But I am always amazed when I meet farmers like Maria Lourdes working under the sun with 4 employees tilling the soil and fertilizing her farm 10 months out of the year so she can produce a good #eggplant harvest. I have to give a shout out to @castlerockranch again! They butchered two steers today and have two more scheduled to be harvested in November. If youโ€™ve been watching any of my Instagram stories, youโ€™ll see Iโ€™ve been using our Castle Rock beef in our Instant Pot often. We just had amazing stew the other day, an IP yellow curry with beef, a few big roasts with veggies, and these IP spare ribs were fantastic and falling off the bone with tenderness. Beef always tastes a little more nutty and complex if you brown or roast it slightly first to develop the flavors but it is also delicious when we are in a pinch and throw it into the IP with some spices and red wine. I'm preparing snacks for a 7 day meditation retreat and these raw bars by @evohemp are the true life savers in my bag (thanks mom for introducing us.) Every flavor combo tastes great, has a generous amount of protein and my digestive system loves them back - they are free of dairy, soy and gluten. I found them at @wholefoods for under $2 per bar. Can I just take a moment to give a momentous and resounding digital pat on the back to one of our most unique and exceptional producers. @hodmedods have been pushing the boundaries of British farming for years now. A couple of years ago their pioneering British quinoa crops were as groundbreaking as they were delicious and are now a staple of our menu. They grow the broadest range of pulses including the fava beans that have gone in to our falafels and broad bean hummus for years now. We recently had a sample of their first experimental lentil crops drop through the door and can confidently and unequivocally say that they are the most delicious lentils for both flavour and texture I've tasted. They just won the Best Food Producer award at the #bbcfoodawards and they so so deserve it.
