Thinking about how last Sunday, I was trying to get work done, pack for the week, and prepare for a busy week ahead. Little did I know what was to come -- three incredible days recognizing the work that is done tirelessly and, very often, unacknowledged. It's always unbelievable when you think back and say just a week ago, on Monday, I was sitting at the @21club meeting other inspiring women who also do this hard work, and you're finally surrounded by people who get the blood, sweat, and many, many tears you put into this work. Learning with @carasantana, @agapisees and others at @iheartradio on Tuesday so we can keep growing from this incredible platform @lorealmakeup provided us. Finally, the big event on Wednesday, where the simply beautiful @helenmirren presented me with my #WomenofWorth award and the room full of people with great power and influence, including @violadavis, @camila_cabello , @ajanaomi_king, @andiemacdowell, @ariannahuff , Doctor Oz and more stood up to recognize each of our work to better the communities around us. We all do this work because it needs to be done. I'm honored, humbled, and grateful that @lorealmakeup has used its spotlight to shine a light on such important work. Thank you, Karen T. Fondu, Ali Goldstein, and the whole L'Oreal Paris and @pointsoflight team for this wonderful experience because we're worth it! Special shout out to my incredible friends for coming and supporting, and to my new sisterhood of women who are all changing the world for the better! . . . Wreaths remind us that our Good God has no beginning and no end and gives us everlasting life through His Son who came into the world as a sweet, innocent baby. So no matter what we face in this life, it’s nothing in comparison to what Jesus did on the cross and how great our lives will be in the afterlife where there will be no more tears or pain. As we draw closer to celebrating the birth of Christ, know how much you are loved, cherished, valued and pursued by the Prince of Peace. . “Long before you gave birth to the earth and before the mountains were born, you have been from everlasting to everlasting, the one and only true God.” - Psalms‬ ‭90:2‬ ‭(TPT‬‬) . . . . . . . . . . #warriorforChrist #wordofTruth #Jesusculture #Bibleverses #moveforward #shesharestruth #shereadstruth #imperishablebeauty #womenoffaith #womenofgod #womenofimpact #womenofcolor #womenofworth #womenofprayer #womenoftheword #womenofchrist #womenoftheBible #womenofcourage #womenofinfluence #womenofhonor #womenofgrace #liveoutbeauty #sheprays #shespeaks #shewritestruth #christianmom #christianwomen #nonprofitorganization #itschristmastime #christmaswreaths

Posted @withrepost@ashleyasti I haven’t stopped thinking about Shreyaa Venkat and her sister Esha since the Women of Worth awards. Shreyaa is the 17 year old co-founder of @joinnest, a nonprofit committed to nourishing the hungry, inspiring youth, and connecting the world through kindness. These two girls are the essence of empowered young women who choose to use their power and platform to lift up others. To not only know your purpose but choose to live it at such a young age moves and inspires me. I’m so grateful to have made two new friends who show the world that it is never too early to live with purpose, vision and, of course, kindness. . . . #loreal #womenofworth #nest4us #shreyaavenkat #eshavenkat

Excited to announce that I am a part of the L’Oreal League, an exclusive group of influencers partnered to empower others through makeup! I’m so honored to be starting this journey!⁣ .⁣ I have to shout out their foundation for a sec! A foundation that is reasonably price and covers my darks spots without looking caked on is hard to find. The new L’Oreal 24 hour wear foundation is the perfect product for me. Not only does it cover my scars it also completely matches my skin! This is a must try! @lorealmakeup #lorealpartner

I've had more ups than downs in this journey with Girls Who Brunch Tour. There were many moments that all I could do is keep working and find enjoyment and in everything I was doing all the while keeping a smile on my face in good moments and bad. Ensuring a good attitude and doing the right thing even when it's hard takes virtue. When you do that you are passing the test. And God promises you that your marked moments are on their way. In life you will discover that your complexities and your heroic moments are all marked monumental achievements. Affording the gift of having our monumental achievements of humanity recognized by such a major organization as @lorealmakeup is powerful and life changing. Thank you for choosing us to be the 2019 class of the Women of Worth family. It reminds all of us that our work is powerful and not in vain and that we are all in our own right Worth it. Lastly thank you @pointsoflight for ensuring our every need was met. It was not in Vain. Thank you to @iskra and @katgraham Graham for aligning Girls Who Brunch with your causes. This connection is beautiful and I am still honored that you chose me. #WomenofWorth

"I have always been a loudmouth but I haven’t always had a platform. I know what it feels like to be silent and I know what it feels like to be ignored and nothing, no amount of a microphone, no amount of attention and no amount of power will make me forget what it feels like to not have that. I have no option, I have no choice—I have to do something because I’m aware this platform I have is an incredible gift but with that comes an incredible amount of responsibility to do with it which is right, which is best for others. If not to use my voice and my microphone, my platform to elevate the lives, the rights and the awareness of others, then what good does it do me? I don’t understand sitting on a platform and not using it. What better use for it than this?" ~ @amberheard for @forbes ~ 👏❤ #AmberHeard #WomenOfWorth #loreal #lorealparis #lorealmakeup #lorealhair #imworthit #actress #activist #ambassador #hero #inspiration #womenrights #humanrights #standup4humanrights #unitednations #TheStand #Mera #Aquaman #dceu #superhero #dccfans #dccfilms #dccmovies #comics #dcc #dccomics #newyork

Woman of the day: Sojourner Truth, African-American abolitionist and women’s rights activist. 📢 Truth was born into slavery in 1797. She was sold multiple times to different owners throughout her childhood. Around 1815, Truth gave birth to a daughter, after a short relationship with a slave from a neighboring farm. She later had a son and two other daughters. In 1826, she escaped with her youngest daughter, finally tasting freedom. Shortly after her escape, Truth learned that her son Peter, then 5 years old, had been illegally sold to a man in Alabama. She took the issue to court and eventually secured Peter's return from the South. The case was one of the first in which a black woman successfully challenged a white man in a United States court. In 1844, Truth joined the Northampton Association of Education and Industry. Founded by abolitionists, the organization supported a broad reform agenda including women's rights and pacifism. Members lived together on 500 acres as a self-sufficient community. Truth began to tour and delivered her famous “Ain’t I a Woman?” speech at the 1851 Ohio Women's Rights Convention. She was one of several escaped slaves, along with Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman, to rise to prominence as an abolitionist leader and a testament to the humanity of enslaved people. Even in abolitionist circles, some of Truth's opinions were considered radical. She sought political equality for all women and chastised the abolitionist community for failing to seek civil rights for black women as well as men. She openly expressed concern that the movement would fizzle after achieving victories for black men, leaving both white and black women without suffrage and other key political rights. Although Truth began her career as an abolitionist, the reform causes she sponsored were broad and varied, including prison reform, property rights and universal suffrage. Truth died at her home in 1883. #womenofimpact #womeninhistory #womenofworth #women #feminists #feminism #slavery

(Pune, India) “I love dressing up for the day - I always wear bright colours because it makes me feel more energetic and that reflects in my work. Floral prints are my favorite and I never forget to accessorize! I made a rule for myself a long time ago - to never leave the house without my bindi, bangles and earrings and I’ve stuck to it till today. I’ve just always felt that when a lady is looking her best she’s taken more seriously by the world.”
