“The gym was the one place I had control. I didn’t have to speak, I didn’t have to listen. I just had to push or pull. It was so much simpler, so much more satisfying than life outside. I didn’t have to think. I didn’t have to care. I didn’t have to feel. I simply had to lift.” The last few months have been undeniable hard on me. And hard for my friends and my Nana that had to worry about if I was going to be okay. Even with all the shitty things people have done to me and the crap luck I’ve had... I have also had so much love and support through those times too. I cannot deny that or how thankful I am for the people who have helped. I have learned I have a community here and one that I want to be apart of. I have learned it’s okay to NOT be okay, but giving up is not an option. Even when I wanted to resort to old behaviors... The photo of me crying was only last Sunday I felt completely defeated and there was a strong voice in my head that just kept answering, “but I really just want to go the gym and lift” It has been one week back home and I have killed a work out everyday harder then ever. I’ve used all of this to fuel me in the gym and I’ve never felt more determined. The gym is my therapy. I feel safe and stronger then ever. 🙏🖤 “People always judge us gym rats as self absorbed and arrogant. As if despite those factors I wouldn’t be considered strong. Nah, brah.... I AM STRONG. Period. End of story. Even without the muscles. And no, I won’t explain what I mean by that. . Holiday Baking Tip:⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ It can be easy to control yourself in a group setting, but what about when you're in the kitchen cooking up those big holiday meals or grandma's special Christmas cookies? Nibbling your way through a day full of cooking can add up, and I've heard from many of you this is one of your biggest struggles with staying on track through the holidays. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Pro Tip: Drink water with a drop of dōTERRA peppermint essential oil or suck on peppermint while you're cooking. It will keep your mouth busy, and will also fill your mouth with peppermint flavor which won't mesh well with food, leaving it not as appealing. It works like a charm!

One of the strongest held beliefs is that lifting weights will lead to a growth plate injury. This is a vulnerable area of bone that can be 2-5 times weaker than surrounding tissues. A fracture in this area is a serious injury…however barbell training has NOT been shown to increase risk of growth plate injuries when proper supervision and technique instruction are provided.✅ . This means children as young as 6 and 7 can start lifting without fear of sustaining a growth plate fracture and stunting their growth as long as technique is stressed, and proper weights are prescribed and good coaching is used.✅ . It is even safe for young athletes to find their 1 repetition maximum (1RM) without fear of injury (again provided proper technique and supervision). The force an athlete sustains when performing a maximal strength test (such as a 1 RM squat) is actually less than what they would be exposed to on a daily basis in most other sports.⛹🏼‍♀️🤾🏼‍♂️⛷ . So, just as with any age…lifting weights isn’t bad for you unless you’re doing it with bad technique and with improper weights.🏋🏼‍♀️❌ . Can’t be more grateful for the week I’ve just spent on Active Escapes Byron Bay. Our group were all just a special bunch of people, their hearts, kindness, encouragement and support was by far the best I have experienced on any retreat I have done. I went into this retreat not in the best of mindsets, had multiple injuries and not once did someone make me feel bad for not being able to participate in a training session or get through an entire session. I will be forever grateful for how all of you made me feel, you lifted my spirits and filled my heart with so much love and joy. I had so many laughs, so many good times and memories had and now I can’t wait to see what 2020 brings. A special shout out to my Amazing Race Team Doc’s Angels without all of you pushing me and supporting me through this race I don’t think I would of made it to the end. Pap you have changed my life over the past 3 years and have been such a great mentor and listener, I’ve been so blessed to have crossed paths with you! why should u bother doing these boring exercises?? . these 4 exercises are so beneficial but often get neglected bc they feel basic & boring... . push ups & chin ups/pull ups are dope bc they’re FUNCTIONAL exercises! functional training: makes your muscle strength last longer as you get older, prevent injury, & improve your ability to do daily activities & play sports!! . p.s. changes i must make to my push up form: 1️⃣ TUCK IN ELBOWS & 2️⃣ CHEST TO DA FLOOOR . CHIN UPS [i currently can do 1.7 chin-ups] ⭐️ increase grip strength (it’ll help ya w them deadlifts or rock climbing) ⭐️ amazing for ur core ⭐️ great for adding mass to them guns . PLANKS ⭐️ targets almost all muscle groups ⭐️improve ability to focus & concentrate ⭐️ good for ur spine, helps prevent back pain ⭐️improve posture ⭐️ CORE . PUSH UPS ⭐️ effectively work out so many parts of your body: chest, shoulders, triceps, core, lower back . BOX JUMPS (i add in squats for xtra glute work) ⭐️improve coordination & vertical jump for sports ⭐️ great for burning fat ⭐️ amazing for balance -> prevent injury in old age ⭐️ make ur legs hella strong ⭐️ CORE

Do you ask yourself why you feel what you feel, or why you do what you do? Do you have the courage to ask yourself the big questions of your life, and really listen to the answers? So often we don’t. Because it’s hard. It’s easier to lean back into the comfort of what we know and often we’re don’t ask because we’re too afraid of what we might find. So we live our life without being really present - just following along, repeating old patterns, doing what we think is expected of us. ✨ But it’s the only way out is through. Bringing the unconscious to consciousness so we can direct our life instead of just letting it happen to us. Because life is what you create it to be. You can’t control everything and bad things do happen even if it’s not your fault, but still, your life is your responsibility! You are responsible for your feelings, your experiences. You define your life and create your fate. ✨ I’ve stopped leaning back this year. I’ve chosen action, and I can assure you I’ve done as many wrongs as I have done rights. But it’s all part of the path, my responsibility, my choice, my life. I’ve stopped calling it fate. I’m showing up for myself. One day after another, taking one more step on my true path of life. Mit navn er Lonnie Boe Pedersen og medejer af Auning Strength & Fitness og er i skrivende stund 44 somre, samt mor til 2, en pige på 6 og en dreng på 3 år. Jeg har stort set altid beskæftiget mig med bevægelse og det er aldrig kommet skidt igen. Jeg har været konkurrencesvømmer, dressurrytter og haft en stor passion for dans og danseteater, der har ledt mig ud i alle afkroge af bevægelse. Jeg har de senere år, været aktiv fitnessudøver på konkurrenceplan og har et længere CV på den konto indeholdende Danmarksmester titler i alle fitness kategorierne, Athletic Fitness, Body Fitness og Bikini Fitness, samt Nordisk Mester i Athletic Fitness, Vinder af Oslo Grand Prix i Bodyfitness, 4. Plads ved EM i Bodyfitness, VM deltagelse i Bodyfitness og meget mere. Jeg har Masters 1 rekorden i Bænkpres i 52 kg. klassen, den tog jeg senest i foråret 2019. Jeg har også haft stor succes med at vejlede andre fitness atleter og kunne i november dermed også prale af at være træner for en verdensmester i Figure. Jeg brænder for at skabe livsvarige forandringer hos mennesker og jeg arbejder derfor altid med det hele menneske som udgangspunkt. Jeg er passioneret omkring at arbejde med vaneændringer og har stor succes med at hjælpe mennesker af med negative tanker omkring deres krop og madskam. Jeg elsker at hjælpe HELT almindelige dansker med at blive den bedste version af sig selv. Sidst vil jeg tilføje at jeg har arbejdet fuld tid som selvstændig i over 8 år og stifter af LBP Strength & Fitness - et personligt træningscenter beliggende i Randers SV.’ Min mand og svigerfamilie er i øvrigt alle fra Auning og jeg kender derfor byen og området rigtigt godt :-)
