It was almost Koda in this photo and not Nanuk but Koda wasn’t having photo time this day and Nanuk was just loving the camera haha! Fun Fact: Koda, Nanuk, and myself were all born in this little town called Kitimat here in Northern British Columbia. Kitimat or Kitamaat - which is a First Nations Tsimshian (shim-shan) word that means “People of the Snow”. Back in February 2015 before Koda and Nanuk, Kitimat was buried in just over 3.5ft of snow in a 24 hour period and within 3 days we were buried in just over 5.5 ft of snow. It knocked out our power for 3 days, cancelled schools and work (something that never happens in Northern BC), and shut down all the roadways. The snow just would not stop falling for 3 days straight. At this time I was actually living even more remotely in Kitamaat Village which is a 15-20 minute drive outside of the town of Kitimat and our road was completely blocked from town. Even as our road crews were working around the clock they still couldn’t keep on top of the mountains of snow falling from the sky. I remember at one point we actually had a team from town that had to bring a supply run including medication all by snow mobile because vehicles couldn’t make it. Eventually, the road ways were cleared enough that we were able to evacuate to town where there were more resources. We all went in a big line up of cars and navigate around fallen trees and downed power lines. And in true Canadian fashion, once we made it into town our first stop was Tim Hortons. Arrow ➳ . . Meet Arrow! This little man is currently 5-weeks-old and one of 7 beautiful puppies from @lacey.inthewild 's recent litter .And I'm excited and honoured to announce that he will be coming home with us in a little under 4 weeks! . . We made a trip over to Vancouver to meet the puppies, Lacey, and their lovely human Camille earlier this week. Phoenix got to meet both Lacey and Arrow and let me tell you, he was smitten with the beautiful Lacey and very curious about little Arrow: I haven't seen him that playful and happy in a long time which made my heart very happy. And I know that wherever Griffin is, that I think he would approve of Arrow.

Thank you to our good friend @daniellesexton95 for capturing this serene moment of Koda and I just enjoying the sunrise I almost didn’t get any photos this day - zero, zilch, nada! I just threw my gear in my camera bag and completely forgot my battery that was on the charger... thankfully I had my dad’s camera and a fresh battery in the bag as well! It still would’ve been an amazing experience and would’ve been well worth it but it was definitely nicer knowing I hadn’t lugged a bunch of gear up the side of the mountain for nothing haha! My epiphany of the day: Today is not Friday. Tomorrow is not Friday. Even the day after tomorrow is not Friday. 🙃 . . This week hasn’t been all bad though, just rather uneventful.
