“Comparison is the thief of joy”. I find myself comparing my body to so many people on here, wishing I was taller or slimmer or more “shredded”. Why? All it does it bring me down. My body is completely different to there’s in so many ways. And going to be honest with you all - my mentality is shit atm just with my body confidence and feeling meh 😐 I trust myself I won’t go back down hill again, it’s just hard sometimes and all I want to do is run away. It's been about two weeks since my last weigh in, and I am surprised that I have lost anything. I have been eating like feel because I have been so busy with work, school, studying, and volunteering that i have been too tired to make my own food. Which means I have been eating out A LOT lately. This week I have tried to make it a goal to get back into eating healthy, home prepared meals because I know that is imperative to my success. Working out, on the other hand has always been the easy part for me because I love it! Even though I haven't been going every day like I used too (my schedule doesn't allow for it), I am trying to go as much as I can. On top of food and exercise, I am also trying to listen to my body and rest when needed. Who knew that overall health was so complicated? Flashback to some SWEET POTATO 🍠I had a few weeks ago with Mum 😊. I thought I'd just do a little update for you all. I haven't really said anything but I have been struggling a bit mentally. So I decided with my Mum to finally get all my crap together and be proactive in fighting this 👊🏼. We met with my school today and devised a plan around the rest of the year. In order to get my mental health back on track I've decided to only do 1-2 of my 6 exams. Although, I'm currently feeling a little bit of a failure due to the highly perfectionist side of me, I know that ultimately this was the right choice. I want to be better for my last year of school and this is how I have to do it! I thought I'd share this with you all to remind you that you have to put your health first! It's okay to not be okay and when you aren't okay try to do what is right for you! 💞

At this point shirts are optional, right? 🙈😂 but several of you have asked for tips on leaning out the stomach, ab exercises, how I've done this in 10 days so far, etc. So here's the three pieces of advice (that I'm implementing right now) that will help you: ✖️Your abs are going to be made in the kitchen. I'm literally not doing any specific ab exercises besides the ones that are in my workout. Nutrition is 🔑 how are you doing in that aspect? ✖️Up your weights NOW. I've been using 10's for the last year+ and I upped to 15s. Failure is good. 💪 ✖️Get yourself some accountability. My fit fam has kept me ON POINT because they're on point. 👯 ☝️ These are the places I would start. If you need help message me babe and I'll help you with a plan 😘 at Phoenix, Arizona

When motivation wavers, discipline kicks in. You won’t feel motivated every day or every workout, but when you create those habits and you are disciplined in the steps needed to reach your goals…that is where the magic happens! Making the decision and putting the plan in place is much harder than following the plan and seeing the positive changes. This applies to all aspects of life and not just fitness! On these cold, dark mornings it is habit that takes over for me. My body gets up and starts before my brain has a chance to argue. It’s taken a long time for that to happen and it started with unwavering discipline. That discipline turned into habit over the course of about a year. It didn’t take 21 days like people claim it takes to create a habit; it took a full year before it was no longer an inner battle. Keep fighting for your goals, eventually you can create new habits and a new lifestyle. I promise that it is not hard forever! Your goals change and you keep challenging yourself, but it really does become a way of life! at Leslieville

Yup.... much better!!! 😊🤗💃 Took me 5 days (5 days!) to de-bloat! This is what happens to me when I "indulge" ... and by that I mean eat gluten and over do it on the dairy and processed foods 🙁! . For whatever reason it took me a while to get away from those foods, but I am and I'm feeling so much better! See...its.bot only how I look, it also affects my physically. I get sharp pains, don't digest properly, it affects my mood....its just not pleasant at all! . Ask yourself these questions... ✅Do I have a fever? ✅Does my body ache? ✅Am I contagious? ✅Am I vomiting? If you said yes to any of these...HARD NO! 🙅🏻 Stay home. If you just have a runny or congested nose, you're coughing, have a sore throat, it's totally fine to workout BUT ⬇️ Don't push yourself too far if your energy is low. Stick to low/moderate intensity activities like 🚶‍♀️Walking 🏃🏻‍♀️ Jogging 💆🏻Yoga 💪🏼Light/moderate weights AVOID high-intensity activities like 🚫Sprinting 🚫Heavy weight-lifting 🏋🏻‍♀️ 🚫Intense sports No one at the gym wants your germs 🙅🏻🤢 and you're only making it worse by pushing in the gym. W I S D O M WEDNESDAY . Was genau passiert im Muskel, wenn er trainiert wird? . Aufgebaut ist ein Muskel aus unzählig vielen FASERBÜNDELN. Jeder dieser Muskelfasern besteht aus sogenannter MYOFIBRILLEN und diese wiederum aus dünnen AKTIN- und MYOSINfilamenten. Diese stehen miteinander in Wechselwirkung: Kommt der Befehl von Gehirn und Rückenmark zum Muskel sich zu spannen, dann greifen die Myosimoleküle wie kleine Haken in die Aktinfäden und ziehen diese aufeinander zu ➡ Die Muskelfaser verkürzt sich und wird dicker. . Die nötige Energie bekommt der Körper dafür aus den MITOCHONDRIEN, Zellorgane, die in jeder Muskelzelle vorhanden sind. Dort werden die Nährstoffe aus dem Blut verbrannt – ähnlich wie Benzin in einem Auto – und die daraus gewonnene Energie in dem ATP Molekül gespeichert. Dieses wandert in die Myofibrillen und gibt die gespeicherte Energie im Moment der Kontraktion ab. . After a month long hiatus from working out consistently I’m finally back in it for real... And I’m FRUSTRATED! It’s only been a week. 🙈 . . . Why can’t I see or feel any results yet? Why can’t I do everything I used to be able to do? Why is it still so hard?! Why am I still eating like crap?! 😤 . . . This is exactly when people quit. They say, “I’m doing everything right and I’m not seeing results so screw this! It doesn’t work!” Well.... Chances are you’re not doing everything right (look at your nutrition) AND... it takes TIME!!! No one gets results in one week. No one. You have to be patient. You have to change your lifestyle. You have to keep buying and preparing nutritious foods. You have to make better choices when you go out to eat or grab take out. You can’t undo months of damage instantly. You have to keep going, getting a little better everyday. ❤️ . . . Guys I know what it’s like to feel bad about yourself. I know what it’s like to want to change your health and fall off the wagon. People often use bodyweight exercises for glute activation, to wake up the glutes and get them firing before lifting heavy. This is great of course, but that doesn't mean that these exercises should only be seen as second best to the big lifts. High rep, bodyweight exercises have gained a bit of a bad rep recently 👎🏼 It's cool to deadlift and squat and hip thrust like a BO$$ but not so cool to do 50 bodyweight frog pumps in the middle of the gym 🐸😁 Don't discount resistance bands and bodyweight exercises, when done correctly you can build that booty! In my Body by MG guide, I include 4 optional Glute Pumper workouts, you can do them to finish off a workout, when you're on holiday and can't get to the gym or when you just want to stay home in your pyjamas 💁🏼 Because they are low intensity, you can do them everyday and you won't wake up sore the next day. Don't let these fool you, they will burn 🔥🔥🔥 1. Extended Fire Hydrant x30 each leg 2. Extended Donkey Kick x30 each leg 3. Reverse Split Squat x15 each leg 4. Frog Pumps x40 5. Although fitness is key for health, exercise is all about internal strength and courage. Like we encourage in our classes, exercise should not revolve around how you look but how you feel. Sweat out those emotions, release tension and de-stress while you pump you arms and move your legs. Remember inner strength is equally as important as outer.

This week I’m fully implementing a new workout split: push, pull, legs and so far so good 👊🏻 Just finished pull day with some sprints on the treadmill afterwards. Was getting so angry bc you know when there’s 2 guys purposely speaking super loud to each other about how much weight they’re about to use so everyone hears 😐 like idc get outta my ear space u ain’t impressing no one 🙄

Finally caught up! Day 18 of #doyouyogaintheoffice is #reversewarrior 🗡 As I am now caught up with the challenge, this brings me to the fact that I have definitely been struggling lately to balance everything. I want to be in a class everyday but it just is not practical for me right now. One day it will be, but in the meantime I have to find a happy medium. I have toyed around with many things.... taking classes after work on the 3 evenings I am not working at the studio... but then I forego seeing a friend or maybe getting my laundry done so I don't have to do it on the weekend. I've thought about waking up before 6am so I can go to morning classes before I get to the office... but then I inevitably lose some sleep. Or I just take classes on the weekend and get chores and errands done on my week nights off instead. Ahhhh! How do you guys balance? I have been focusing some of my workouts on my Glutes and Legs lately using weights since I hadn’t used weights in over 8 months for a reason. As I age I am making sure I take care of my body but more specifically those areas that will help keep me stronger and healthier in my elder years. Sadly the older we get if we don’t use our muscles or our brain those areas “die” or become weaker daily and continuously. . Below are the biggest reasons you should be training your legs if you aren't already. . •Boosts Metabolism •Great Glutes •Improves Athleticism •Your hips, butt and legs make up your lower body, the location of some of the largest and strongest muscles of the body. Your quadriceps, for example, are the four large muscles in the front of the thigh. These muscles extend your knee. Your calf -- two muscles located on the back of your lower leg -- bend your foot. Exercises such as squats, lunges, calf raises and leg presses can all help increase your lower body strength. •Lower body strength plays a key role in increasing your stamina. •Over time, strengthening the muscles of your lower body can also help you to burn more calories because muscles burn more calories than fat. •Muscle weaknesses can cause painful muscle knots. Strengthening your lower body will reduce your muscle pain. It can also help to improve your posture because it stabilizes your body. .
