No excuses. — What you’ll need. 4 medium organic pasture raised eggs 6 slices of ham ( I used Parma ham) 3 tbsp defrosted peas 30 grams feta cheese — What you’ll need to do. 1. Preheat oven to 200c 2. Using a stainless steel muffin tray lay the ham covering the base and sides. 3. Add the peas + feta. Bake for 5 mins in oven. 4. Whilst in oven. Whisk the eggs. 5. Remove tray. Add the eggs to the ham muffins. 6. Place back in oven and cook for another 10-12 minutes. 7. Remove and allow to cool. — Simple and effective meal. Brunch is forever my favorite meal out. I’m team savory, what about you? Today I made my own brunch complete with alllll the roasted vegetables. What’s on my plate: oven roasted brussels, zucchini, broccoli, onions and mushrooms. The veggies were simply seasoned with avocado oil and Italian seasoning. Topped with two pan fried eggs (one over easy & one over hard), cherry tomatoes, scallions and @kitehillfoods almond based plain yogurt.

What’s your favorite type of white fish? This is a fresh walleye fillet that I cooked in a skillet and once the fish cooked, I added freshly diced tomatoes, capers, olives, lemon juice, little bit of olive oil, pink salt and pepper, and added it on the fish. Simple #whole30 breakfast. It’s really good, we love this one. Super tasty. It’s a must try. Ingredients: -eggs 🥚 -hash browns 🥔 -bacon 🥓 (Make sure to use complaint bacon and hash browns) Fry the bacon, use the bacon grease to cook the hash browns (sprinkle some salt, pepper, and garlic powder on the hash browns), add 4 eggs, scramble everything together and crumble bacon on top of the mixture. I am gearing up to do my yearly @whole30. This quarantine has been hell on my eating habits. Bread and too much baking has put on 10 extra pounds. The problem when you hit menopause is that even walking and getting the exercise you need, doesn’t take the weight off. The @whole30 has always been a great experience for me. I feel 100% better on every level by the end of the month, and I usually don’t go back to bad eating habits for at least 6 to 8 months afterwards, LOL. if you haven’t checked out this eating program, you should. It’s not easy, and it takes a little bit of adjustment. I usually try to prepare about a month in advance to get rid of the stuff out of my house that will tempt me when the last thing I need is temptation. One question I get asked a lot is “are low calorie diets hurting my metabolism?”⠀ -⠀ Great post by @thobrandt⠀ -⠀ And while that can be true in some cases, it’s more the fact that low calorie diets (“crash diets”) lead to binging. And because they’re so extreme, they often fail due to the unrealistic expectations. Metabolic adaptation is definitely real, but in most cases the reason you’re not losing weight on a really low calorie diet is because you’re following an unsustainable plan that leads to binging, not that your metabolism all of a sudden stopped working.⠀ -⠀ So when it comes to weight loss, you have to set yourself up for success by not going into such a big deficit because you are only human. It’s important to set goals that are attainable & sustainable.⠀ -⠀ So, Here’s the takeaway 👉 It’s not necessarily that low calorie diets don’t work, it’s that going into too big of a deficit is unsustainable (& also has negative impacts on your health). So it makes much more sense to be in that moderate deficit where u can still enjoy your diet & live an awesome lifestyle while making progress, & have energy in the gym and build/sustain muscle mass. sustainability=progress, always. Whole30 Compliant+ Paleo Tortilla Española! This is one the best things to come out of my kitchen. Tortilla Española has been around for a long time and this is my first time making it, who knows why because eggs and potatoes are two of my favorite things. 🤷🏻‍♀️I’ve been missing out. Made with: - farm eggs - Yukon gold and purple potatoes - spring onions (not scallions, though!) - cilantro - salt and pepper - Olive oil for cooking, would also use avocado oil I’ll share the recipe after it’s been tested a few times 😋

🌶 Spicy Arrabiata with Green Olives & Pan Seared Chicken on a bed of Zucchini Noodles 🍝 I forgot how delicious zoodles are! Managed to make them a bit al dente this time and I really loved the tiny crunch the zucchini’s still had. I made my Arrabiata, a spicy tomato sauce, threw in some pitted green olives and pan seared pieces of chicken breast. Paired it with a refreshing cabbage salad dressed with a light vinaigrette. Summer is here and we are glowing! 💫

MATCHA LATTE I’ve been getting a lot of questions about how I make my matcha latte since my “matcha vs. coffee” post a few weeks ago. It’s SO easy and honestly my favorite way to start each morning - i’m drinking one right now as I write this post 🍵 I make mine with homemade coconut milk and it turns out SO smooth and creamy! Sometimes I add a scoop of collagen powder for a little boost of protein. I usually fast until around 11am, but I have this latte before then. It seems like every time I feel like I’m finally okay, I end up having a complete meltdown. Can anyone relate? This is one of my easiest go to breakfasts when I make the time to cook breakfast (or sometimes dinner😊) Anyone who knows me knows I don’t like complicated recipes very often and I’m all for quick easy and minimal ingredients. Grilled Chili Lime Chicken Fajita Salad . INGREDIENTS Marinade/Dressing: 3 tablespoons olive oil 100 ml (just over 1/3 cup) freshly squeezed lime juice 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped 2 cloves garlic, crushed 1 teaspoon brown sugar 3/4 teaspoon red chili flakes, (or red pepper flakes -- adjust to your preference of spice) 1/2 teaspoon ground Cumin 1 teaspoon salt Salad: 4 chicken thigh fillets, skin removed (no bone) 1/2 yellow bell pepper, deseeded and sliced 1/2 red bell pepper, deseeded and sliced 1/2 an onion, sliced 5 cups Romaine, (or cos) lettuce leaves, washed and dried 2 avocados, sliced Extra cilantro leaves to garnish Sour cream, (optional) to serve INSTRUCTIONS Whisk marinade ingredients together to combine. Pour half the marinade into a shallow dish to marinade the chicken fillets for two hours if time allows. Refrigerate the reserved untouched marinade to use as a dressing. Heat about one teaspoon of oil in a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat and grill chicken fillets on each side until golden, crispy and cooked through. (Grill in batches to prevent excess water being released.) Once chicken is cooked, set aside and allow to rest. Wipe pan over with paper towel; drizzle with another teaspoon of oil and fry pepper and onion strips until cooked to your liking. Slice chicken into strips and prepare salad with leaves, avocado slices, peppers, onion strips and chicken. Vietnamese Spring Rolls⁠ ⁠ If you're not typically a salad person (as my kids weren't growing up) this is the way to eat a salad without realizing you're eating a salad. ⁠ ⁠ Depending on who you're talking to these could be called summer rolls. In any case, they are rolled in softened rice paper wrappers (or collard greens/butter lettuce option for Paleo and Whole30), these rolls are filled with fresh herbs, lettuce, carrots, cucumber and optional chicken or shrimp. ⁠ ⁠ The very flexible "recipe" (more of a method with lots of options) is up on the blog - link in bio. ⁠ ⁠ The peanut sauce for dipping is BOMB! If you are Paleo or Whole30, simply sub any nut butter for peanut butter. For a Whole30 sweetener to sub for maple syrup, use date paste and a little water. Found one more easy recipe ..tasty and health wise also good.Garlic prawns with quinoa brown rice ..all u need is Ingredients:: 1) prawns-1 packet(14/15 pieces) 2) salt and pepper 3) garlic -3 cloves(minced) 4) olive oil-1 tsp Coat the prawns with salt and pepper and keep aside. Heat oil in pan(high flame).Lower the flame,add garlic and prawns and cook till it’s pink in color and well cooked.Rwmove from pan - On the very same pan,now add quinoa -brown rice (take 1/2 bowl quinoa seeds and 1/2 bowl brown rice ) & vegetable broth 1 cup.Cover it with lid and cook it well. -serve hot.Enjoy!!! PLANTAIN TIKKI (PLANTAIN CUTLET) I wanted to have plantain tikki as a snack but it was so filling that it ended up being my dinner. I teamed it with a paprika tahini, but it can go great with other dips as well specially green chutney or pickles. My recommendation - pick something spicy to balance out the neutral flavor of the plantains. INGREDIENTS: Raw Plantain - 2 large (Makes 8) Ginger - Grated (1/2 tsp) Salt - 1 tsp Chilli flakes - As required Green chillies - 2 chopped Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp Peanut - 1/2 cup crushed (Can be replaced with walnut/ sesame powder) Cooking Oil - For pan frying PROCESS: - Cut plantains into half and boil until it becomes soft (20-25 mins) or pressure cook for 2 whistles - Remove the skin and put it in a mixing bowl - Mash the plantains using a masher or a large spoon - Add salt, cumin powder, grated ginger, chilli flakes and chopped green chillies - Roast the peanuts and grind the roasted peanuts into a fine powder - Add the roasted peanuts into the mix keeping aside a small amount to be used for coating - Mash all the contents in the bowl enough to remove any lumps - Take small portions of the mix and flatten to a cutlet - Coat each lightly with peanut powder on both sides - Drizzle oil on a pan and once the oil is heated add the cutlets - Heat on both sides until they turn light brown - Serve it with any dip/ mayo/ ketchup or pickle #plantain #food #realfood #justeatrealfood #veganfood #vegansnacks #paleodiet #paleorecipes #paleosnacks #whole30recipes #whole30 #ndtvfood #foodiesofinstagram #foodiesofindia #wahhindia #thepristinepantry @whole30 @whole30recipes @ndtv_food
