I've posted the lift (upping our weights throughout), shared some of the hiit (quick cardio bursts), but rarely talked about the core component (quite literally brings you to the floor) involved daily. Today our trainer decided we didn't push hard enough so we got a bonus round, fancy name for time to empty the tank. Learning directly from the trainer in my test group has been a vital part of this program for me. And I learned today that in October a test group for EVERYONE is kicking off! Feeling so strong these past couple days and I LOVE IT!!! I feed off that feeling 🙃 one thing I can thank for that and that I’ve been really REALLY working on is my #mindmuscleconnection 🧠💪🏼 Most days I’m good👍🏼👍🏼 but some days I find myself not entirely present when I’m training, my mind is off in another dimension🌝 then next thing I know my workout’s over and I don’t feel like I got much out of it 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 which SUCKS. If there’s one pet peeve of mine, it’s wasting time. I know not every workout will be the best workout, but I also know that I have the power to make it the most effective as possible when my head is in the right place. - Mind→muscle connection is srsly everythinggg. It’s a skill in my opinion, and I’m not naturally good at it. Sooo I’ve been making a conscious effort in improving this for myself lately, S L O W W W ing down, controlling the weight, squeezing, and it’s been making a world 🌎 of difference. I’ve not once had a worthless workout when I make this the priority. - So! Ain’t no shame in my modifying game. Just because I’ve been doing workouts for awhile doesn’t mean I don’t have to slow it down a little every now and then. There’s always a way to #modify a move. Step it instead of jumping, slow it down and #focusonform and always go at your own pace! . Your workouts shouldn’t be painful. Day 10: Strength. 30 minutes of "what the he'll just happened?". Everything is shaking. I'm pressed for time this morning since I'm running someone to the airport. This took 30 minutes in my hotel room. I modified a few of the moves to use resistance bands, and I gotta go slo' on the plyo movements in order to maintain some semblance of form (otherwise it's a hawt, clumsy mess!). Flashback Friday ~~ So, funny story: when I was at the beach a few weeks ago, I decided not to post the picture on the right because of my “back fat” (That’s one area of my body I’ve always been self conscious about) . I came across the picture on the left today (from April 2017) and was amazed - I realized that was what I thought my back still looked like today. . It’s crazy how day by day, we don’t see the changes in our body. How can we? We see ourselves 24/7. But put two pictures next to each other & it makes a world of a difference! . Getting up this morning was a CHOICE✌🏻 and certainly wasn't something that I was excited to do. . This morning I wasn't motivated to workout. I wasn't full of energy or well rested.😴⠀ In fact, I woke up hoping I get to take a nap today 💓⠀ . But what I have learned along the way is that I can choose my attitude for the day. Even if it isn't going to be my most productive day, I can choose to be positive. I can choose to do the most important tasks and I can choose to schedule in some downtime and rest.⠀ . So today you get to CHOOSE what you do too! You get to choose whether you are going to face your fears and do something that you KNOW you should DO. Today you get to choose whether you are going to distance yourself from negativity and move closer to those that lift you up. Today you get to CHOOSE to put good quality food in your body! Today you get to choose to move your body even if it's just for 10 minutes. My friends, your life is a series of choices that are going to add up to bring you closer to your goals and dreams. . HAPPY FRIDAY! We made it 👏🏼👏🏼😩😭 • This week was just exhausting. But I am thankful to have made it to the other side; and thankful I completed everything I set out to do. We have so much to be thankful for in this world, so here I am choosing to acknowledge the positives of this week instead of dwelling in the struggles. I am thankful to have completed a full week of workouts. I am thankful I don’t have to come back to the gym until Sunday. I am thankful I didn’t give up during my run this morning.
