煉
