EGGcellent Casserole for EveryBODY This past weekend we had some friends over during the day for a little holiday gathering, so I had to whip together some kind of sustenance to serve them, preferably with flavor 😋 BUT because it’s me, and my house, it still had to be as HEALTHY AS POSSIBLE too, of course! And I think this egg casserole hit the mark pretty darned well since A. People ate it 👍🏼 B. I liked the flavor and chowin’ down on it (along with my wife who has quite discerning tastes). C. It’s been almost a week and no one who consumed it vomited or died 👍🏼👍🏼 (that I know if at least, and that’s what counts 😁) So enough talk, let’s get down to the brass tacks.... how you can construct this delectable dish yourself 👨🏻‍🍳! You need: 1. large casserole dish 2. 18-24 eggs (depending how thick you want it) 3. 1 package of breakfast sausage links 4. 1 small package of bacon 5. 1 small can of green chilis 6. 1 bag of shredded Mexican blend cheese 7. 3 T spicy Hispanic seasoning (I used chipotle), some Himalayan sea salt, and garlic powder 8. Taco or cholula sauce 9. 1/4 cup low carb milk if you want to add for a little more fluffiness Now cook the sausage and bacon seperately in the oven or on the stove (however you prefer) while combining the eggs, seasoning, chili’s, approx 1/2 the bag of cheese, and seasoning in a large bowl. Once the meats are about 3/4 of the way cooked slice em up into small pieces and add them into the bowl with everything else and stir it all up until it’s evenly dispersed, then pour into your large casserole dish. Cover the dish with foil and cook in the oven at 350 degrees for about 20-25 min or until it starts to solidify and puff up on top. Take it out, sprinkle the rest of your cheese on top and drizzle your hot sauce over top. Put back in the oven uncovered for about 5 minutes, then remove and let it cool about another 5 minutes, then slice and dice er’ and enjoy!! CLIENT GOALS: Be able to do push-ups with your trainer on your back👊🏼 — That really wasn’t a goal when Carolina came to me but getting stronger WAS and she has done just that💪🏼 — Carolina did NOT want to focus on losing scale weight (she doesn’t even own a scale) .. she just wanted to be stronger, feel good about her body and “look like a bad ass”….YES!!! Far too much of the time when someone suffers an injury they think “that’s it, NO MORE WORKING OUT.” (And I personally think they’re pretty happy to have the excuse, for that matter). BUT!!! This should very very rarely be the case! Pictured here is Dorian Yates, six time Mr.Olympia and one of the greatest bodybuilders in history, working nearly as hard as he was legendary for, shortly after tearing his tricep and consequently having surgery to repair it. This was in the nineties when he was competing (or just retired) and weighing close to three hundred pounds. And those pictures of the uber fit, healthy looking dude doing yoga and walking shelter dogs..... that’s him today. So he is still functioning pretty damned well and fit as ever in his late fifties, even after putting his body through a brutal pro bodybuilding career and continuing to exercise despite being “injured”!! If you hurt one of your extremities/limbs its only about 15% or so of your operational muscles or metabolic tissue that’s sidelined. LEAVING 85% OF YOUR BODY STILL WORKING FINE..... ie a ton of muscle to work and CALORIES TO BURN!! Afraid of creating a muscle or strength imbalance since you can only work one side of your body??? You can avoid that opposite arm or leg if your really that scared of this phenomenon, BUT studies have actually shown that strength that gained from working only one side of the body actually TRANSFERS TO THE INJURED SIDE AS WELL once you’re able to start using it again! Pretty nifty, heh? Or just skip your upper or lower body and focus on core the other half while you’re recovering if you don’t believe me. I see awesome people, just like you and I, at the gym everyday in casts, slings, wheelchairs, walking boots, etc, not letting any excuse stand in their way, as it should be! Hopefully next time life bites you in the ass and you suffer a physiological set back, you won’t let it turn into an excuse to stop working towards your bigger goals! Having a hard time mechanically doing a push up, because your lacking the strength? Focus on Negatives! Eccentric movement, with a slow tempo 3 to 4 seconds coming down. As you descend, focus on retracting your shoulder blades, this will allow the tension and stress to be placed on the chest, and allow the sternum to open. Complete 2-4 sets, 10 to 15 reps, its also important to have your chest touch the ground 1st, not your stomach or hips. How hard can I push myself. I was dragging ass all day but I made a promise to myself to put some work in today. It wasn't great but I knew if I didn't at least give what was left in my tank to my workout, I would regret it. Some work is better than no work. The grind isn't easy and as I have learned, there are things about other people's lives and situations I will never understand. Just like they won't understand mines. #FromThisWeekend.. 🔥 It wasn’t a win and it wasn’t a loss. I placed 3rd but my main focus going into this competition was, “How far can I push myself?” I’m an over-thinker and I did my to best to only concentrate on what needed to be done. Turns out that approach worked really well. 😎 . ➖ This community has made me feel like family since I showed up in April and it’s played a huge part in my growth as an athlete. . ➖ This was my third competition since I began CrossFit last year and they continue to keep me humbled and appreciative of this insanely intense but satisfying sport. Next year, I intend to dial in my focus and participate in more competitions. . ➖ Big thanks to everyone who made this happen and everyone who came out to make themselves suffer and those who came to watch it happen. 😄 at SinCity CrossFit

We have to be more aware of the repetitive movement patterns that cause us problem s. The 2 most common that give our neck/cervical spine problems is sitting for long periods with forward head posture and looking down at our cell phones with poor posture as well. We're putting so much unnecessary load on our spine and getting neck issues as the result of it. So if you're sitting remind yourself up to sit up straight and if you're using your cell phone bring it level to your face instead of looking downward at it #posture #alignment #awareness

This is why you need to train barefoot or with flat shoes(converse or skate shoes) or weightlifting shoes because your running shoes or other workout shoes could be throwing your knee, hip and spine out of line and then you are more prone to injury and if your alignment is bad there is no way you should progress to load. Also with daily life we should be barefoot or have a very flat shoe for the same reason. You can create injuries slow with repetitive movement patterns as well as the way we dress. You may not feel it now but in a few years it will take it's toll on your body #alignment #squats #deadlifts
