Shankarpali..!! 🍟 . . . . . . . . . . . . . Recipe: 1. In a pan add one cup sugar, one cup water and boil until the sugar gets dissolves completely in water. Add cardomom powder and flavours if you wish. 2.Add two cubes of butter and stir well for another 10 minutes. 3. In a separate utensil, add plain flour/wheat flour, sesame seeds and add this sugar & butter syrup and knead the dough. 4. Make a circular pattern in dough using chappati roller and cut it in to small pieces using knife. You can use impressions if you wish but make sure it is thin. 5. 🌯Rice paper spring salad rolls🌯 . . I make a batch of these and keep in a vacuum container in the fridge for my mid afternoon snack. . . These have: 1- moong sprouts (I’m going heavy on the moong lately to get enough protein in because I’m training more at the gym) . 2- thin carrot sticks . 3- chopped lettuce . 4- thin cucumber sticks . 5- thin celery sticks . 6- coriander leaves (no need to chop) . Served here with a tomatillo & jalapeño sauce. . The rice papers are available in most supermarkets in the Asian sections. I used @bluedragonuk from @waitroseandpartners . . Simply soak them in hot water for a few seconds, fill the centre, roll half way, tuck in the ends and roll to the end. The start h of the rice paper when wet acts as an adhesive so the rolls stick together nicely. . I didn’t put any sauces inside this time and kept it all raw so that they would last for a few days. . . Is snacking an issue for you? PROTEIN BALLS 🤤 Pretty much like a healthy version of “no bake cookies” 🍪 😋 Recipe below!👇🏼 . Makes about 16 balls: ▪️1 Cup oats (old fashioned or quick)🍚 ▪️1/2 Cup (or 125 grams) Peanut butter 🥜 ▪️1/3 Cup unsweetened coconut 🥥 ▪️1-2 scoops of vanilla protein powder 🍦 ▪️1/4 Cup (or 85 grams) honey 🍯 ▪️1-2 Tbls of water (helps them stick together) ▪️Optional (...but also kinda mandatory because it makes them SO good) 🤤: 1/4 Cup dark chocolate chips 🍫 . DIRECTIONS: -Mix all ingredients together. Roll into balls and place them flat on a cookie sheet or in a Tupperware container and place in freezer for 1 hour. Store in the fridge after that and enjoy 😊👌🏼 . 💢Tips💢 -Heat honey and peanut butter in microwave for 10-20 seconds to help with the mixing process. Posting these again because they are that good ! I want the whole world to try it lol. I want all snackers especially to try this . Craving a cookie ? Don’t reach for the cookie jar just yet . Make your own and take out all the guilt that comes with the sugar in commercial cookies ! I baked a second batch and added apples for more sweetness . I’m loving it! So I use 1 banana . 1 egg . 1 tbspn of shredded coconut . Some diced apples for more sweetness . And 1 cup of @quakercanada Supergrains hot cereal (the one with oatmeal , flaxseed and quinoa) So in a bowl , mash up your banana . Break and whisk your egg in it . Then add the coconut , apples and then put in the oatmeal . Mix thoroughly together . Put some butter on your oven tray so it doesn’t stick . Shapen the mixture with your palm and place in the tray Preheat your oven (350 degrees ) bake for 15-20 mins . I spread some @nutellaca at the end for some added yumminess. Pairs nicely with a glass of warm milk /yogurt . As most of my posts are fat loss-related, I thought I’d share some important tips for those hard-gainers looking to increase their calories. - The common error when wanting to build more muscle is to increase protein. This should stay at the same level regardless of your goal (0.6-1g / lb of BW). You should look to increase carbs &/or fats at meals. - Shakes are another convenient way to add in extra calories for much less fibre. It’s the opposite of fat loss so essentially you can aim to drink more of your calories. - Keeping hyperpalatable (tasty) snacks handy is another useful strategy. Aim for each snack being around 200 calories as a good starting point. - Remember to be consistent, this isn’t going to happen overnight. It can be useful to write down a few daily tasks to help you keep your food & calories in check alongside your training 💪🏼. - Give this a try and see how you get on. Trisha and I know they will love them just as much as our littles (and husbands) do. . How to video link in bio. . NUT-FREE GRANOLA BARS . Ingredients:. · 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats (gluten free, if desired) · 1 cup Pitted Dates · ½ cup sunflower butter · ¼ cup raw sunflower seeds · ¼ cup raw pumpkin seeds · ¼ cup flaxseed meal · ¼ cup chia seeds · ¼ cup dark chocolate chips . Directions: Step 1 In a food Processor combine oats, sunflower butter and dates. . Step 2 Mix until well combined. Be sure to scrape the sides and pulse a few more times. . Step 3 Transfer to a bowl and mix in sunflower and pumpkin seeds, flax meal, chia seeds and chocolate chips. It’s ok to use your hands for this, it does get tricky, but don’t give up! Step 4 Once it’s all combined, transfer to a silicon loaf pan, or greased (with coconut oil) pan. Press until nicely flat on top and cut into desired width. . Drizzling some melted chocolate on top before cutting is always an added treat. Feel free to add other dried fruit or fun ingredients to this base; just be sure to do it once you have completed the first step. #Oats Khichdi for Babies . #Oatmeal is a common dish prepared for babies across the world. Add some Indian flavor to regular oats to make this yummy Oats Khichdi for babies! . #INGREDIENTS ¼ cup quick cooking oats 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion 1 garlic cloves , chopped or minced 2 tablespoon finely chopped tomato 2 tablespoon grated carrot 2 tablespoon fresh green peas 1 tablespoon sweet corn (optional) 1 tablespoon coriander, finely chopped ¼ teaspoon cumin seeds ½ teaspoon black pepper powder Pinch of turmeric powder Salt to taste 2 teaspoon ghee . #METHOD 1.Heat a sauce pan and add ghee to it. Crackle cumin seeds. 2.Now add garlic followed by finely chopped onion. 3.Saute for a while. Now add all the vegetables except coriander leaves and stir fry. 4.Add salt (for babies over 1 year), turmeric powder and stir. Cover and cook the veggies for 2-3 minutes. 5.Add 2 cups of water and let it to boil. Add the oats and mix well to avoid lumps. 6.Simmer and cover the pan. Let the khichdi cook for 2-3 minutes. Add finely chopped coriander leaves and black pepper powder. Mix well and turn off the flame. 7.Mash the veggies well with the help of back of a spoon. The flavors I get are peanut butter & dark chocolate sea salt, they’re both delicious 🥰 ⠀ In other news, I had kinda a sucky day yesterday in my personal life, which lead to me not sleeping well, which lead to me not having that great of a start today either. ⠀ When I think about the stressful day I had yesterday, the only thing that makes me say it wasn’t a bad day was because I had a great workout. I had a hard time getting to the gym today but I just kept thinking about how I’ll feel after, and that alone just got me there. ⠀ Working out is more about aesthetics. Exercise affects your overall health, mood, hormones, emotions, relationships, etc. ⠀ The reason I’m sharing this with you all is because I too struggle and stress daily, but exercising is crucial to my me time and distressing. I hope anyone who is reading this I can encourage to find this feeling some day too ✨
