#tbthursday to last week on the Khwai River in Botswana... ...I’m always amazed at how acute hippos senses of hearing and sight are, even under water...while this is their safe-place they still maintain a vigilant lookout for what you might be up to on the shore / river bank nearby...and they generally tend to turn and face you as you move... • #hippopotamus #hippo #botswana #khwairiver #moremigamereserve #wildlifephotography #naturephotography #wildlife #nature #photooftheday #wildgeography #earthfocus #wildlifeaddicts #wildlife_seekers #safari #onsafari #africansafari #safariafrica #travel #travelafrica #wildlifeplanet #passionpassport #dowcoverearth #ig_wildlife #ig_africa at Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

The name "chimpanzee" is derived from the Bantu language Chiluba. The name "kivili-chimpenze" is the local name of the animal and can be translated as "sham-human" or "monkey". This name is first used for the year 1738. Pan, the scientific genus name, is derived from the goat-footed shepherd god Pan and goes back to older notions of apes as mythical creatures like hairy, tailed people #ape #chimpansee #world #africa #travelafrica #traveltheworld #traveller #travel_blogger #traveler #safari #selfdrive #gamedrive #animal #animalphotographie #natur #naturphotography #traveller #uganda #landscape #landscapephotography #fujifilm #fujicamera #fujiphotographer #xPro2

The equestrian monument was inaugurated on January 27, 1912 and is to commemorate the colonial wars of the German Empire against the Herero and Nama from 1903 to 1907 in German Southwest Africa. Getting Started in Namibia ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Located in the country’s central highlands, almost in the centre of Namibia, is its capital city: Windhoek. The Hosea Kutako International Airport will be your entry point when flying in and it’s a great base from which to start off your Namibian Adventure. Spend at least the first night in Windhoek and enjoy what this Awesome cosmopolitan city has to offer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Namibia was a German colony from 1884 to 1915. Known then as South West Africa, German was the only official language. South Africa took over administration of the country in 1915. Namibia gained independence on 21 March 1990. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Windhoek is the largest city in Namibia supporting a population of around 350,000 people. English is the official language. The local dialect, Oshiwambo is spoken by 50% of Namibians as a mother tongue, while 50% of the Namibian population speaks Afrikaans and German is widely used in the tourism and business communities. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The city offers a variety of accommodation options including; self-catering apartments, guest houses, country lodges and awesome hotels. The intimate luxury boutique hotel, The Olive Exclusive All-Suite Hotel, is superb. The décor, accommodation and cuisine are outstanding. The Hotel Heinitzburg is a restored castle with a unique architecture, set on top of a hill in Klein Windhoek with awesome views over the city. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Windhoek has such an interesting feel, a blend of cultures and cuisines which makes it so different to its neighbouring countries. There are a selection of excellent restaurants, beer halls, cafes and wine bars. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Namibia is one of the safest countries in Africa. It's also a huge country with a small population, and even the capital, Windhoek, is more like a provincial town than an urban metropolis. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For more information and assistance in planning your Namibian Holiday contact: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📧 [email protected] ☎️ 0208 004 9400 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ [email protected]

I took this on one of my favourite mornings in Ethiopia. I woke up at 4am and traveled by boat to this village where a community of the Dassanech tribe lived. While I was taking this girls picture she started laughing, when I turned to see what she was laughing at I saw a huge group of tribes people had also run to get their goats and were standing there expectantly waiting for their photo to be taken. . . . . . #travelphotography #photojournalism #1415mobilephotographers #nofilter #documentaryphotography #humanity_shots_ #bnw_planet_2018 #natgeo #gettyimages #londonphotographer #igtravel #nikon #natgeotravel #wonderlust #photooftheday #artoftheday #magnumphotos #lensculture #reportagespotlight #worldcaptures #passportready #NGTUK #dassanechtribe #billygoat #ethiopia #travelafrica #tribesofafrica #girlandhergoat
