I'm not breaking (or making) any personal records but the key is to stay active and keep moving. With my second pregnancy I had to wear a prenatal back brace in my 7th month because the back pain was so unbearable. I'm hoping to avoid that this time by keeping my core muscles strong. Muscles follow a rule of disuse hypertrophy, meaning if you don't use it, you lose it. The key to strong muscles is to stay active. I'm also very aware of how large my belly gets by the 9th month so I'm consciously trying to prevent the recurrence of an extreme diastasis recti. #stayactive #diastasisrecti

Gains!!! My workout routine is really paying off! When I did seated pull-ups before, by about the 8th one I'd be barely getting my bum off the hoop. Tonight I got all 10 to roughly the same height, rested a few minutes, and then did another 10! This is the 2nd set - recorded to prove to myself that I can do it and to show how much higher I'm getting than when I started. Pull conditioning day for me and the sis at @primal_eden . If you do A lot of pulling with your lats in your sport eg; pole, silks, calisthenics and many more make sure you balance your back therefore your posture (if you have rounded shoulders/kyphosis) with some good excersises that get your squeeze on between your shoulder blades (first two videos). chest stretches always help too and can seriously relieve upper back pain. . Another one smashing up the push-ups and putting most males to shame. Like lifting weights to build strength, it took some time, consistency and commitment. I never understand the fitness industry. For some reason "strength conditioning" to fitness people equals Dumbbells, barbells, weights and machines. In alot of fitness industry "strength conditioning" workouts the body weight exercises like dips and push ups are supplementary. My response to that is....you fools!! Those exercises are the Essence of strength conditioning. We shouldn't even have to say that these come under "bodyweight" or "calisthenics" as if it's some kind of niche. The street workout and Gymnastics community laugh at the fitness industry's notion of "strength". And you wonder why street workout lads and gymnasts can pick up a barbell and start lifting twice their body weight with no prior experience. All they need is a bit of form and bam they are lifting like pros. Push ups, dips, pull ups, muscle ups, rings ARE strength conditioning. With the first 3 basic movements, many people who go commercial gyms can't even perform even 1. And often with those that can, the reps and sets are limited. Forget weights and machines. If you're trapped on a desert island, you telling me you can't train? Bolloxx to that! Your body weight should be the priority, external load is secondary. Furthermore the only external load I tolerate is barbell, free weights, kettle bells and maybe some of the fancy functional toys. And for all those obsessed with aesthetics, if you train to push and pull your Body in addition to working on your mobility, your meat suit will most probably transform in appearance. #strengthconditioning #bodyweight #calisthenics #pushups #pushnpull at CapitaGreen Singapore

The Latissimus Dorsi, or Lats, are a very important but often forgotten shoulder stabilizer. For my baseball guys, the lats are anterior shoulder stabilizers when you lay your arm back to throw and then become powerful internal rotators as you transition into the acceleration phase of the throwing motion. Many baseball strength programs have a heavy dosage of lat exercises in them but often few, if any, lat stretches. Lat strains are fairly common in the throwing population but are sometimes misdiagnosed as biceps tendinitis. This is because lat strains can create anterior shoulder pain due to their attachment on the front of the shoulder. The video above is one of many lat stretches but it is becoming one of my favorites. Make sure that you keep a tight core and neutral spine throughout the stretch πŸ‘πŸΌ

Keep Your Athletes Going.. β€’ First week of practice for the basketball season is here and there's going to be a lot of mileage put on the bodies of high school athletes in the coming weeks. β€’ Now it's easy for us to tell the kids to suck it up and grind it out but is that really what they need? β€’ Geraldo and Jamaih rated themselves low on their self-evaluation saying that their legs were dead, but their upper body felt fine. β€’ We still trained this day but in a format that I could get a lot out of them with staying true to our framework minimal effective dose. β€’ They started their resistance phase for 5 min of biking on the assault bikes β€’ Next they went to their Prowler Marching and Farmer Carry series for 10 min β€’ Finally we ended with upper body push-ups and recline rows for oxidative tempos of 4-0-4 for 3 x 8 reps followed by some deep diaphragmatic breathing. β€’ We both won in this situation, I got a day of training. They got better on a variety of exercises that they could execute properly and with the best intent, while also helping them recover for the next day. at Body Creations Sports Performance & Fitness

The core must be stable for the 4 knots {Hips and Shoulders} to be able to move to the best of their ability. β€’ 😐 What? β€’ Let's talk planks today and a method to make sure you're in the proper positioning every time. β€’ πŸ”‘How? β€’ βœ…1. Start in a quadruped position { All 4's } βœ…2. Drop down to your forearms. βœ…3. Bring one leg back, dig your toes into the ground, and make sure it is straight. βœ…4. Repeat with the other legs βœ…5. Focus on a reach through the ground with your forearms and think about tucking your hips towards your belly button. β€’ Tips✍🏾 β€’ β˜‘οΈYou don't always need an external load to make this exercise harder. β€’ First focus on being able to hold a solid plank for at least 1 min. β€’ Next focus on creating more tension through your entire body. β€’ πŸ˜’ Things to watch out for. β€’ You should be able to put a stick on your back on have head, t-spine, and butt all in contact with the stick. Want to increase your vertical PT.4 ` The Vertical Repeat Jump is a progression from Vertical Jump w/ Stick . Once you’ve spent 2-4 weeks owning the Vertical Jump w/ Stick you then would be ready to move onto the Vertical Repeat Jump. ` Why? We’ve established a base for how to jump and land now we want work on our body utilizing the stretch shorting cycle and the efficient of our movements. ` βœ… There’s a few things I want you to keep in mind with these exercises. β€’ βœ… The box is not removed meaning there are more landing forces for you body to absorb. It is critical that you land in the same position as the snap down. ` β–ͺ️How to execute? ` βœ… 1. Start with arms above your head. β€’ βœ… 2.Aggressively throw your arms down, while executing this you want to think about jumping over a credit card. β€’ βœ… 3.Jump into the air, aggressively throwing your arms in the arm. β€’ βœ… 4. As you land, stick the landing and repeat the motion completing 2 jumps in a row { after 2-4 week progress to 3 jumps] ` Things to watch out for ` ❌Make sure you use your arms, around 25% of your vertical jumping ability comes from your arms alone. β€’ ❌You must land in the same position as the snap down to make this effective. You also want to spend as little time on the ground as possible. {Think about the ground being hot lava you want to spend as little time there as possible.} β€’ ❌Watch the knees! Make sure your knees don’t collapse in. Tested my handstand hold. 45 seconds πŸ˜ƒβŒšDefinitely going to set a personal best tomorrow. Aiming for 60 or over. The handstand is such an underrated exercise. The benefits speak for themselves - Strength and conditioning, build upper body strength, stronger wrists (granted you warm up your wrists before & after to avoid injury) strengthens core, Pecs, Triceps, Lateral Delts, Traps, Serratus Anterior (muscle which wraps around the top of your ribs helping to stabilise shoulder blades during the handstand) Just to name a few... The great thing about any bodweighted exercise is that you're incorporating multiple muscle groups including stabiliser muscles, so you're building functional strength which you're using in everyday life. Mastering your own bodyweight.
