Justin and I did a little before photo shoot to track my progress after basic training and I was having so much fun I forgot to actually flex in this first pic lol! I’m so excited to get going and start basic training in a little less than a month. . My mom said she believed that the way I worked up to changing my diet and getting into a healthy lifestyle was God’s way of preparing me for my dream job, which I’m about to enter! I’m feeling the best I’ve ever felt in my body and I still have so far to go. . Feeling good after changing up my diet a week ago. . . I’ve gone with @probodymeals for 3 meals a day - their vegan options are the best I’ve tried by far. Porridge is for breakfast and protein shakes fill in the gaps- frozen spinach, chia, fruit, cashew milk and @vegateam_uk vega one protein. . . Ugh ok, I’ve NEVER shared the picture on the left before. EVER. Like, I think I was even hesitant to show it to @t_ferguson2191 on my own phone screen because I was so embarrassed by that mini gut coming out to say hi. 😳 And I know, I’m not wildly out of shape or even overweight in this picture; my body’s doing something great and athletic, but it was just NOT how I saw myself until a friend sent me this picture after a volleyball tournament last year. ••• I felt kind of “stuffed” or bloated pretty often, but I just thought that was from one big meal or having something sugary or salty with most meals and was just water weight. 🌎 to Alexa: NO IT WAS NOT. I wasn’t a full-time athlete anymore, but I kept eating like I was. ••• The picture on the right I snapped quickly this morning when I took a break from work and just realized how LIGHT I felt. 🦋 What’s crazy is I haven’t even been working out very hard the last couple weeks (back muscle RIP ☠️)! I’ve been drinking TONS of water, stuffing my face with veggies even more than usual (aka eating more), and still having stuff I love and will nnnnnnnNEVER give up like peanut butter, chocolate, avocado toast, and ice cream. One year vegan and it feels so good! I never dreamed a year ago but here we are! Super healthy ingredients- no sugar, grains, dairy, gluten or oil. Just cacao, tahini, coconut flour, maple and vanilla. This is my 12 week prep transformation. No pinches, no obsessing over the scales. Just hard work and a clear goal. Not only did I drop body fat percentage and tone up. But I feel like over the 12 weeks I definitely gained some good muscle 💪🏼🌱. Very happy with my 12 week prep and what I achieved. Comparing photos is the only way I like to measure how I am going. So remember girls the scales can not always tell you what you think you want to hear. ▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️ Over the 12weeks I lost only around 2kg!! Because I had built some muscle along the way. So don't panic if you don't see a massive number on the scales. If you feel good then that's enough measurement you should go by 🙏🏼💪🏼🌱. #transformation

JACKED on PLANTS 💪🏻 - 📈 Coming towards the end of 6 months since I started my transformation journey - 📉 3 weeks away in April and some injuries set me back a little but I’m stoked with my progress overall - 👍🏻Happy with my current weight so my next test is to enter a cutting phase and bring some of that hard work to the surface. My body fat is sitting at around 16/17% and I’m aiming to get that down towards 10% - ✳️ I’ll be introducing some short and sharp cardio (rowing) and changing my macros up. Reducing my fats and carbs and upping my protein intake. ‼️DON’T BE FOOLED BY CLEVER ADVERTISING‼️I found these bars on a shelf in Target that was specifically labeled “vegan.” There were some vegan products there. However, of these @ollynutrition bars only 2 flavors out of 5 were actually vegan-friendly. The other 3 contain dairy. Definitely not something I want to put in my body. 🙅🏻‍♀️ The bigger concern to me though, is that it would be SO EASY for someone with a serious allergy to be misled by this labeling. Olly describes it’s brand as “Plant Powered” & labels all of it’s products as “Plant-based.” So many children are diagnosed with food allergies now. I am shocked that a company would be so bold with their marketing as to take on a risk that could mean a parent accidentally poisoning their own child. ☠️ Even a discerning mother could make the mistake of reading the ingredients on one of the vegan-friendly boxes, deem it “safe” then based on that assessment grab another flavor (since they all say “plant-based” on the box) that happens to contain dairy & bring it home to her family. 🛑 I’ve already had a couple vegans tell me that they bought these bars not realizing all the ingredients. Apparently the guidelines for what a “plant-based” food is does not exclude items containing animal product. If you never knew that, don’t feel bad, I didn’t either. But companies definitely know that they can charge a higher premium by putting it on their products ❌ SO LOOK OUT! ❌ I did not create this page to be the vegan police, but in this case I believe the labeling is an endangerment to some people’s health. So please, no matter what a company claims on their packaging, protect yourself by reading the ingredient information before you buy. I love Target, but someone dropped the ball here & companies who market products for children (Olly makes plant-based smoothies specifically for kids) should be more responsible. #veganfamily #vegankids #dairyisnotplantbased

Why I stopped being Vegan after one month. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After jumping the gun & going vegan overnight, I was feeling great. I was a week in and I thought to myself "This shit is easy." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A week later I got sick & started to drop weight. I lost 5kgs/11lbs in one month. Most people would envy that result, but for a skinny dude like myself, it was a nightmare. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I had watched two films & it changed my whole outlook on life without considering the consequences. I hadn't prepared or done my research. I went in blind. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I couldn't wander off and get fast food as I did previously. There would be nights where I would skip dinner because I didn't know what to eat. I was sick of rice & beans, and as a result, it affected my health. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I stopped just after one month. I remember driving to KFC after work. I still felt like shit, but the weight eventually came back on. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I continued to eat meat, but something had changed I wanted to learn more. After loosing over 200 lbs over a decade ago I found myself at a measly 160 lbs with lots of extra skin, everywhere. Slowly but surely I put on muscle weight over the years and am sitting at around 215 at the moment. All the physical training is definitely tough, however it is much more difficult to change mental habits. I wake up and thank God every day he showed me how to turn my stubborn hard headed ass around. In the past I would’ve done horrible things to my body to get these kind of results in such a short time, but in the past month I’ve eaten more than I ever have before and only exercised a few times a week! What?! 💚🙏🏻🌱🙌🏻 Huge changes since committing to a vegan lifestyle: 1. INCREDIBLE energy 2. Physical transformation 3. Huge improvement in my mental well-being 4. My husband brought home some amazing pineapples that were on sale $0.99 so cheers to juice! Pineapple has amazing benefits including being able to stop a cough! It is amazing for your immune system, eye and bone health and reduces the risk of macular degeneration as people age do to its high levels of vitamin C and antioxidants. P. S. It is also an anti-inflammatory so if you're having joint pains, problems with rheumatoid arthritis, inflammation of any of your organs Etc this is a good juice for you! As always do your own research but don't be afraid to juice your pineapples! 🍍😘 The other drink that is on the left in this video is a jar of water that I have mixed in ginger I juiced which I found at my grocery store next to the turmeric and garlic etc, it also has cayenne pepper which helps your body speed up detoxification. Cayenne is good for weight loss, joint and nerve pain, inflammation, relieving migraine pain, reducing blood clots and it is considered an anti-irritant. Don’t get things twisted, you will need to have people in your life to support, guide, love, grow with, whatever the case may be through the various seasons of life. However, no one has power over you, unless you let them…whether that be what you think is positive or not. -- I got my newest ink almost (3) weeks ago and the words are powerful. If you learn only one thing about me, it is that I am a firm believer in the power of the words we use to define ourselves. Hence my first two tats are “I Can. I Will.” And this recent one says “Only I Own Me.” At the end of the day when it is all said and done, I controlled how my day went. I controlled it with my emotions (reactions) and actions. The same goes for all of us. -- I know it can be easy for us to single out one or two shitty things and justify why we are in a piss poor mood. But at the end of the day, our mood is a choice. A choice that we made and continue to make daily. -- Recently I have been experiencing several nay sayers coming from folks who “are relatively close to me.” Fortunately, I keep my circle small and I have more folks than not that get it because they are like minded individuals. Always remember Beautiful People, sometimes it is those who are the closest to you that will have the most “shit” to say. @swiftandfit ・・・ Why did I go vegan 🌱? Is a question I get often. I asked myself, "who decided that we must eat a certain way?" Why, even though we live in a more technologically advanced era are there still millions with chronic disease 💔? Do you think it's just by chance? It's more common for someone to be on medication 💊💊than not. In bodybuilding 🏋🏽‍♀️, athletes are constantly shoving whey protein, meat, eggs and other animal products to get bigger. There is an assumption that you can only get enough protein from eating meat. Trust me, I use to believe this too since I was an athlete 🏃🏾‍♀️ in college. But these same athletes are dying of heart attacks at early ages from their massive meat consumption, suffer from digestive problems and acne all because of diet. You don't need meat to build muscle 💪🏾! It is extremely harmful for the body to digest. I knew I couldn't continue to eat this certain way because I too use to have stomach aches, blemishes on my skin, random sicknesses and not feeling completely healthy. Fast forward to now. I don't remember the last time I was sick. I have built more muscle than I have ever been able to during my track athlete years, I can recover faster and I'm now stronger than ever. No medication for me and I only visit the doctor once every two years for a check up. This is a lifestyle filled with health, love for oneself, compassion for all beings and the environment.
