📍SIX WAYS TO EAT MORE FRUITS & VEGGIES📍 We all know it's important to eat fruits & veggies. ⠀ They’re vital for optimal health and even help fill your belly for fewer calories (which helps you stay more consistent with your diet) ⠀ But let's be honest... very few of us can effortlessly eat the recommended 5-6 servings of fruits & veggies each day 😱 ⠀ A lot of people think it's because they don't like eating fruits & vegetables, and that’s probably a big part of it. But I honestly believe it can be fixed with planning and preparation. ⠀ In fact, when you have strategies in place that make fruits & veggies convenient and tasty, you might be surprised to find how easy it can be to including (and enjoying) more fruits & veggies in your diet! ⠀ Here are six strategies in this post are all ones I use for myself and with my clients on a regular basis: - 1️⃣ Make 'em Convenient - you'll be a LOT more likely to eat the fruits & veggies in your house if they're pre-washed, pre-chopped, and ready to go - 2️⃣ Eat 'em To Start Your Day - you'll start with a "win," which will build momentum to continue eating fruits & veggies the rest of the day - 3️⃣ Eat 'em First During a Meal - start your dinner with a salad or piece of fruit - 4️⃣ Make 'em Your Snacks - I'm not a huge fan of snacking, but when I do snack, It's ALWAYS a piece of fruit or vegetable (usually paired with lean protein) - 5️⃣ Don't Fear 'em Frozen - No. Frozen fruit & veggies are not bad for you. They don't have significantly fewer nutrients either. If someone says they’re bad, you have my permission to smack them 👋 - 6️⃣ Add Flavor & Spice to 'em - don't be afraid to add sauce or seasoning to your veggies. It'll improve their taste, and you'll be more likely to eat ’em. Hi ihr Süssen❤ So, ich wage es tatsächlich und zeige mein erstes Vorher-Nachher Bild🙈 Rechts war letztes Jahr, 2Monate nach der Geburt. Ich hatte noch einen ziemlichen Bauch und fühlte mich mit über 100Kilo Kampfgewicht alles andere als wohl. Ja, ihr lest richtig, ich habe über 100Kilo gewogen!😓 Ende Schwangerschaft waren es fast 120Kilo. 10waren kurz nach der Geburt weg. Der Rest blieb ziemlich hartnäckig. Um jedes Gramm musste ich kämpfen. Aber jetzt, also seit Februar (Start mit WeightWatchers), läuft es richtig richtig gut! Ich wiege wieder weniger als 100Kilo und nähere mich meinem Startgewicht vor der Schwangerschaft💪 Dann ist mein Weg aber noch nicht zu Ende. Schon vor der SS hatte ich einige Kilos zuviel. Denen sage ich dann auch noch den Kampf an! Die Entscheidung, WW zu machen, war auf jeden Fall die Richtige! OKAY REAL QUICK‼️: before reading, know this: ⠀ If you are following a diet that restricts certain foods or food groups, and you ENJOY it, you keep doing you. There’s no “perfect” diet for everyone, and no one has to right to tell you what diet to follow. ⠀ Having said that, I do believe there is a better approach for most people... ⠀ You see, I’m not a fan of food restriction or "good" vs. "bad" labeling. More often than not, restriction & labeling just leads to a worse relationship with food ❌, more cravings 🍩😨, and a never-ending oscillation on the Yo-Yo Diet Ferris Wheel 🎡💩 ⠀ However, I'm not one to say, "eat whatever the heck you want and just control calories," either... That's why we have the 80/20 rule and 5 ZAGS across the week - oh, you don't need to take all 5 zags remember! ⠀ I like to hang out in the middle with an approach, I call “Restrained Dieting." ⠀ With restrained dieting, you're still focusing on controlling calories and eating a boatload of healthy foods (🍎🥕🍖🥗), but you’re still allowing for "fun" foods (🍦🍩🍫) in moderation. ⠀ A Restrained Dieter realizes that no food is inherently good, magic, bad, or evil ☠️. Instead, they recognize that some foods are more nutritious, some foods are less nutritious, and as long as they're eating “more nutritious” foods the majority of the time, then it's perfectly okay to enjoy those other "less nutritious" foods in moderation🍦👍 ⠀ I don’t know. Maybe I’m jacked up on a bit too much decaf coffee (probably 😬☕️)... ⠀ But(t🍑) to me, a Restrained Diet sounds waaaay healthier than some silly Netflix Documentary Diet that demonizes specific foods 🤷‍♂️ ——— Any questions about your food - your meal, your food prep then pleae drop them below: Keep Rcoking Only Forwards Neale

📍WHAT COUNTS AS PROGRESS?📍 [Let me know what measurements count most for you?] Earlier today, I was emailing back and forth with a client about the progress he’s made during our first month working together. Despite being fairly consistent, his weight didn’t change much. Maybe half a pound lost tops. Needless to say, he was a bit discouraged 👎... His bummed-out attitude was no surprise either, especially when you consider the weight loss culture as a whole. All you see is “lose 10 pounds in 10 days!” or “lose weight fast doing this diet!” And while it’s totes okay to use weight as a tool for monitoring progress, it’s not the only thing that matters... Once we started digging into the numbers a bit more, we discovered that he’d actually lost 6 total inches from his belly! What’s more, his strength in the gym had gone up! The b4 and after photos look crazy different, He sleeps 10x better now and openly says he's the fittest he's ever been! Simple... The scales don't tell the whole picture!!! :) There are heaps of things that count towards making progress. Body weight is one, but there are also things like: Measurements Progress Pictures How Clothes Fit Improved Workout Performance How You’re Feeling! (often overlooked) And many more... The Bottom Line ✅: stop putting so much of your attention on the scale. When it’s used right, it can be a useful tool, but it’s not everything. If your weight’s not changing, don’t automatically assume something is going wrong. Make sure you’re at least tracking and looking at the other 5 things in this graphic before deciding whether or not you need to make a change to your plan. I grew up being one person. All my feelings and my thoughts associated myself with this view of myself. I was fat. I wasn't pretty, clever, confident, happy, social. I was just fat. That was me. It was who I was. I tried to be different, I tried to break free. I tried skipping meals, eating only salad, eating only soup, limiting and restricting and ultimately failing. Couldn't do it. This is who I am then. I'm just fat. Then rather than fight it, I gave up and embraced it. Hid behind it. Ate 3 packets of jaffa cakes back to back. It became my internal excuse for everything and my friend in life. But... I hated it. I see it all the time now. The brain washing that goes on. Yesterday a friend who is trying to lose weight asked me - what are you eating for dinner? Pasta I replied. Pasta she moaned, how can you eat pasta??! I'm having soup!!! How can you eat pasta and be thin. Because you can! It's so dangerous, the misconceptions that are out there about healthy eating, food and weight. The belief that you have to restrict to lose, skip meals to lose, ban carbs to lose, not have treats or eat out. It's all not true. You can more food, eat in abundance, eat so that you are satisfied, you don't have to feel deprived and hungry. It is all possible. I want to tell the world. I also wish I had figured it out sooner. You can be like me, an emotional binge eater and find the way out. It is there for the taking. Put the work in, take as long as you need. Happy healthy you is the goal. Play the long game. And... never give up trying. @emmalucydickinson and I tried some online training ... turned out ok I think. Don’t take my word for it though . . I’m 31, I’m 5ft 8 and for the past 5-6 years I’ve weighed around 72kg (body fat percentage 30%+). I’ve always been very sporty - I regularly attend HIIT classes, I used to do a lot of CrossFit and about eight months ago I switched from CrossFit to Olympic weightlifting . . At the beginning of this year (January 2018) I decided to lose some weight, motivated by the idea of dropping a weight category to become a more competitive weightlifter so I asked my friend Sam to help me out. Sam taught me the importance of calories, consistency and balance. This morning (12 weeks later) I weighed 62.20kg and my body fat percentage is 19% . . The transformation has had a really positive impact on my life - I’m enjoying the process and everything I’m learning so I enrolled on the @macnutrition course and I’ll be an MNU Certified Nutritionist next year(!), my weightlifting is improving and I now enjoy food even more than I used to! I’ve also been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to work with @ph_nutrition to assist with producing weightlifting specific nutrition content! My body changes but my weight doesn’t seem to budge…” - My response is this situation most of the time is: “So your body is changing, you’re losing fat but you’re not losing weight? Why would you care about your weight when you’re losing fat?!” - But let’s dive a little deeper into it. What are the reasons you’re losing fat but not weight? - First, you probably gained some muscle mass because you started weight training seriously. If you’re gaining muscle mass, you’re going to gain some weight. Awesome weight!! Muscles!! - Water retention is a big one, eating more sodium and or more carbs in a day that usual will cause your body to hold on to water. But heck, who cares about water weight? I certainly don’t and you shouldn’t too!!!! - You ate later at night than usual. This means you’re getting a distorted view on the scale the next morning because there’s still food in your stomach. You shouldn’t care about that because it’s food. It’s not bodyfat. - And lastly, you might need to take a poopoo. Go take a shit and step on the scale again. Boom 1-2-3 lbs lost. Nobody cares about that weight. - Main take-away of this post: The scale is a good progress measurement tool, if you know how to use it. Unfortunately most people don’t know how to use it.
