I've also been on diets all my life. You name it, I did it. So after drastic changes and working out 4 to 5 times a week, I have now lost a total of 170 pounds. It's an every day battle but it is so WORTH IT. ...that time when I tripped when I was working out and nearly caused internal injury to myself... oh yeah, that was this morning! 😂 That’s gonna leave a mark! 🤦🏼‍♀️ PSA: Pick Up your feet if you are wearing shoes and working out on carpet! Or just try this! I was really excited to do this move because I have been trying hard to strengthen my core (especially lower back) lately. 1. Start on hands and knees, with hands directly under shoulders, and knees directly under hips. 2. Walk your hands out until your body forms a straight line between your knees and shoulders. Keep your back flat. 3. Walk your hands back in until you’re on all fours again. Curl your toes under lift your knees up off the floor just an inch or two and then lower back down to hands and knees. ***You can make this move more difficult by starting with knees off the floor, walking out to full plank, and then back to starting position with knees staying off the floor. #motd #thatsgonnaleaveamark #becareful at Apollo Beach, Florida

When an acquaintance ask you to hang out and you don’t know them that well or don’t feel that comfortable around then yet...what do you usually say? I bet you say something along the lines as “l’ll try to make it.” Am I right? . So my next question. Why are you saying “I’ll try to eat healthy” or “I’ll try to workout” or “I’ll try to watch less tv.”.,,etc? Is it because you haven’t fully decided to commit to the change? . My computer is really kaput 😭 Day 7 of the #MakeFatCryChallenge is supposed to be lower body. So what I did instead is I did #Essentrics that focused on the lower body, plus #FatBurner from #DDPYoga. Got a lot of burnin' happenin' in my glutes, legs, thighs, and abs while i was doing the workouts. I hope this still counts as fulfilling @thebettyrocker challenge! Eat real food, hang out with real people= the 🔑 to life. ✨💞 #glutenfree #dairyfree ➰RECIPE YOU NEED➰ gluten free, dairy free crispy chicken tenderS- I use @traderjoes boneless chicken tenders- dip in eggs, then dip in a blend of @simplemills crackers and dehydrated potatoes flakes (cheap at Whole Foods and is🔑, add salt eppper onion powder garlic powder and Italian seasoning if you’d like. PRO TIP- double dip! As in, dip in egg, dip in dry mix, and then do it again. Add to a hot pan with olive or avocado olive that is on medium and fry well on both sides until crispy.

Oh my just went in... I have to say when I first did strength 50 I didn't like it at all.. It was my least favorite. .. Today was strength 50 I went in with a positive mindset and crushed it... I actually loved it.. it's up there with my favourites😀😀.. Its so funny how your mind will play tricks on you.. So happy I joined chris drownings shift shop university.... Its not the workout that changes its you.. Wow mind is shifting and I am flipping love this place I am in... So mind blowing.. FYI I used my 20 pound Sandbag omg no joke my body will be on fire already feel the burn.. Then it was super shift core with... you guessed it the Sandbag💪💪💪... Pardon my dirty mirror, #DogMomProbs (yes, that giant baby behind me can reach that high when she wants to 🙄) but I wanted to prove to y'all that this at-home fitness & nutrition thing that "doesn't work" DOES actually work! . When I started this journey, I was about 20lbs heavier. & I was ok with the number on the scale. I'm fairly tall, so the extra weight I'd put on from getting the Depo shot for 2+ years didn't really bother me. What DID bother me though was how I FELT in my body. I felt sluggish, heavy, bloated, & gross allllll the time 🤢It wasn't a healthy weight gain. It was from pizza & unnecessary medication flooding my body. When I started my journey, I had A LOT of people tell me I "didn't need to lose weight", I was "too skinny". Well for me, it's not about the weight 🙅🏼 It's about my confidence, my health, my mental state, & how I feel on a daily basis. The fact that my leggings that I got at my heaviest weight now fit a little too loosely is just proof to me that paying attention to my nutrition & fitness WILL get you results. & Also, the fact that I eat way more now than I did then is also proof to me how much the food we eat affects our bodies🍕🍟🍔🥗🍌🍠 . Still don't believe this at-home thing can work? You don't have to take my word for it, you can try it yourself & see the proof in the mirror. I was still half asleep when I started but finished strong -- today was 30 minutes of HIIT and arms! . Normally I sip on a protein shake afterwards but today my mom whipped us up breakfast sandwiches. Sooo good and I'm all about balance! . Remain patient. If what you're doing today will better who you'll be tomorrow, progress will eventually show itself. Sometimes it's crazy how much you can change without even noticing it yourself. ☝🏼Did I realize this was happening? HELL NO. But, Consistency is key. In workouts, In eating, In self love, In learning, In waking up every damn day with a dream to be the best version of yourself you can be. No matter how big or how small, your progress is valid - you don't need to prove anything to anyone but yourself. Prove to yourself that you CAN do it. Make yourself proud. If you're struggling right now, if you feel like you're going nowhere, believe me, I was there too! I thought I would never make this much of a difference in myself, and in only 8 months. It might not be the fastest progress, it might not be the most dramatic change, but I am damn proud of how far I have come, and how much I have changed, both mentally and physically. I was going to the chiropractor and physiotherapist every 2-3 weeks. They kept showing me new exercises do at home to help relieve my sciatic nerve pain, as well as my upper back pain. I was going to the gym 🏋🏼 for an hour to two hours 5-6 times a week, being active as much as I could. Running, soccer ⚽️, and lifting weights. But I wasn’t getting any stronger. My pain was still excruciating 😖. Using a magic bag and popping Advil regularly to just feel ‘normal’ again. . I seriously thought I had my nutrition all figured out too. All the while I was eating a bagel and double double 🤢 every morning before work. Eating fast food in “moderation”. And literally feeling sluggish and bloated ALL of the time. I felt like crap 💩 but kept feeding myself crap getting sucked into the vicious cycle. Chips and pop were my go to any night of the week while binge watching Netflix. . I scrolled past an old friend from university posting her workouts on social media. I watched this go on for a while. Not liking. Not commenting. Just watching 👀. I admired her and her hard work. She was strong 💪🏻. Just like how I wanted to be. To FEEL. . Finally, I made a choice. A choice to message 📲 her and ask her what she was doing. I knew it was going to be hard to get to where she was, but it was also hard staying where I was at 🙃. I had no idea what it all entailed. Do we ever 🤷🏼‍♀️? But I knew investing in her and whatever she was doing, WOULD give me a better quality of life compared to what I was currently doing!!! . I needed help. . NOW. No more pain. No more bloating. No more comparison trap. That is why I share what I am doing with YOU. I pay it forward daily to help other women reach their health and fitness goals everyday. . Ladies, lifting does make you bulky, it gives you curves in all the right places, it will make you feel empowered and strong. So over the years I’ve followed a lot of fitness IG pages for motivation and “body goals”. The intent being that these pages would encourage and motivate me. But yesterday I realized that many of the pages I was following didn’t build me up, but made me feel less than, lacking, hopeless. And this was through no fault of those pages. It was me. My issue was that I was following pages of women who were super glam, make up, (usually) implants (which is totally get if I could afford them 😂), in their 20’s... a whole bunch of things that are not me. So I was literally wavin this image continually in front of me of something I wasn’t even going to achieve because that’s just not my style. I consider having to wear something other than sweats all day a major inconvenience and make up? Pretty sure all my stuff is years old 🤣 . So to save my sanity I’ve unfollowed the pages that make me feel like less than. But now I’m struggling to find the pages of women who are like me. A different race other than white, Mom status, non glam. I still follow some of those pages, but I continually check how they’re making me feel. The minute I feel myself using their image to beat myself up [unfollow] . Do you guys have any pages to recommend? . Shorts @barbell_fitness

#transformationtuesday ✨ • It’s easy to look at this picture and see the physical changes to the tune of about 40lbs. What you can’t see is the change in mentality. • If I’m being honest, the mentality change was leaps and bounds more difficult than dropping the weight. And losing that weight was tough. But even after it was gone I still struggled with body image issues, a poor relationship with food, and being chained to the scale. • Those issues took time to work though but with practice and patience I’ve [mostly] broken free. I do still struggle with body image issues from time to time but food is my friend now and my scale has no control over me anymore. • These things take time. Let me put this into prospective. My youngest daughter was born in January 2014. I started really trying to drop the weight in April 2014. I lost 40lbs a year later. So that’s over 2 years that I’ve been working on my mindset. It’s only been within the last 9 months that I’ve really seen a difference in my mentality. • It doesn’t happen overnight. It does require work. Working out is all about mindset. . This week I am doing a program that isn't as intense as the last few that I've done. So I came into this workout with the mindset that it would be easy, that I would be doing the advanced moves, and that I would get through the whole workout with no problem. . Well... not all of that turned out to be true, but since I went in with that mentality most of it became true. . It wasn't necessarily easy, but I was already determined to stick it out and push hard, and because of that I can already tell I'm going to be sore tomorrow!!! at Saint Petersburg, Florida

When you are home alone & dying of heat stroke, it is totally acceptable to workout naked & listen to your fat clap you on right?...asking for a friend of course 🙄 My work/life balance has been off because it has been all work and no life lately but i decided today that I am already sleep deprived as it is, what is an extra hour more going to hurt in order to get a much needed workout in after a week off. Time to go in to coma mode as much as possible for now 😴

Lazy is not easy. I read that yesterday. It can be so easy to be lazy. I get it - sometimes we need a lazy day. That lazy day is the best!! But lazy all the time? Comes at a cost. We are unhappy. We are less productive. We feel like crap. We probably get sick more. We make more excuses. We complain. We are negative. We are snappy around our family, friends and co-workers. We can become miserable. Some might say hard work is not easy. You know what? They are right. But I would rather work my tail off, feel better, love and serve those around me better, and be more successful. The amount of effort is the same, so I will choose the second option.
