Laying low enjoying my rare day off today, procrastinating food prep, playing around with iMovie, and so happy I got a solid training session in yesterday. Thursdays are my barbell deadlift day, and I missed last week due to Thanksgiving. I’m thankful I got to do them yesterday and thankful they felt so good! I kept to 20 reps as suggested @cote.tyler 😉🤙💪🙏(asked my old coach for programming advice after a hinge-heavy kettlebell class the night before). I’m happy I listened to my body, kept weights and reps relatively low, didn’t push too hard, allowed proper recovery time in between sets, and really enjoyed the whole session, yay! Also, knowing I was a little tired from the night before, I built in small wins (ie- starting light enough to easily add weight each set on some exercises) to help me feel good about the progress within the session and avoid frustration and fatigue 😎🎉💪 ⭐️Warmed up with kettlebell arm bar with rotation, great for shoulder joint stability (hyper mobile me needs lots of this!), kb resisted leg lowers (not shown), and a new twist on the kb pullover that I got from @cote.tyler : tuck pelvis, bring it just off the ground, dig your heels in and up towards your body to get hamstrings working ⭐️Double kettlebell clean to squat to push press ⭐️Barbell deadlifts sets 1 & 2 warmup sets ⭐️BBDL sets 3 & 4, adding weight each set. Felt so awesome! ⭐️Dumbbell floor press, slowly getting better over the last couple of months of consistently working at it. Went up to a heavier weight PR for a few reps at the end but I’m not comfortably there yet ⭐️Rear foot elevated split-squat, straight leg sit-ups, and half kneeling x-pulldowns ⭐️Conditioning at the end: 1 TGU into 5 same-side kb snatches, switching sides roughly every two minutes (using @myzonemoves heart rate monitor to gauge recovery) ⭐️Finished with a heavier TGU that I had enjoyed doing the night before and just wanted to do another, and some lighter double kb swings and snatches.
