Ok now getting to the post I’ve been waiting for. To beat the Celtics or any other top teams in the east you need to play to their weaknesses, not to their strengths. Boston is an amazing perimeter defending team. Just look at the last game we played against them, they were all denying jj the ball on those dribble hand offs we always run. I don’t think Boston has a bad defender on their team. A lot of are struggles have to do with coaching. I explain this more on my first two posts on this page. But are offense is extremely predictable. We dribble hand off to jj or Joel is on the left block, jab steps and goes right to the basket. Like I said play to Boston’s weaknesses. They proven they can lock up jj. So we need to run pick and rolls with Tobias Harris and Joel or jimmy and Joel. Attack the basket, get them into foul trouble. It literally makes no sense to me how we run the fewest pick and rolls in the league when we have jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris. Another issue I have is there is one way to guard Joel and Al horford has mastered it. When Joel is getting position to post up, Al is being physical and pushes Joel up right next to the three point line. So when Joel catches the ball he’s basically starting his post up at the three point line making him tired easily. Brett needs to tell joel to be physical and get the inside position right in the circle so all he has to do is drop step and get an easy bucket. I also think we should use Ben Simmons on the defensive end to guard Al in the post when Joel is off the floor, then make ben post up the smaller guards and get him going offensively. Anyway those are a few things that we should focus on next time we play Boston.

Hold this fucking W. When Jimmy Butler was traded here, of course everyone was talking about jimmy. But with are lack of depth I was supper excited about getting Justin. I legit have been studying this dudes highlights at creighton , great shot blocker, and if you throw a lob in his area code he will catch it. Also has a decent jumper. I’m hoping he does well so he becomes a rotation peace and Brett doesn’t treat him like Richaun.

Pt.2 but are offense looks so awkward. I really can’t explain it, somethings off. Tobias has been really amazing for us, I’m not worried about him. The person I’m really worried about is Jimmy Butler. In the loss to Portland I believe Jimmy only took one shot in the second half. Correct me if I’m wrong. But he wasn’t really a factor. Jimmy’s game is being an iso, pick and roll guy, that’s his bread and butter. But we run the fewest pick and rolls in the league. Which is really confusing to me because we have J O E L E M B I I D. That’s why I think jimmy can look disconnected in the game at times. Our offense is very predictable too. I will continue this subject on a post coming out on why we can’t beat Boston. Thanks for reading tho🙏🏼

Let me start off this rant by saying Brett is probably one of the nicest coaches in the league and is a great guy. The amount of respect I have for him for keeping his hopes up during all the losing of the process is grand but I have to say this, Brett is not the coach for this team. Let’s start off last year in the playoffs, we just came off a big win against Miami and we were on the way to playing Boston in the semifinals, during this series I’ve never seen a player abused on the defensive end so much like jj was. We constantly let Marcus smart (who is an athletic, strong sg) post up jj and just attack the basket every time. Not only this but brad Stevens would set a pick to switch jj on someone like a Jaylen Brown or Jason Tatum and drive to get a free basket. This failure to recognize a defensive mismatch killed us in that series. Not to mention we did nothing to stop them. Double teaming and trapping Marcus smart when he’s posting up jj would have forced the ball out of his hands and he would’ve had to make a difficult pass. But Brett did nothing like this. Also a little side note here, last season Brett barley played Richaun Holmes. But whenever he did the man showed out. A particular game I remember was the game against Miami were we were down by 30 at halftime without Joel. I even think it was Marco’s first game with the sixers. Richaun was huge in that game, he was a great spark off the bench. But Brett still decided to play Amir Johnson (who currently isn’t even in the rotation) over him. But let’s go to the offseason. Probably the biggest offseason in nba history because Lebron was a free agent and philly was one of his top teams. We just came off the Brian Colangelo disaster and Brett was the substitute GM. Brett did not resign Marco or Ersan (we could really use both rn) he let Richaun walk to Phoenix for cash (Richaun is having a great year rn) and got Mike Muscala and Wilson Chandler😐 Brett thought they could be replacements for Marco and Ersan. (I understand Brett’s not a gm but he did a terrible job). Now let’s get to this season, we have Jimmy, Tobias, Ben, Joel and JJ. Probably the best starting lineup besides golden state. Next post pt.2
