Did you know that Americans consumed in 1776 around 4 lbs of sugar per person each year? Nowadays its around 130 lbs per year! Half of that is fructose. Sadly, the fructose intake is not from eating fruits but rather the fact that Americans are drinking the equivalent of 16 ounce soft drinks every day on average. That’s 50 gallons a year. Science often refers to sugar as empty kcal, meaning it contains no essential micro-nutrients. Like alcohol, fructose can increase the fat in the liver, thus increasing the risk for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. So its no wonder that the diagnosis of nonalcoholic fatty liver diseases are on the rise worldwide. The World Health Organisation suggest that we should eat just under 5% of our daily kcal from added sugars. How much added sugar do you consume? I personally reduced my daily added sugar intake to zero. How do I feel? I spent each meal today laying out by the pond in the sun accompanied by a choir of frogs🐸 ☀️ then explored out back to discover our kale is growing insane🌿 ! A no brainer to recreate my awesome pal @zaccharybird ‘s cheesy 🍄 & kale-chip pasta🍝 BUT HOLD UP, just 100g of this pasta (equivalent to a serve of chicken boobs🙄) has a whopping 43g of PLANT PROTEIN from edamame/mung beans ! That’s 50% more than eating a sentient being 🐥💛 #funfacts .. PLUS the soy and nooch = b12 , kale + mushies w/ 🍋 = absorbable iron ! And the list of micros goes on .... Plants mannnnnn✌🏼

Lentil, Chickpea and Vegetable Curry with Sweet Potato Wrap Chips and Spinach 😋 So the only thing I've cooked today was breakfast and I'm not complaining! Like lunch, I made this curry a couple of days ago and kind of made waaaaay too much than I intended to make but hey! I have heaps of leftovers for days like today where I'm super busy and too lazy to think about what I'm going to eat! This curry was so easy to make, I just sautéed some onion and garlic in a pan with a 1/2 a tbsp of a range of spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric, garam masala and sweet paprika, added in a bunch of vege, a tin of tomatoes, about a cup of water and let than simmer for about 15 minutes and then added in 100 grams of red lentils, let that simmer another 15 minutes and at the end I added in a tin of chickpeas. I had these sweet potato wraps in the freezer and so I thought I'd quickly fry it in a pan and it came out so crispy! I served it with some fresh spinach and then a dollop of tahini for some healthy fats. YUM! Also, can we quickly acknowledge the fact that it's bright enough outside in Sydney at 6:30-7pm to take a photo of my dinner!? Wooo to three uploads in a day! Neural Charge Workout ---------- Do you ever get into the gym, your body feels asleep, your mind feels foggy and you wonder where you’re going to get the energy to train from? ---------- Well I’ve got just the quick and simple solution for you! 👊 ---------- Firstly forget about the workout ahead, it’s too daunting right now so just focus on performing each of the reps in this workout as explosively as you can. ---------- The aim of this circuit is not to fatigue you but to energise you by agitating your central nervous system, so move slowly between each exercise but perform each rep explosively, after 3-5 rounds you should feel energised and ready to train. ---------- Here’s the 3 exercises: 1. Box Jumps x 3 - Explode and land softly with two feet onto the box. 2. Plyometric Press-ups x 3 (on box) - Lower your body until your chest touches the box then explode off the box, only as far as your straight arms take you, this will keep the reps fast. 3. Med Ball Slams x 3 - The key here is to go into triple extension (extending through three joints, ankles, knees and hips) and come down with explosive force back through those joints, using the whole body and not just the arms, no weedy arms only slams here please!! I know i just posted this pic but i was doing a comparison and shocked myself! So Pic on the left is 2016 i think... things were downhill emotionally and i was drained of life. Probably weighed about 100-105lbs... and im 5'6"😫, then slowly i started to take back control of my life and started little workouts at home, then progressed and my bestie @fit.crazy.red.super.biatch helped me with weightlifting for the first time ever. I then started crossfit at @workhardlivefit back in March this year, i believe to prepare for the Spartan Super. I have got to say that joining this gym and taking fitness to heart has changed my life. I now weigh around 130-135 lbs and feel so happy and strong! I want to push myself and really see what i am capable of. 3RM at 85lbs today on bench. I wish I could have gone heavier, but I will conquer bench one day! First time I felt like I didn’t pause enough on the bottom so I did it again, this time with wrist wraps and a belt.
