Real talk Thursday. Let’s talk fitness industry for a minute. Don’t buy into all the glamour you see on social media, the photo shoots, the “perfect physiques”, the nutritious foods they only eat, and all these positive quotes that are just re-used over and over to make them sound so positive. One thing I strive to always do is be 100 percent me clearly I don’t post my entire life and I keep negative off here because we have enough negative in the world. But what you will see is the real me, no makeup, hat wearing, Rudolph nose because (cold season), tired eyes, the hustle, the grind and always working towards some goal. Typically you won’t see me posting about clients because this is their safe place where they come to reach goals not me using them to get more clients. I take what I do serious does this mean I don’t have fun with all my clients and our gym members of course not, but I do take their results and goals serious and give them the best training and knowledge I have. That means always learning, growing and sharing knowledge with others. All I’m trying to say is don’t let people sell you on the pictures, the hype or even pro statuses in names. Do your research, be proud of your own journey, remember it does take time and it’s not a race it’s a lifestyle. Improving dribbling and ball control ⚽️ . . I always wanted to improve my dribbling to improve my game. I like doing this drill because you go progressively. The only rule is that if you knock a cone down you have to do 10 push-ups. In the beginning you start dribbling slowly in the small circle and start going a little bit faster when you’re feeling comfortable you start picking up the pace. You do it for 5-10 minutes then progress to the bigger circle and do the exact same thing. The most important is to keep the right mindset because even slow progress is PROGRESS 👊🏻😤 . . #LBE #BBN #beginathletix at Montreal, Quebec

STIFF BACK? Due to 21st century sedentary lifestyles that generally have people moving a lot less and sitting a lot more, it doesn’t surprise me that so many people are brutally tight and in pain. The body is designed for movement. The spine in particular is there to be twisted, turned, pulled and pushed, yet most do absolutely none of this on a daily basis. Here’s a tasty one to help get you moving once again. In the video I’m working a thoracic CAR with @theleanscene_ using a foam roller and wall ball for added tension/feedback. This is a quality drill that focuses on getting the upper spine moving and playing ball. Do 3-5 sets of 5-8 reps both directions everyday and see if that tension starts to ease 👌 Key is to shut the lower half of the body down, allowing zero movement, except from the thoracic spine. Remember when individual body parts each do their own job, the body makes less compensations. When this is the case injury is much less likely. How often do you purposely move your spine? PB baby!!!!😁 So today I hit 180kgx5 for 2 sets on back squat after not really squatting in MONTHS! Then finished off with 140kgx20 reps😎 After that, I finished legs and did a 40 minute EMOM of assault runner, squats, assault bike and DB snatch 💪 Anyone else just have those sessions where they feel AMAZING?! I wonder if it was the @unbownd leggings that helped 👀 I did feel amazing doing my squats and my knees felt great. Sometimes when I go heavy, my knees can feel awful but today they felt GREAT! "My Doctor told me not to Squat" Once youve build a foundation in strength and range of motion... why cant you squat? In this case, we see that there is some deviation to the side of the screw fixated hip below parallel but apart from that, looks pretty smooth. You would do some right sided rehab into hip extension, abduction and external rotation prior to help improve his hip position. In the case his position worsens with reps, we would then deload and/or transition to someopen chain exercises focusing on stabilitt rather than pushing load through his range. Depending on what part of your body is affected, understanding that your quads and hamstrings work the hardest in the first half of the squat and your hips do most of the work from parallel and below, then you can load or deload an area depending on what your program is trying to achieve. So in this case, would he benefit from deeper squats? Absolutely, building his glute strength and power will be vital for his longevity.
