A few weeks ago, Mike came to me and said he wanted to start taking wakeboarding more seriously! I listened, took note, thought about it. And then said, well, if that's what you want, I'M IN! LET'S GO ALL IN! 🏄‍♂️ . . First step is. S U P P O R T . Ladies. NOT, 'what are we going to do about bills and the kids...' just a rock solid Hell Yeah, I'm in!! So first, he gained my honest SUPPORT! Then, I slipped it in...😂🤭 ( #thatswhatshesaid ) . . "Well... if you want to START serious wakeboarding at 36... you're going to have to be legit, so on point with nutrition, your health and training! (THERE IT WAS LADIES.... if YOU want to be good at WAKEBOARDING, YOU will need to be HEALTHY!) #sucker #gothim . . Mike has been on and off with staying on track over the years, (and I have a ton of women ask me all the time how to get their SPOUSES onboard) but I think we finally found a good WHY POWER for him! Something that will keep him on point even when it's hard! And since that moment, our food has shifted to a purpose, rather than just mindlessly eating! Because NOW his perspective on eating healthy is for wakeboarding... NOT because Jennie whined until he did it... big changes are coming along with this and I'm super open to all of it!😍 . . Can we talk for a second? Are overwhelmed, discouraged, angry or defeated? I want you to know that I’ve felt that, there are still days I feel that because we are only human. I was reminded of how far I have come in these past 5 years, I was reminded that just because there are days I feel defeated I never truly will be because I have felt defeated before and found the strength in me to conquer whatever it was. I have seen my personal growth, and I am living proof every single day that my mindset has grown drastically simply by putting into perspective my own worth. I have climbed mountains steeper than I care to share and I have also defeated an inner battle so dark that i almost took my own life. Today I am reminded that my mind is in control, the way I react, the way I choose to respond is going to determine what knocks me down. I have come so far and I am proud of where I am despite the struggles I face. Today I was blowing the leaves and there were frustrating times I would blow the leaves and the wind would blow them back at me and as I thought for a minute such as life and I laughed to myself... life has this funny way of letting you get ahead and pushing you back a couple of steps... but what I have realized is every time I get pushed back it’s because I wasn’t finished with my lesson that was being taught... and until you complete open your mind, and finish the lesson you were meant to learn you will be brought back a few steps Take every struggle in your life as a lesson, take every happy moment as something to be grateful for and proud of. The only impossible journey is the one you never take. In other words my beautiful friends, you will never get any place different than where you are, unless you dare to go a different route. . — I just passed 2 1/2 years on this wellness journey. It has been far from perfect. It has never been easy. But it’s never been about doing it with ease or in anyway that was perfect. It’s been about testing, tracking, counting, adjusting, and then rising. . — I absolutely have no regrets. My past is done and can not be changed. Do I wish I could of thought about my health sooner....oh absolutely! . — I make no excuses in the present. No one else is responsible or will make the correct choices for me. That means there are no limits. I decide where I want to go next. Where I want to be most. And the choices I make will either help me towards my goals or move me away. . — It is that simple. Since the very beginning of my journey, I have committed to do my very best. Some days my best is fantastic and other days it is just okay. . — I am human. But no matter what, I do not quit. Why do I do this? Eat healthy, exercise, read personal development. . — Here is the why: do you see the glow, the smile, the happiness, the contentment? The joy in my eyes? You guys...I feel so good when I’m living a healthy life. I feel so much better when I’m reading personal development books or listening to podcasts. I actually feel amazing after a tough workout. I feel healthy when I fuel my body properly. And I feel so grateful that I have the chance to pay it forward to other women who then also have the same feelings. . — Is my life perfect? Haha far from it. And no my diet isn’t perfect either. You see I’m approaching 40 and I am human, but my life is perfect just for me. Keep in mind that I have done a lot of work to get here. I haven’t always been this way. . — I wasn’t always this healthy, and to be honest I still feel like I have a long way to go. But had I not started, I wouldn’t be where I am now. . — I am a perfectionist & a people pleaser. For so long I was trying to live in this image of what perfect looked like because it’s what society said. Because of that my self-esteem tanked and a whole lot of unhappiness was the result. . — Being the personality type I am, I absolutely hate asking for help. Something I’m still working on. It’s okay to ask for help. That’s what we are here for. . — But when it came to my health I didn’t do a lot. Never had any drive to start anywhere. I never saw any reason to begin. I thought I was fine. . — One thing I’ve learned is you have to have the courage to ask for help. That moment you take the step toward something your just so unsure of, little seeds of courage start to sprout. . — That voice that’s whispering on the inside telling you to take the first step. You should listen. Always listen to your gut! Most generally it will never steer you in the wrong direction. . — I’m so grateful to that girl who helped me step out of my comfort zone and grow some courage. To avoid emotional eating you have to retrain your mind. . *️⃣ If you’re depressed or lonely, call someone who always makes you feel better, play with your dog or cat, or look at a favorite photo or cherished memento. *️⃣If you’re anxious, expend your nervous energy by dancing to your favorite song, squeezing a stress ball, or taking a brisk walk. *️⃣If you’re exhausted, treat yourself with a hot cup of tea, take a bath, light some scented candles, or wrap yourself in a warm blanket. *️⃣If you’re bored, read a good book, explore the outdoors, or turn to an activity you enjoy (workout, crafts, scrapbooking, etc.). . — Emotional eating tends to be automatic & virtually mindless. Before you even realize what you’re doing, you’ve reached for a tub of ice cream & polished off half of it. But if you can take a moment to pause & reflect when you’re hit with a craving, you give yourself the opportunity to make a different decision. Ask yourself can you put off eating for five minutes? Don’t tell yourself you can’t give in to the craving; remember, the forbidden is extremely tempting. Just tell yourself to wait. . — When you eat to feed your feelings, you tend to do so quickly, mindlessly consuming food on autopilot. You eat so fast you miss out on the different tastes and textures of your food, as well as your body’s cues that you’re full & no longer hungry. But by slowing down & savoring every bite, you’ll not only enjoy your food more but you’ll also be less likely to overeat. . — Slowing down & savoring your food is an important aspect of mindful eating, the opposite of mindless, emotional eating. Try taking a few deep breaths before starting your food, drinking 8oz of water, putting your utensils down between bites, & really focusing on the experience of eating. How does each mouthful taste? How does it make your body feel? By slowing down in this way, you’ll find you appreciate each bite of food much more. You can even indulge in your favorite foods & feel full on much less. It takes time for the body’s fullness signal to reach your brain, so taking a few moments to consider how you feel after each bite—hungry or satiated—can help you avoid overeating.

Rebuilding mind + body + spirit is a slow, monotonous, hard-working, gut-wrenching, transformative battle. . — But it is no ones battle but your own. And you are either steering it towards what you want most or you are steering into un-fathomless depths driven by desires or fears of the moment. . — Losing weight naturally was not easy. Pushing play when I just wanted to sit on the couch. Talking myself out of binges, disappointments, set-backs and I quits. No it is not easy. But I am worth the work. We are worth it!! . — Do not lose sight of what’s ahead. Keep your eyes on the goal. What you want most. That’s where the sweet spot is. . — Buckle up! Lately I’ve been really busy with a course project, which is why I’ve been posting less than I’d like to. After a full day of thinking and writing, there’s not much energy left to create an orignal post... . To make these long days behind my laptop bearable, I try to go outside once a day. Sometimes I bike to town to run an errand or go home to prepare lunch, and sometimes I take a walk around the university campus, which is where I took this picture. . Even though the project I’m working on is very interesting, I will be glad once it’s over. I don’t like putting so much of my time & energy in studies/work, because there’s many other (more) important aspects of life that also need a fair share of attention! At the moment I’m spending about 32 hours/week on studying/working, which I realise is not even a normal full-time workweek but it’s more than enough for me 😅 . . My philosophy when it comes to working hours is that once I’m no longer a student, I would like to work the amount of hours I need in order to sustain myself financially - which will hopefully not be a lot since I live a simple life! . There is going to be that fear of the unknown; how will you change psychologically and emotionally, and how will your world around you change? . — Ultimately, if you really want to change your life, you must take a leap of faith. A great philosopher once said, "You do or you do not. There is no try." . — The leap of faith begins with the conviction that you don't want to go down the path that your current life has been taking you any longer, that your life just isn’t working for you any longer. The leap of faith continues with, well, faith, that you can change your life. The leap of faith involves having a basic belief in yourself and a fundamental trust in the vision of who, what, and where you want to be in the future. The leap of faith involves the belief that good things will happen when you choose to change your life. Recognize also that some misgivings are a normal part of the process—you can never be 100 percent sure that things will work out the way you want—if you didn't have doubts, it wouldn't require a leap of faith. . — What part of your life would you like to change? Why do we treat our health as an inconvenience? Why do we make time for Netflix, Hulu, or at least 30 mins of scrolling through our phones everyday? But say we don’t have time for a quick workout. Why do we swipe our card a couple times a week to buy a meal at McDonald’s, but we can’t afford to get stuck in a fitness program with nutrition support? . — Convenience. It’s easier & more convenient to sit on the couch and binge watch your favorite shows, than it is to work up a sweat working on your health. It’s easier & more convenient to spend money on fast food, than working on our nutrition. . — It’s the truth! A hard one. But our health is the most important thing we have. Without it, we have nothing else. So why, so often, do we treat it like an option? . — 67% of Americans will die from chronic disease (cancer, diabetes, stroke, heart disease). So many people are fed up & at the end of their rope when it comes to their health. Yet they tell me they don’t have the funds to get started. But they have the best clothes or newest fashions. Ok so it’s just not a priority for you at this point. I get it!! . — Some days I would rather sit on the couch & eat junk food. But there are 3 important lessons that I’ve learned: 1️⃣ You can’t really argue with 30 mins a day to workout. 2️⃣ I am stronger than all my excuses. 3️⃣ I don’t have to do it alone! . — This is a harsh wake up call. It’s not always going to be rainbows & butterflies. I’m here to tell you what you don’t want to hear. Then I’m going to help you make it better! It’s going to take daily hard work. But you can do hard things!!! . — So when your done reading my posts, watching my stories, ignoring my messages & you are ready to start. I’ll be here for you. Because I’m so very grateful everyday that a random girl reached out to me 2 years ago to help me get control of my health after years of yo-yo dieting. I have heard close to every excuse. . — One person’s excuse is someone else’s reason! 🔥 . — “I’m too busy taking care of the kids, going to school, working long hours.” . — That’s why she gets her workout in. That’s why she is building a second income stream. . — “I can’t afford it. I live paycheck to paycheck, have credit card debt, or student loans.” . — She was sick and tired of that life so she made a choice to do something different. . — There is never going to be a perfect time to grow. There will always be something standing in the way. All this time you kept thinking it was your family, your financial situation, but it’s not. It’s your mind. . — Excuses or execution? Only one will give you results. I was a pro at justifying all those excuses and only ended up hurting myself. It’s not easy to start and it is definitely not easy to make a daily routine to make a lifestyle change. Excuses are dream killers. Once you realize that, your life is going to change! I guarantee it. ❤️ . — Don’t talk yourself out of it, talk yourself into it. If I was concerned I wouldn’t be getting any exercise today I needn’t have been! I had a 10 minute walk from the train station to where I’m staying in Sydney which sounded fine.....until I realised it was mostly uphill and I was lugging 40kg of luggage!!! Phewee!!! Sunday is normally my rest day but I am definitely counting today as a workout day! Every little bit of incidental exercise counts people! 😬😬💪💪💖💖
