For me, focusing on quality over quantity is very effective. • I don't worry too much about the amount I eat, because when I focus on beautiful wholefoods and minimise processed sugars - it naturally regulates my appetite and satiety signals and I don't need to track 🤷‍♀️ • On the flip side, if processed foods sneak in - I feel like my control systems get hijacked and it's all over rover! I go from being "relaxed around food" to "get outta my way, we hangry" 😂🙈 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A healthy body is VERY good at sending you messages! Several sites recommended Gelateria Alaska as some of the best Gelato in Italy for its light, fluffy gelato with interesting seasonal flavors like rose water and avocado. My Sunday madness: a big gym session + meal prepping. A lazy "half-and-half" salad to use up the leftovers from earlier this week. The cooked half: lean chicken breast, mushrooms, carrots and tofu on a pan in the oven. I used salt, pepper and Cajun spices sprinkled around the pan. The raw half: lettuce, cucumber and avocado. I use the juices that are released in the pan in place of salad dressing - saves quite a bit of extra calories! Meet my favorite comforting pumpkin/squash soup recipe, made by mom ❤️ It’s super creamy, healthy and comforting! It’s lightly spiced, but the squash flavor really shines through. It’s super easy to make and the leftovers taste even better the next day. So, you could definitely make the soup for meal prep! Please let me know how this recipe turns out for you if you do try it! 🙏🏼 Creamy Roasted Pumpkin Soup INGREDIENTS • 800g pumpkin/squash purée • 1 large diced • garlic cloves, pressed or minced • ½ teaspoon sea salt • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon •. 1/2 teaspoon curry powder • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg • pinch ground cloves • Tiny dash of cayenne pepper (optional, if you like spice) • Ground black pepper • 3 cups vegetable stock/broth • 2 tablespoons maple/date syrup (optional) INSTRUCTIONS •Heat a splash of water in a pot over medium heat. Once simmering, add onion, garlic and salt to the skillet. Stir to combine. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onion is translucent. •Add the pumpkin purée , cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, cayenne pepper, and a few twists of freshly ground black pepper. Pour in the broth. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes, to give the flavors time to meld. •Once the pumpkin mixture is done cooking, stir in the maple syrup, if using. Remove the soup from heat and let it cool slightly. You can use an immersion blender to blend this soup in the pot, or transfer to a blender. •Let the leftover soup cool completely before transferring it to a proper storage container and refrigerating it for up to 4 days (leftovers taste even better the next day!). Or, freeze this soup for up to 3 months. NOTES Use coconut milk, to make the soup creamy. CHANGE IT UP: Sweet potatoes work great too, or a mixture of both!

Yin Yang Power Breakfast by @mellissalaycy ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ingredients. •60g Chia seeds •10g Vanilla @nuzest •10g Chocolate @nuzest •180ml Coconut milk •150ml water •5g Cacao powder ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Method. 1. Divide your chia seeds in half and add to two separate bowls. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2. Add half the milk and half the water to each. 3. In bowl (A) add your chocolate protein powder and cacao then combine thouraghly. In bowl (B) add your vanilla protein powder and combine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4. Leave for 10-15 until the chia seeds have expanded. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 5. Daffodils just outside my front door, they bloomed on the first day of Spring💛🌼 . I think it’s safe to say the worst of the antidepressant/benzo post withdrawal symptoms are over. In hindsight, it was probably not a good time to withdrawal everything over the Fall/Winter #whatwasithinking 😑😂 But I don’t think there is ever a ‘good time’ to do these things; it was the probably best time, considering other circumstances. And unfortunately, the shittiest moments are what makes you find better ways to cope in the end. _ It’s still hard, but I’m learning to accept a lot of that stupid chatter in my head (a really great book: The Happiness Trap by Russ Harris) For me, exercise helps the most. Probably because I’ve always been active. It’s never easy getting up to go do it! But I always feel better after a good neurotransmitter / endorphin boost. It doesn’t last forever but it’s the only thing that gets me out of the dungeon feeling sometimes. _ And nutrition. If you can’t exercise, at least feed your body good. Everything works better when you eat better and keeping hydrated. As in more whole foods. Veggies and fruit. Do not underestimate the power of living energy. _ I was recently reminded by a good friend that I forget I have the skills & apparently underestimate how well I’m doing considering I was on the pills for 25 yrs...2️⃣5️⃣🙄 I can’t say I’ll never go back on them, because they do serve a purpose. Today we had a big lunch get together with family and friends. Normally I make sure I cook and bake foods for Noah and Ruby to substitute things like cake or whatnot that I know will be served. ⁣ ⁣ Well today I didn’t have to! My beautiful godmother (yep she strikes again 💕) baked the most delicious pistachio and rose petal cake with cardamom and other yummy flavours. It was GF, DF, refined sugar free, yet loved by all. And so appreciated by me. And Noah LOVED it and felt so excited someone had baked a cake he could eat. ⁣ ⁣ #littleactsoflove #feelingsolucky

Ma quando mi viene chiesto se conteggio la verdura, ecco che due domande mi sorgono. . . Prendiamo per esempio una zucca 🎃, verdura che contiene un numero maggiore di carbo rispetto ad altre. Scorrendo nell’applicazione per i macros vi accorgerete che i numeri variano tantissimo, perché una zucca non varia solo in base al peso, ma livello di maturazione, genere, quantità di zuccheri e via dicendo (correggetemi se sbaglio). Il valore che vedete è puramente approssimativo; quindi, se già conteggiare è una pratica approssimativa di per sè, pensate QUESTO tipo di conteggio. Detto ciò, MENO menate. Io lo so che non è facile come la butta ora, ci sono passata, ma proprio per questo vi dico che dovete cambiare mindset, non ne uscirete più altrimenti. Allenatevi ad usare la pancia piuttosto che i numeri, educate voi stessi a mangiare. Conteggiare i macros deve essere un processo, non fatevi schiavizzare. . . By @earthlingsasha Wholesome vegan Lemon + Chia Seed Bread ft @suncorefoods white chia seeds! 🍋 If you’re like me, and love anything lemon-y, this is a killer recipe! It’s oil free and super simple! ❤️I’ve dropped the recipe below :) _________________________________________ Lemon + Chia Seed Bread Ingredients 230g wholemeal (or plain) flour (approx 2 cups) 2 tbsp white chia seeds @suncorefoods 1 cup coconut sugar 1 tsp salt 2 tsp baking powder Zest of 2 medium lemons 3 tbsp lemon juice 200g mashed banana 1/4 cup plant milk 1 drop lemon essential oil (optional) Method 1- Begin by preheating the oven to 180C. Lightly oil your loaf tin and flour, set aside 2- Add your flour, chia seeds, coconut sugar, salt and baking powder into one bowl and mix. Add the mashed banana, milk and lemon juice in another and mix together. Combine the wet and the dry, mix until just combined and fold through the lemon zest. 3- Pour batter into the loaf tin and place in oven for 35 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Let cool for 15 minutes before carefully removing from tin and letting cool for an extra 10 minutes before serving! I like to glaze some maple syrup straight from the oven for a shiny and extra touch! Enjoy! * sponsored
